Norway MGP 2022 Second Chance Round One Results

Four weeks in and only one spot remains in the Melodi Grand Prix 2022 final. Ahead of Norway selecting its act for Eurovision 2022, four acts will return to battle it out in the MGP 2022 last chance round, for their chance to grab that coveted golden ticket.

Maria Mohn, Mari Bølla, Kim Wigaard and TrollfesT are facing another round of duels this weekend. But ahead of the show, we want to know who you think deserves to make it through. Vote in our poll now!

Scroll down to vote in our poll.

Melodi Grand Prix 2022: Last Chance round

Mari Bølla – “Your Loss”

The youngest Norwegian Idol winner in history (15 at the time of her victory), Mari Bølla makes her MGP debut at 17 years old. The Oslo-based songstress is delivering pop-punk hip-hop fusion with “Your Loss”, a nod to self-love and knowing your own worth. She’s through to the second chance round after losing her duel against Oda Gondrosen’s “Hammer of Thor” in semi-final three. Is Mari Bølla your pick to win?

Maria Mohn – “Fly”

Melodi Grand Prix alum Maria Mohn, 38, is spreading her wings with the haunting yet uplifting “Fly”. A graduate of the Norwegian Academy of Music, Maria is also a songwriter, vocal coach and entertainer, looking to add Eurovision 2022 to her extremely-impressive CV. Maria has another shot at the MGP crown after losing out to Sofie Fjellvang’s “Made of Glass” in the semi-final four gold duel. Will Maria go all the way?

Kim Wigaard — “La Melodia”

Classically-trained vocalist Kim Wigaard, 33, is giving Melodi Grand Prix another shot. The Oslo Concert Hall headliner first bid for the Norwegian Eurovision ticket in 2020 alongside fellow MGP 2022 semi-finalist Maria Mohn, who he’ll battle once more in the last chance round. Does “La Melodia” get your vote?

TrollfesT — “Dance Like a Pink Flamingo”

TrollfesT are recruiting an army of flamingos and they’re ready to take over the world. The band delivers terrific concerts with lots of audience interaction, where everything is allowed if it’s fun. Now, the folk metal octet is ready to give it their all once more and fight for the Melodi Grand Prix ticket to Eurovision after losing their semi-final one duel to eventual winner Frode Vassel. Will TrollfesT make it through?

Why is Maria Mohn winning? She is out of tune the whole song, it’s so disgusting to listen to her voice, such a pretentious and empty song. Mari Bølla all the way!

All 4 deserves the final imo. La melodia stands the most out to me, though I’m quite sure it’s out. I think Mari Bølla will qualify but with a narrow margin to Maria. All are so great! Really a great contest this year!

can’;t believe they voted for trollfest, Norway is not taking it seriously.

Anyway, it’s clear that the wolves will be voted by a big margin as winners since there are no juries in the show. I miss Norway 2020.

If Your Loss had a better verse, it would be an amazing track. The verse and chorus sound like two different tracks in different genres and I find that jarring.

team HoT has voted for “fly” – crazy wah but aside from my taste the best song and interpretation in this round should win here even if this song destroys the hammer chances in the finale.

It’s so hard to choose between Mari Bølla and Maria… Maria should have won the last semi-final!!!

I’m hoping Mari Bølla gets it, and if not her then TrollfesT. Personally I slightly prefer TrollfesT’s song, but I feel like Mari Bølla’s staging was better.
Maria Mohn is my 3rd out of this lot. If I had to bet money, I’d say Maria would get it.

And now we get to see if Anna-Lisa Kumoji’s staging elevates or breaks her song.

Nope. Love her song but the performance sadly broke it.

Eliminated from the contest, as she deserves to be.

Am I the only one who thinks…. Why the hell the song writers of Ecstasy did not choose another singer??? Or why didn’t they pitched everything down????? Like Deban/William said this track is so shrill.
The song though is such a bop. The part where she goes “I can make it ah-ah-ah-ah-oh” is so catchy and iconic. Even the staging was a serve.

Kim Wigaard is the clear winner, he really gives me winner vibes unlike Maria Mohn who has a terrible voice, Mari Bølla who is literally competing with a copy of Zitti e buoni while trying to also replicate Fuego (WHAT) and Trollfest’s garbage song Prance like A Dumb Flamingo or something I cant bother to remember the name

Maria Mohn is the most interesting in this bunch though it isn’t my fav from MGP. I would go for Northkid in the final. If not, SubWoolfer or Sofie Fjellvang would make it for me.

Last year TIX and feather wings … this year Trollfest and their Flamingoes … two years of musical emptiness having a ball in the costume department. I’m worried for Norway. Will they end up like Ireland in the end with only a stuffed bird on stage? We all know what happened from then onwards!
