EMA 2022: Show details
Slovenia will select its act for Eurovision 2022 on Saturday 19 February. But there are three qualifying shows to come before the EMA 2022 grand final — the EMA FREŠ final on 28 January, semi-final one on 5 February and semi-final two on 12 February.
Each semi-final will feature eight pre-qualified acts alongside two EMA FREŠ qualifiers. There will be six qualifiers on both nights, with the public televote selecting three and an expert jury choosing another three, resulting in a 12 song final. The overall winner will be determined by a 50/50 split between the public and a jury made up of five different panels.

Vedran grabbed my attention immediately. Interested in hearing the other 2.30 minutes of that, I hope it’s the kind of hypnotic techno-folk the snippet suggests
EMA 2022 for me is very strong also sorry !!! Mia Gucek, BQL, Klara Jazbec, Gusti feat.Leyre and Eva Moskon are very good !!!
A bit.. of nothing, these sounded so mediocre.
So the most generic songs that will fail hard at the Eurovision stage?
From 30 sec. no song really screams WINNER. Probably most potential have July Jones and Mia Gu?ek. And form EMA FREŠ Luma and Katja Kos. From both semi-finals: I’m sad that all songs in Slovenian language are nothing special. Most of them are just normal radio-friendly pop songs. No-one really sings their songs from the heart. And I doubt that people can even connect to any of them. There is simply no soul or energy in them. And from this one: All the songs in Slovenian are just… meh… average, probably would not even come to finals in Eurovision. Mostly… Read more »
Hopeful BQL doesn’t switch languages if they ever qualify from their semi.
Ok Slovenia Independiente is your entry this year good luck ?????????
Independiente was my favourite from this semi. Overall I found this more underwhelming than semi 1 but it is so hard to tell with only 30 seconds to play with.
It all seems way more generic then we’d like. I honestly don’t know what to predict.
BQL. That’s it
How is it that there are better songs in fresh songs than in the well-known ones, I would prefer Gaja Prestor or Raiven to come back, because BQL, I was counting on something good and fast, and we have a ballad, it’s still better than what they have recently performed folk songs
Ballads, the scorn of the Eurofan.
BQL’s composition sounds as unremarkable as the rest, so at least nobody will get robbed this time.
Nothing bad, but nothing great either.
After listening all the songs, I think Mia Gu?ek – “Independiente” is Slovenia’s only chance for possible qualification. Pretty weak selection this year. Unfortunate.
It’s better than the first semi! But still it’s hard to understand with those short snippets
