Albina Croatia Eurovision 2021 Tick Tock

Dora 2022, Croatia’s national final, is just a few days away. Unlike past editions where we only had snippets to enjoy a day or two in advance of the semi-final itself, we can all now listen to all of the songs competing to represent the Balkan nation in Turin!

The winner of Dora 2022 will be selected by a combination of televote and jury vote. Further details of the exact competition format will be confirmed soon enough.

You can listen to all the entries and vote for your favourites below. You can vote for as many as you’d like, but you can only vote once. Choose wisely!

Dora 2022 Participants

Bernarda – “Here For Love”

I like Marko’s and Mia’s songs the best, but some others are quite decent too. I am happy to see that good artists with nice songs are joining Dora again. Greetings from Serbia

oof! I didn’t expect Croatia to have one of the best NFs of the season, but I’m glad they do and I can’t quite name a favorite entry, personally. I love both Mia’s, Marko and ToMa, but the rest are worthy contestants too 🙂

For me, the battle is between Marko and Tina Vukov. I also like ToMa quite a lot/ Now, let me add a couple of ‘fun fact’ notes: Ms Zdenka Kovacicek, a legend of Croatian and ex-Yugoslav pop-scene holds an absolute record when it comes to the biggest span between the first and the last ESC-related competition. In fact, she could have been chosen the first ever Yugoslav representative at ESC back in 1961!! At the time, she formed a popular teenage duo with Ms Nada Zitnik called “Hani” (way before Luca, huh). The song was called “Obecaj Mi To” (Promise… Read more »

No one. What a sh*tshow. We really can’t send a good entry. Whoever we send we can sing to them Jessa’s song “oooh, aah, you look like my next mistake”

Mia D.

I have decided that it is about a woman struggling with a marriage she does not want to be in. Hetero society has pressured her into marrying a man, and it was fine for a while – that is until she met a woman she just can not forget.

Surprised to read that Barkers melfest rejects have such a big audience but thank god Marko will win

Mia went to Sweden and wrote the song with the team since she is a songwriter herself. It’s pretty rude to dismiss her work by saying it’s a melfest reject. Also, the song could be easily featured at Melfest considering the current competition there.

Adding to your point, given the current state of the competition (where they care more for the same formulaic and dated form of composition) in Sweden, it should no longer be an insult to say a song is a Melfest reject

If Forgive Me was rejected from Melfest, the joke’s on them, as it’s better than any Melfest song released so far, with perhaps the exception of Hold Me Closer. For me, it usually doesn’t matter if the song is written by local or foreign songwriters, as long as it’s good, and this one is (for me). I also really like Marko’s song.
PS. As 123 says, Mia also shares a songwriting credit, so it’s a collaboration. They did a great job on this one.

Mia is in fact co writer of the song so to call it a reject is not fair. Not everything is a Melfest reject..

This song was written specifically for Mia with Mia when she came to Sweden. One of the other writers is Croatian too and has worked with Mia before. This was NOT submitted in Sweden….. I am one of the songwriters for this song and I also produced it. Me and my partner Denniz Jamm, planned a long time to work with Mia. Laurell is a very close friend of mine. /Andreas Stone Johansson (co-writer/producer of Forgive me)

This might be the closest national final of the season. Really difficult to call it. Have fun in Croatia. 🙂

I think Mia is the best option for Croatia, but I’m nearly quite sure Marko will win because people in Croatia always vote for young male guys from X Factor-like competitions competing on Dora.

Mia has literally no charisma. ESC is not for her. You dont win based on vocal abilities only.

Finally we have a line-up with several good options which could represent us with dignity. My hunch says that Mia D will win the jury, Marko will win the televote, and Mia N will go to Turin. However, the three songs are so close in popularity that this is far from over. ToMa could be a dark horse of the combined vote as well. I will likely vote for Mia Negovetic, but I might even give my vote to more than one song.

Mia Negovetic has an impressive streak of consecutive entries for Dora 2020-22. But her winning the national final this year is like Di Caprio winning the Academy Award–the artist totally deserves the award, though the winning piece of art is not their best and not the best of the year in question.

“Moli Za Nas” for me, it’s a really well produced song and I have a strong feeling that it will be performed well live. It kinda reminds me of their 2019 entry, but with 20 times the amounts of class and a lot less dated. And that entry even came 14th in a really strong semi, so they could do even better this year.
