Poll: Who should qualify from semi-final two of Lithuania’s Pabandom iš Naujo! 2022?
Pabandom iš Naujo! 2022: Show details
The result of semi-final two will be determined by a 50/50 jury/televote split. The combined votes of the jury and televote will determine the ranking of the nine acts in the semi-final, and hence the four acts who will progress to the grand final.
The four acts who qualify from this week’s show will join the four who made it through semi-final one in the Pabandom iš Naujo! 2022 grand final. This is scheduled for 12 February, where Lithuania will select its act for Eurovision 2022 in Turin, Italy.
Who did you vote for in the poll? Which acts are you hoping to see qualify from semi-final two of Pabandom iš Naujo! 2022? Let us know all your thoughts in the comments below.
Oh, this is hard. I know Getting Through This is not that great, but I love it sooo much! I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it will qualify. My other qualifiers are Monika Liu, Ieva Zasimauskaite and Auguste Vedrickaite. I hope Sentimentai wins PIN!! I think Monika will be the best choice for Eurovision, and the fact that it is in Lithuanian will elevate it, I think. On the other hand, I never understood the hype about Ruta Loop. I don’t know why, but I never liked that song. Anyway, all the best to all the participants!
This is the more difficult semi. My personal qualifiers would be Ruta Loop, Ieva Zasimauskaite, Urte Šilagalyte, Monika Liu.
I was about to do a semi final 2 predictions for the last Lithuanian article, but this came at the perfect time. Now, here is a deep dive to assess the chances of our nine semi finalists, grouped by their heat: Heat 1: August? Vedrickait? Mary Mo Urt? Šilagalyt? These are the strongest songs from Heat 1 and boy is it hard to choose. Auguste and Urte both earned the top marks from the Jury (well, tied in her case) and Televote respectively, but they only got four points from the other side that would have eliminated them if it… Read more »
Monika Liu confirmed she’s ditching this current performance if she wins the whole thing. And I’m pretty sure she will. Jury on your side is the best thing you can have in PIN.
How do you know that? Did she give out an interview? What does she want to do differently if she gets to go to Eurovision? That could be a smart move if it helps Lithuania’s chances to qualify better, but I hope it doesn’t backfire.
She answered some questions on her instagram and said she has a completely different vision for the performance.
Hopefully, the one thing that doesn’t change is the language of the song.
She wrote that language isn’t changing 1000%
Good news ! Another country beside the Netherlands that would sing in the national language after long time (I hope she wins)
I think Monika will win. Her song is the most popular out of this selection and she’s trending practically number one in Lithuania, so that’s definitely a sign they are favoring her. Will she be embraced by the Fanbase if she wins? That remains to be seen.
Monika Liu and Ruta Loop for sure. They’re my favorites in the whole thing.
For the other 2 spots, I prefer Moosu X’s and Urte’s songs (by the way, if I’m not mistaken both were written by the guys of Moosu X), but if they don’t improve their vocals, I’m OK with Ieva and Auguste getting in for having better performances. If I had a say, all those 6 would be in the final, but the semis were very unbalanced.
Or if they were picking five finalists instead of four per semi final, but that’s the rules. Yes, I agree the semi final assortment was uneven. This will be a bloodbath on Saturday.
My favorites from this SF are Monika Liu and Ruta Loop, the best songs by far! Any of them would snatch a good result for Lithuania at ESC.
Also I have a guilty pleasure in Moosu X, but idk if it’s even a contender to make it to the final :/
Why would you feel guilty for liking “Love that Hurts”? I can’t see anything questionable about it, it’s a good song with a strong chorus.
Love that hurts is a good song, one of the better ones for the selection, but it wasn’t a great vocal performance in heat two. For some reason, he maintained an inconsistent vocal power level throughout, sometimes he Voice was too soft the verses and he only projected his voice out loud enough for the chorus. I hope he gives a better performance this Saturday
And to make things more complicated, this semi is packed with acts that got a lot of points from the jury during the heats. I’m afraid they won’t make it.
Love Ruta Loop so much
Me too, but I know she’s not going to be the winner of the selection.
I’m all the way in for Monika Liu. I mean it’s the most original song in this lithuanian selection and it’s in lithuanian. When was the last time we heard this language on Eurovision stage? It was in 2001. I’m not the kind of person who vote for a song only because it’s in the national language but when the song seems to be the best of the competition then I’m glad it’s in another language than English.
Well, I think Sentimentai might actually be the frontrunner to represent Lithuania at Eurovision because it is really popular in its home country and it is the only heat winner to capture 12 points from jury and televote. There’s a high chance it could win the selection, and while I prefer a different artist (Ruta Loop), I have accepted what the outcome could be. It’s true, we haven’t had a fully Lithuanian language song at Eurovision since the 1990s, so it will definitely bring some language diversity if it wins the selection. I admit I’m a little skeptical about whether… Read more »
Me too !
“????” was an emoji…
Relistened to the tracks and made my own rating: 1. Auguste Vedrickaite – before you’re 6 ft under. Kinda unremarkable, but isn’t necessarily off-putting. The vocals are fine, the production is fine too. Didn’t pay attention to lyrics, tho. 2. Monika Liu – Sentimentai. It’s too much old school for my taste, but it doesn’t feature any off-putting qualities and I’m all for native tongues. 3. Ruta Loop – Call me from the cold. The tune begins nicely, but the song structure doesn’t match its tension. It provokes some idea of build-up, but there’s no climax whatsoever. 4. Ieva Zasimauskaite –… Read more »
Monika Liu is the best option coming Saturday. Overall I am cheering for Lolita!
I´ll cross my fingers for her.
