The grand final of Eesti Laul 2022 is fast approaching. We’ll soon find out who will be representing Estonia at Eurovision 2022 in Turin.

Ahead of the show, we asked you to vote for your number one pick out of the remaining ten acts.

You made sure your voices were heard, and 3,933 votes were cast in total.

Now, it’s time to reveal the results…

Stefan is a favourite to win Eesti Laul 2022

Taking the top spot by a hefty margin is Stefan. His song “Hope” picked up 1,230 votes, which is 31.27% of the total.

For his fourth appearance in Eesti Laul, Stefan is taking us to the wild west with a slice of country music. Many of y’all are saddling up and getting ready to ride along with the Estonian singer on his quest for Eurovision glory.

Following behind Stefan are two past Eurovision stars.

Second place in the poll goes to Stig Rästa, whose song “Interstellar” received 501 votes (12.74% of the total). Stig represented Estonia at Eurovision 2015, alongside Elina Born, and placed seventh. He’s been a feature of Eesti Laul for most years since then, either as a singer or a songwriter. Will 2022 be the year he makes a return to the Eurovision stage?

The bronze medal goes to Elina Nechayeva. After taking Estonia to eighth place at Eurovision 2018, she’s hoping to beat that result should she make it back there this year. Elina’s entry for Eesti Laul 2022 is “Remedy”, and it earned 474 votes (12.05%) in our poll.

Poll results: Who should win Estonia’s Eesti Laul 2022 grand final?

  1. Stefan – “Hope”, 1,230 votes (31.27%)
  2. Stig Rästa – “Interstellar”, 501 votes (12.74%)
  3. Elina Nechayeva – “Remedy”, 474 votes (12.05%)

  8. Andrei Zevakin feat. Grete Paia – “Mis nüüd saab”, 167 votes (4.25%)

  10. Black Velvet – “Sandra”, 90 votes (2.29%)

Grand final voting

The result of the Eesti Laul 2022 grand final will be determined over two rounds. In the first round, a professional jury will cast their votes alongside the public televote. A 50/50 split between the two will determine the top three acts who move onto the superfinal.

In the superfinal, it’s purely down to the public. Whoever earns the most televotes will be crowned the winner and become Estonia’s act for Eurovision 2022 in Turin, Italy.

Estonia is set to perform in the second half of the second semi-final of Eurovision 2022 on 12 May.

Do you agree with the results? Is Stefan your winner of Eesti Laul 2022? Let us know in the comments below!

I’m shocked Ott is so low. His voice and song touches me. There’s something so secure about the entire thing.

I don’t dislike STEFAN but I haven’t enjoyed any Estonian entry since 2016 and he’s not going to change that. Lots of really interesting indie and electro in EL over the years that has been continuously overlooked and undermined by disastrous televoting choices of the Estonian public, starting with that uninspired Modern Talking tribute act back in 2017… This country had the potential to be so much more in ESC, still hoping for an Ott Lepland upset tonight, somehow…

Stefan would be Great! Have we ever had a country-song at ESC before?

We’ve had country songs at Eurovision before, but hope is emulating the musical stylings of a spaghetti western theme (Think the good the bad and the ugly by Ennio Morricone), And we’ve never had that particular sound at your vision. It will be quite appropriate to send to Italy because spaghetti western is an Italian film sub genre.

In fact, the Netherlands was kinda on a country kick, With calm before the storm, slow down and outlaw in ‘em.

– Calm After The Storm – The Common Linnets (Netherlands 2014)
– Slow Down – Douwe Bob (Netherlands 2016)
– Outlaw In Em – Waylon (Netherlands 2018)

There were probably more country songs throughout Eurovision history, but those are the only ones I remember.

As he should! “Hope” has been my favorite in Eesti Laul 2022 since the start and I believe can come across very engaging to locals, especially given Westerns are making a slow comeback in popular culture. It’s time Estonia sent Stefan as I’ve loved all his last 3 entries too, “Without You” was robbed af (and likely would’ve taken votes away from Duncan in Tel Aviv) I’ll be intrigued to see how well “What to Make of This” does as that song is the biggest underdog of this entire whole NF season as no one predicted it’d qualify from the… Read more »

I think the Baltics will play safe tonight, so let it be Monika/Aminata/Stefan, and we might see all three in the grand final.

Not playing safe, just sending their best options and assuring this maybe the strongest year for Baltics to date.

Any other result would be kinda disappointing imo. If Stefan wins he will climb to the top of my ESC ranking so far. Go Stefan, Estonia please make the right choice!
