Bulgaria at Junior Eurovision 2021: Denislava & Martin with “Voice Of Love”

After a five year break from the contest, Bulgaria is back at Junior Eurovision 2021. It’s time to say zdraveĭte to Denislava and Martin, who are hoping to bring their country its first song contest gold medal. The Dobrich duo will sing “Voice Of Love” in Paris.

Bulgaria at Junior Eurovision 2021: Denislava & Martin “Voice Of Love”

Denislava Dimitrova and Martin Stoyanov, also known as Deni and Marti, were internally selected by BNT to represent Bulgaria at Junior Eurovision 2021. 

Separately, Deni and Marti have been singing since the age of five. Together, they have been making music for four years and Junior Eurovision has always been a goal of theirs. 

Denislava, 12, is an animal lover and spends a lot of time with her pets, while Martin, 13, is a self-confessed bookworm. 

The pair’s song “Voice Of Love” was composed by a team of Bulgarian and Macedonian songwriters consisting of Davor Jordanovski, Vesna Malinova, Stan Stefanov and Eurovision alum Vasil Garvanliev who represented North Macedonia in 2020 and 2021. 

The music video also shows Deni and Marti in the studio with national treasure VICTORIA, who sang for Bulgaria at Eurovision 2020 and 2021.

What do the “Voice Of Love” lyrics mean?

“Voice Of Love” contains lyrics in both Bulgarian and English. The song is an empowering fairytale-like anthem inspired by community spirit, love and togetherness. 

Martin opens the first verse with lyrics describing a secret wish: “Са скрити тайни светове Искаш ли сега Като в приказка С(ъс) теб да полетим”(English: “Secret worlds are hidden / Do you want now as in a fairy tale / To fly together with you”).

Then, Denislava describes her dream to fly away and leave her troubles behind and rise like a phoenix to conquer them. She sings: “Да бъдем вятъра за ден / Да бъдем феникс прероден / Във малките неща / Оставили следа”(English: “To be the wind for a day / To be a phoenix reborn / In the little things / They left a trail”).

During the chorus, the pair sing about having unconditional love for one’s friends and family, lifting them up in times of need. They sing, in English: “We are the voice of love / The greatest gift of all / The ones to life you up / The ones that are enough”. 

The song closes out with Deni and Marti describing love as “the greatest gift of all”, with Deni angelically singing: “Любов е моят глас” (English: “Love is my voice”).
