Eesti Laul 2022 semi-final one acts Estonia

Estonia started their national final process with 40 songs judged solely by their studio versions over the month of December. But now the 20 that survived the first cut will have to perform live during the semi-finals of Eesti Laul 2022.

The first semi-final will take place on 3 February, where ten competitors are set to battle it out for the five qualification spots to the grand final.

All ten acts are hoping to continue on their journey to represent Estonia at the Eurovision Song Contest in Turin. But which of them do you want to see progress further?

Below are the ten songs due to compete in semi-final one. Take a listen and then vote for your favourites.

You can vote for any number of songs you like. But you may only vote once – choose wisely!

Eesti Laul 2022: Semi-final voting rules

As detailed in section 7 of ERR’s Eesti Laul 2022 rules, voting will work slightly differently in the semis compared to the quarter-finals.

Five acts will advance from each semi-final. The first three will be determined using a 50-50 combination of jury and public voting, while the remaining two qualifiers will come from a second round of public televoting from the acts that remain.

Unlike in previous years, there will not be a one-week gap between the semi-finals and grand final. Estonia will crown its Eurovision 2022 singer on Saturday 12 February.

What do you think? Do you feel the winner of Eesti Laul 2022 is in this semi-final? Let us know in the comments below!

There´s no favourite for me in this semifinal, but I would choose Stig and Andrei & Grete. The worst one is Elysa.

I’m very disappointed of Estonia’s selection this year. Last year it was incredible, this year the complete opposite. Guess I pick Vaikus here.

Elina Nechayeva
Stig Rasta
Ott Lepland

I know it’s a cliche to pick former representatives in a poll, but I really do feel that their songs are the strongest ones here. Especially Elina’s.

Obviously Ott and Elina. They will qualify anyway and they also deserve it. I hope Vaikus and Laululind will follow them. No idea what they’re about but they sound very beautiful to me, especially Vaikus. Estonia may not have a winner here but a very enjoyable NF nevertheless.

Stig, Elina and Ott will all likely qualify and they all have pretty good songs with Ott’s being my favorite of the three. Something tells me that Elysa will qualify too. I don’t like “Fire” tbh, but it is catchy and an energetic female banger does stand out in a selection like Eesti Laul. That means only one space left, and I really hope Andrei and Grete get it. “Mis nüüd saab” might be my favorite song of the selection.

Elysa and Elina for me.
Although none of all the songs I heard is a Eurovision winner, Elysa has the most potential for good result.

Interesting semifinal…. I think Stig and Elina are obviously going to qualify. My hopes are for Merilin Malk and Andrei & Grete. Both the songs can go either way. It all depends on the staging. I’m not a fan of Fire, but I think it will be a televote magnet. I don’t know about Ott Lepland. I think it will also depend on the live. While I do like Helen’s song, I don’t think it will really have much of an impact on both the juries and televote. My qualifiers are: Stig Rasta Elina Nechayeva Andrei Zevakin ft. Grete Paia… Read more »

Eesti laul has really claimed it’s place as one of my favorite NFs. So many good songs.
My favorites from the first semi are Stig Rästa and Andrei Zevakin ft. Grete Paia.
I also like Elina Nechayeva, Ott Lepland and Elysa (though I think Fire rides on the success of Fuego a little bit)

I think that the qualifiers are going to be: Miis Nuud Saab since it is popular with the younger generation, so its going to get their points and also the older cause its similar to Goodbye to yesterday and it won Eesti Laul, and also that it went through the public vote so yeah. Also my favourite. Once again Pluuto wrote another amazing son. Remedy, I don’t like it but it is an returning artist. Intersteller, I don’t like it too but it is an retiring artist. Aovagluses, I actually quite like and I like to see it the final… Read more »

Estonia should send Alabama Watchdog if they really want to win Eurovision 2022.

I really cannot imagine involving yourself in the Eurovision community, proud and based on celebrating diversity, with such an openly transphobic attitude, and putting yourself in a position to just anger yourself for your views.

My personal picks (in a random order) :
Stig Rasta
Ott Lepland
Elina Nechayeva
Kaia-Liisa Kesler
Merilin Malk
The first three are also certain qualifiers I think while Kaia-Liisa is perhaps a non-qualifier. Merilin can perhaps qualify under some circumstances but as of now I think the remaining two spots will go to Andrei&Grete and Elysa.

actually a very interesting semi, where only 3 acts are somewhat certain they’ll make it (ofc I’m talking about Ott, Elina and Stig) Ott’s song is a great ballad, there’s no fear that he won’t deliver vocally as we all know he can. I think it can be massively elevated during the live performance. Elina’s song was a dissapointment for many fans, certainly not me. Production and instrumental are very good. Just like Ott, she can deliver vocally and elevate her song live. Stig on the other hand gave us smth that i can’t connect with. It sounds..too swedish in… Read more »
