This year’s series of Pabandom iš Naujo has returned to the original format from 2020 after being shortened last year. It includes three heats, two semi-finals and one grand final. A total of 36 acts are taking part in the Baltic state’s music competition, which will determine their artist and song for Eurovision 2022.
The 18 acts that advanced through the heats performed in the semi-finals on 29 January and 5 February. The eight acts that have now made it through to the final will compete for the right to represent Lithuania at Eurovision 2022.
What do you think about the Pabandom iš Naujo 2022 semi-final two results? Are you satisfied with the qualifiers?
Yay, Monika Liu!!! But it’s obvious. I hope she wins on Saturday. But no Titas ir Benas but I kinda expected that. Its kinda impressive that the qualifiers were obvious. I don’t know why, I found it impressive. But, I never understood the hype around Ruta Loop. I didn’t like the song at all. But people have their reasons to like it. Maybe, in few months I might see myself vibing to the song. Huh.
no hate to monika or anyone who likes the song, but really don’t get why this is such a firm fan favourite. i think it would nq in may 🙁
I never liked Monika Liu’s music, I hate this one and I will laugh hard when it flops majorly in the ESC if it goes there.
It won’t reach the grand final, that’s like 100% guaranteed
Based on what, your personal opinion? The opinion of only one person
There won’t be another song like that 100% guaranteed.
I don’t know what this song will do in ESC but I like it and I think it can finish in the top 15 (perhaps more if the staging is good).
One thing is 95% sur for me. If Monika doesn’t make it to the finale, none of the other artists in this lithuanian selection can.
I just LOVE Sentimentai. It deserved to win Semifinal 2 although I’m running around the house like she won the Final ,which I would love to happen. It is so vintage and at the same time really good
It deserves to win Eurovision (or get in the Top 5)
Sentimentai is like a quirky version pf Voila, and I love it
Monika has this one in the bag, right? I love “Sentimentai”, it will probably keep Lithuania in my top 10 for the third year in a row.
Ruta was even better tonight. I feel bad for her, because her song would be my favorite in like 95% of the national selections, but Monika is on her way. Hopefully she’s building reputation to win PIN in a near future. Auguste and Ieva were also great, they deserved to be in the final. I’ll miss Moosu X there, but “Love that Hurts” will have a long life in my playlists anyway.
Sorry, I still don’t get Sentimentai and don’t see it qualifying to the final in Turin
It’s either because you’re too young, or too basic.
Yeah yeah, whatever, sophisticated boomer
Im a millenial and Im telling you that you just have a bad taste in music
Who would’ve known that Monika Liu would be an even more obvious winner than The Roop were last year?
Locals were saying Liu would win before the song had been released since she’s rather popular at the moment
sentimentai needs a heavier punch, i was quite underwhelmed when i first heard the song, but i think with a very atmospheric performance she’ll do well in turin.
Well, a wiwibloggs poll was actually 100% accurate for once. All four qualifiers here were the same four predicted, though it’s 3 out of 4 for me. When looking at the 8 finalists, it’s very clear heat 3 was the strongest heat this year because they make up half of the finalists (4). Heat 2 contributed 3 and heat 1 has only a single representative. While it is pretty obvious who the winner will turn out to be, it would be interesting to see where the rest of the entries will place. Still, all I can say is good luck… Read more »
Sentimentai is so good. I kinda wish the outro was the bridge and it had one last chorus, with some sax added maybe but oh well
Congrats to gebrasy for being the only male act in the finals LMAO
Monika is just amazing and genuine! Lithuania, just send her already!
Happy Ieva made it didn’t know the context of the song and her divorce until today what a beautiful song
There’s something about Monika that is very amazing. She has that it factor an I am intrigued to see where she will place when it comes to ESC cause she is running away with Lithuania’s NF
Loved Monika’s performance and the added visuals from the heats, just a classy streamlined performance all around. I definitely think she’s winning.
Love Ruta Loop too
I can legit see Monika Liu winning in Turin, given the weak competition this season seems to be going to have.
That would be the most epic thing, dare I say. 28 years ago Lithuania debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest with a song in Lithuanian and got 0 points finishing last. If we are about to win it all with a song in Lithuanian – what an irony.
That would be an interesting way to make it full circle, though I’m still skeptical about Sentimentai reaching that high or even qualify, but that will all depend on the makeup of Semi final 1. I find it amusing that all the Baltics are going to have their finals on the same day so it’s Baltic Saturday next week (and Ukraine too).
Monika Liu giving us real Liza Minnelli vibes… love it!
Santimentai is a song, melody and overall performance on another level. Good luck.
Whew, the quality final we all deserve.
Monika is running away with this to the point it’s worth speculating where she might finish at Eurovision itself.
Not personally a huge Monika fan. Seriously I am obsessed with Ruta’s song though! I hope she keeps on entering with those quality songs. It feels contemporary and seeing that Eurovision probably gets an even more super hip young audience on the heels of Maneskins victory, I see Ruta’s offering translating well into Top 10 results.
Back in 2020, The Roop gained 5,192 votes in their Semi-Final. Monika Liu gained 3,965 votes in her Semi-Final tonight. This is very promising for the retro diva!
I can’t believe Moosu X is out and Running Chords too
both of them had underwhelming vocal performances..
it’s me or I think Lithuania can win Eurovision with Monika Liu??
Definitely yes. She is a love child of Salvador Sobral and Barbara Pravi.
it’s you
Clear upper top 10
I don’t think she could win but she definitely could do a nice score. Possible top 10 again for Lithuania.
Probably not win, but be a dark horse for suuuuure. She could sneak into the Top 10 when no one was expecting.
Like Donny Montell did in 2016
Maybe you have a dreadful taste, instead…
Tell me you have no taste without telling me you have no taste.
I’m sad to hear that you think this song is “dreadful”. I’m from Lithuania, and I can’t begin to explain, how much it’s speaks to us (natives), and tells the europe about our culture and history… Sure, maby the music itself is not the best, but the lyrics! The lyrics are everything! Monika sings about a (lithuanian) woman from the past, who now (at the present) remenising fregments of her past. The heat 3 staging shows it beautiflly (saddly she changed her staging due to the comments online, i hope in the final she will return to her original staging).… Read more »
I’m a native Lithuanian. She speaks nothing at all to me. The song is boring and in no way it tells anything about Lithuanian culture or history. As you said it’s a song about sentiments of one woman.
Well surely it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, But I am surprised that you didn’t notice Lithuanias cultural and historical elements in the song that we could share with the rest of Europe. For example: the sound of the song – it brings nostalgic memories of older songs, created in the ~50’s, also gives an idea for foreiners of how lithuanian music used to sound… Secondly: Monika sings about Nida, the most beautiful place in lithuania, a place, which not everyone nows about, but surely will, after lisinning (or reading) the lyrics. Thirdly: the song mentions a fregment of our… Read more »
I’d love it, I’ll tell you that
The fck u now in music?
The final will be amazing.
Okay well this evening kinda solidified the fact that Monika Liu is gonna win, and I’m happy as she is my personal fave, but it won’t make for a very exciting final. Still, her performance was phenomenal and she has a good chance of pushing Lithuania through to the final in May.
I think she has a good chance of pushing Lithuania through to the Top 10 in May.
Will be nice hearing Lithuanian song in Eurovision
