Eesti Laul 2022 semi-final two acts Estonia

Estonia started their national final process with 40 songs judged solely by their studio versions over the month of December. But now the 20 that survived the first cut will have to perform live during the semi-finals of Eesti Laul 2022.

Despite the two month gap between the quarter-finals and semi-finals, the Baltic country is not delaying any further. Just two days after the first semi-final is over and its results are known, the second one takes place on 5 February.

Another ten acts will be vying for the five qualification spots to the grand final. From then, one will earn the right to go to the Eurovision Song Contest in Turin, Italy, and represent Estonia.

Below are the ten songs due to compete in semi-final two. Take a listen and then vote for your favourites.

Eesti Laul 2022: Semi-final voting rules

As detailed in section 7 of ERR’s Eesti Laul 2022 rules, voting will work slightly differently in the semis compared to the quarter-finals.

Five acts will advance from each semi-final. The first three will be determined using a 50-50 combination of jury and public voting, while the remaining two qualifiers will come from a second round of public televoting from the acts that remain.

Unlike in previous years, there will not be a one-week gap between the semi-finals and grand final. Estonia will crown its Eurovision 2022 singer on Saturday 12 February.

Dear Estonia, if you let Maian and Jaagup qualify, I promise I won’t complain about the other 3, even if one of them is Anna Sahlene.

Might be biased, but I think the best song here is “Meeletu.” I believe she can win Eesti Laul and be a worthy representative if she sings and dances during her performance.
It’s been a while since Estonia last sent a bold and different entry, let love pop songs have a break!

All sound like NQ for me, I bet countries like Azerbaijan will advance from the Semifinal 2 in Eurovision and then there are countries like Estonia that barely have anything good to even listen to! Sorry, not sorry!

We all know the actual shady reasons Azerbaijan advances every year, though…

A much stronger semi than the 1st one. Things are even harder to predict on this one. 8 songs have chances to qualify in my opinion. Starting from the obvious favorite: Stefan. A great song, not with a lot of staging potential but powerful and could bring Estonia in the final considering the fact they’re in 2nd half. Black Velvet, Evelin Samuel, Anna Sahlene and Pur Mudd ft Shira are all famous in Estonia. Even tho only the latter ones have a song worth to qualify, i think AT LEAST 2 of them will make it into the grand final.… Read more »

Maian MUST represent Estonia in Turin. I know I’m biased, but “Meeletu” is different from every other Eesti Laul song (not your stereotypical pop love song), and if it has a dance choreography (with Maian singing and dancing instead of just singing), she can wow everyone and eventually get the ticket to represent her country in Eurovision 2022.

That’s how serious Estonia takes singing. For a country that gained independence literally by singing (I learned from “Geography Now”), they take music very seriously and in Eurovision, they can take on any genre.

I’ve loved Stefan’s previous Eesti Laul entries but unfortunately this year, its not really my cup of tea. Vocally he’s great but musically not for me, i’m not a fan of country music. I’m very intrigued to see Jaagup’s entry live. Last time I loved his song, staging was brilliant and unfortunately he didn’t win. This time, I don’t like the song as much, his vocals are great though. I’m hoping that the staging will really bring this to life because theres really cool imagery in the music video and it could make the performance very memorable. Golden shores is… Read more »

Stefan could win the whole Eesti laul. Also would like to see Maian, Jyrise, Pur Mudd & Shira, and Minimal wind in the final.

Plaksuta is brilliant, not much like it has ever been tried before, it could go any way.
