Eurovision 2022 Schedule 26 February

Today is relatively calm compared to the last few Saturdays. We have just four shows in total, and one is already over and done with. Today’s selections include finals in Australia and Finland and semi-finals in Sweden and Iceland.

Before the night is out, we will have two new Eurovision 2022 tracks to add to our playlists. Here are all the details you need for 2022’s eight Saturday of national selections.

You can follow all the results on wiwibloggs (and via our Twitter: @wiwibloggs and Instagram: wiwibloggs) throughout the day. Here’s a quick rundown of what’s happening, when it’s on and how to watch.

Saturday 26 February: Eurovision 2022 Selection Shows

Eurovision: Australia Decides 2022

🏆 Grand Final

Time: 10:30 CET to 13:10 CET

Well Australia has actually already decided. They were selecting on Saturday night, but of course that means all the action happened in the morning for Europe. Spoiler – Sheldon Riley won with “Not The Same”. Nonetheless, as always, the Aussies put on a great show and it’s well worth checking it out on catchup if you missed the liveshow earlier on.

Finland’s Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2022

🏆 Grand Final

Time: 20:00 CET to 22:00 CET

Finland’s UMK 2022 is shaping up to be one of the most-anticipated national finals of the season. Several of the songs have already become chart hits and many are firm fan favourites. Tonighteverything will come to a head with the one-shot final. The Rasmus have the international clout, Bess is topping local charts while Isaac Sene and Cyan Kicks and the rest are bubbling under. It’s really anyone’s game!

Sweden’s Melodifestivalen 2022

Heat four | Deltävling 4

Time: 20:00 CET to 21:30 CET

Sweden’s heats are almost over. Tonight is the last one before we move on to the semi-final, formerly andra chansen. There are some returning fan favourites in the mix including Anna Bergendahl and Klara Hammarström. As always, two of the seven acts will go straight to the final with two more going on to the second chance round.

Iceland’s Söngvakeppnin 2022

It’s the most westerly of all national selections. And tonight, Iceland’s Söngvakeppnin 2022 returns to our TV screens after a year off. Five acts will compete for two places in the grand final.

For me tonight is all about Finland. UMK has the most interesting songs out of the 3 NF‘s in my opinion.

With half of the songs chosen, and mostly all of the NF songs known, this season is already shaping up. My wishes / expectations for the rest of the selections: Finland – Wish: Bess / Expectation: The Rasmus (All seven songs are good, and I’d be okay with any winner here). Iceland – Wish: Marketa Irglova / Expectation: No idea, really… Romania – Wish: Andrei Petrus / Expectation: No idea, but so far, rumors are saying Dora, so I’m going with Dora… However, rumors were saying Cezar Ouatu, and that didn’t happen, so honestly it could be anyone at this… Read more »

I’m rooting for Olivera to win UMK just for the title of her song!

I (and perhaps most of us) will be watching UMK, where I like most of the songs. I really hope that the show will match if not exceed my already admittedly high expectations. Rooting for the Rasmus to win! See you in a few hours!
