She’s made of glass, and she’s shattering it too. Ahead of the last heat of Melodi Grand Prix 2022, we asked our readers to vote for their favourite act to win semi-final four. And coming out on top is Sofie Fjellvang with “Made of Glass”.

Scroll down for full poll results.

Norway: Sofie Fjellvang should win MGP 2022 semi-final four

Kristiansand-based singer-songwriter Sofie Fjellvang, 21, is going for MGP gold with “Made Of Glass”. The Voice finalist is bidding to represent Norway with a track co-penned by Melodi Grand Prix hall-of-famer and Eurovision alum Kjetil Mørland of “A Monster Like Me” fame.

In our poll, Sofie picked up 499 votes — that’s 34.22% of the total vote.

The runner-up with wiwibloggs’ readers is Maria Mohn. The Melodi Grand Prix veteran, 38, is spreading her wings with the haunting yet uplifting “Fly”. Maria is a songwriter, vocal coach and entertainer, and previously participated in MGP 2020 with “Fool For Love”, singing alongside MGP 2022 rival Kim Wigaard.

Our readers awarded Maria 432 votes — that’s 29.63% of all votes cast.

Rounding out the top three is Alexandra Joner with “Hasta La Vista”. No relation to Hurricane, the Norwegian-Cuban triple threat singer-dancer-actress is bringing a pinch of Latin flair to MGP. She’s back at Norway’s Eurovision selection after one previous attempt to represent her country in 2015 with “Cinderella”.

In our poll, Alexandra Joner received 393 votes — or 26.95% of the total vote.

Pulling up the rear in fourth is Kim Wigaard with “La Melodia”. The classically-trained vocalist, 33, is giving MGP another shot, this time as a soloist.

In our poll, he lost out to former “Fool For Love” duet partner Maria Mohn, securing just 134 votes — that’s 9.19% of all votes cast.

Though Sofie Fjellvang took the trophy with our readers, her path to MGP glory mightn’t be quite so simple. First, she’ll have to work her way through two rounds of duels before she gets the golden ticket to the final.

The winners of the first two duels will progress through to the gold duel, where they will battle it out for a spot in the MGP 2022 grand final.

Poll results: Who should win semi-final four of Norway’s Melodi Grand Prix 2022?

  1. Sofie Fjellvang: “Made of Glass” — 34.22% (499 votes)
  2. Maria Mohn: “Fly” — 29.63% (432 votes)
  3. Alexandra Joner: “Hasta La Vista” — 26.95% (393 votes)
  4. Kim Wigaard: “La Melodia” — 9.19% (134 votes)

Total votes: 1,458

Honestly, any one of these four would be the best qualifier so far. I’m really ok with any of them. Though, I do believe I have “Fly” and “La Melodia” ranked highest.

Maria Mohn for the win. Not just for this semi final but for the whole thing.

This is certainly the most difficult semi in Norway. I think that my 1st choice is Maria, 2nd is Sofie, but I’ll have to see them on stage as well. Both are great!

OT, but the Romanian live performances have started. Andrei Petrus, Aldo Blaga, Vanu, and Eliza G all pretty much NAILED IT! Sure, there’s 42 more of them to go through, but I believe that with proper top 20 picked, Romania could still have quite a good NF. Perhaps we’ve been underestimating them for all the low-bar ones that entered this top 46.

They were up four hours ago?
Geez. Come on, TVR. I wouldn’t know about this if Colin hadn’t mentioned!

Guess I know what I’m going through this evening.

I couldn’t find Kyrie Mendel (apart from the small part in the recap), but Leyah and Aris were very good. In fact, the majority of them performed as good or better than their studio versions were indicating. I am very happy with my favorites, Andrei, Aldo, and Vanu, as well. I even started to like Malere more. I feel like WRS could have done better, but I’m almost positive that at least televoting will give him a chance to improve in the finals (for some reason, that’s a popular song). The notable exception from making it work must be Barbara… Read more »

I said this on the other post, but I’ll say it again here. I like all them, so I wouldn’t mind any of them winning tonight’s show. I’m mainly curious about Subwoolfer’s live performance tonight. Will they maintain or even strengthen their lead in the odds, or will they drop like Elsie Bay did? As for these competing songs tonight, my top 4 (based on the studio versions) are 1. Alexandra Joner 2. Maria Mohn 3. Kim Wigaard 4. Sofie Fjellvang I like all of them, but like in the first semi, they’re all pretty close to each other quality-wise,… Read more »

No surprise: Morland and a good vocalist are a very good combination, though a generic one.
