Benidorm Fest: Luna Ki “Voy a Morir”
Luna’s futuristic vision leaves no one indifferent. “Voy a Morir” (I’m Going to Die) is an alternative rock piece inspired by the anime universe. The artist describes “Voy a Morir” as “the experience of a painful and dependent love relationship, in which life is meaningless without the loved one.”
This was one of the most daring entries for Benidorm Fest 2022. The artist worked alongside Allnightproducer, Vanity Vercetti and Digital Geass for this song.
What do the “Voy a Morir” lyrics mean?
“Voy a Morir” is a story of love and dependence but brought to the extreme. Through the lyrics, Luna Ki shows the toxicity of their addiction to their lover: “When you’re not here, you can hear me crying, you can feel me shiver, I have to self-medicate”.
Luna also includes French and English lyrics. “When you’re not with me nothing is the same” is precisely what “Si tú no estás, nada es igual” means. And as nothing is the same, they describe what they do to get their lover’s attention back: “I took an aspirin, I’m not going to school anymore and I burnt a car, what do you think?”
The song is inspired in the world of anime. “I kill in my Nintendo egos that I don’t understand”; “I can see you, I can love you, but I know I’ll die without a shield” . There’s also a reference to Chenoa’s “Cuando tú vas”, a staple of Spanish parties. “When you’re going I’m coming back, and when you’re back I’m gone”.

I think you should grab a fire extinguisher to extinguish the fire as fast as possible or else you would probably die because of an explosion (fire + gasoline + car = explosion).
Sorry but the only toxic hñthing here are this awful song, with really questionable lyrics, and her need for attention. Nothing more than a spoiled child that plays to be an artist

She got all the free publicity her young career could’ve hoped for, so here is where she gets off the ESC ride before she embarrasses herself with live vocals and becomes an asterisk bigger than poor Manel “voice crack” Navarro.
It was an awful sounding song anyway…..so shrill and drowned in awful autotune. I dont know how people can listen to such noise….
