Germany 12 Points

A live audience has been confirmed! After a long wait, German fans finally have the answer they’ve wanted. On Thursday, the German broadcast NDR confirmed that Germany 12 Points, the country’s new national final, will be held in Berlin with a live audience on 4 March.

Tickets went on sale on tvtickets.de on Friday for the price of 32 euro, and sold out in literally one minute.

Capacity is limited and fans must present daily negative corona test in addition to vaccination/ recovery proof.

Running order for Germany 12 Points

On Wednesday, the running order for the national final was revealed on the TV show “Live nach Neun” during a draw. Malik Harris will open the show with the song “Rockstars”, while Nico Suave & Team Liebe will close the show with the song “Hallo Welt”.

Running order for Germany 12 Points

  1. Malik Harris – “Rockstars”
  2. Maël & Jonas – “I Swear To God”
  3. Eros Atomus – “Alive”
  4. Emily Roberts – “Soap”
  5. Felicia Lu – “Anxiety”
  6. Nico Suave & Team Liebe – “Hallo Welt”

About Germany 12 Points

The six songs were selected from 944 applications. Head of Delegation Alexandra Wolfslast oversaw the jury, which included music experts from ARD radio pop waves (Antenne Brandenburg, BAYERN 3, Bremen Vier, hr3, MDR Jump, NDR 2, SR 1, SWR3 and WDR 2). Despite fans’ calls for Eskimo Callboy to be given a wild card, NDR still stands by its previous decision and rejected the 12 points petition.

Germany’s national selection will be 100% decided by a public vote. This vote comes from two different streams —— the votes of radio listeners on the one hand and the audience of the show on the other. They will be weighted 50 percent each.

TV viewers can vote during the show. But radio listeners from ARD’s nine pop radio stations can also visit the stations’ web sites to let their voice be heard. The online radio voting opens on Monday 28 February and closes at 20:00 CET on 4 March — just before the live TV broadcast at 20:15 CET.

The voting for TV viewers will take place via SMS/Call during the show.

The national final will be hosted by Barbara Schöneberger, the Eurovision spokesperson for Germany for the past few years. Special guests will also perform at the national final.

Will it take place in a small studio> Maybe that explains the sold out?

Do you think the Eskimo Callboy fans bought them so that it looks empty or maybe they plan to stage something ??

Felicia Lu and Malik Harris are the best options for Germany, but I wouldn’t even be surprised if Emily Roberts ends up winning the national selection.

This is just such a bad joke! The only decent entry is Felicia’s, but it’s saddening to see these guys not having any dignity or artistic integrity whatsoever 🙁

Felicia Lu is the only one who listens to the critique and feedback by the fans and announced that she will revamp her song “Anxiety” for the national final to make it sound more “ESC-like”.

I don’t think that this will make “Anxiety” a song that could win the ESC or even reach the top 15 but at least she tries and listens to the fans – other than the NDR who refused to give a wildcard to the most promising contender…

So: Felicia Lu for ESC! 🙂

Thank you Germany for the apt name for your national selection this year, as we battle to see if Felicia Lu can get Germany 12 points while the others get 0.

Germany can get either 0 or very few points. Very low quality selection.

Felicia Lu will be the winner …. and will maybe finish around 20-22 in Turin. All others would finish “Rock bottom”

The fact that people gave 32 euros to watch which song will come last this year….

Well, to be fair we haven’t heard the song from UK yet. They’re always a potential last place. Personally, I really like ”Anxiety” – but yea, it’s not very competitive.

Uk needs to try hard to produce something worse than this

That´s unfortunately the bitter truth… Shame on you Germany for this very weak preselection and for kicking out Eskimo Callboy

I wouldn’t count the UK out just yet. They’ve been very quiet.

The UK are usually at a disadvantage regardless because everyone says “Oh but it’s the UK” hardly a fair analogy but go off with your 0 points entry lmao
