Albania has been breaking all sorts of traditions this year. First it wasn’t the first country to selection its Eurovision song, and when it did it decided to say bye to the ballads by going uptempo.

And now, after months of working out the precise language and sound she wants to take to Eurovision, Ronela Hajati is poised to release the revamp of her song “Sekret”. The revamped version and the music video will be published on the 4th of March.

For the revamp, Ronela worked with the well-known producer and songwriter Raoul Lionel Chen, better known known as Diztortion. He is famous for his work with Stylo G, Lethal Bizzle, Tinie Tempah and Sigma.

The Eurovision version of the song will not be completely in English — it will also contain Albanian and Spanish lyrics.

On Twitter, Ronela recently made it clear that she’s not bothered that some people are upset she’ll be singing mostly in English.

“For everyone who’s asking me why ‘SEKRET’ is in English: Cause I like it better like that and it’s my song! Thank you, bye!”

For the videoclip, Ronela has worked with famous Albanian producer and TV host Ledion Lico.

In the video, Ronela will portray an Albanian queen who stares down some big challenges and endures mental turmoil. During the video Albanian actor Florian Agalliu will join her as she remembers the past — and confronts a secret…

In her recent interviews Ronela has said that for the video clip and her Eurovision performance, she will pursue different concepts from her National Final performance. While at Festivali i Kenges she was performing as a warrior, in her videoclip she will be playing an Albanian queen who goes mad after learning her secret is going to be revealed…and taken away from her.

Ronela Hajati will be performing in the first half of the First-Semi Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2022.

What are you expecting from the revamp? Will the revamp help you fall in love again with the “Sekret” of Ronela Hajati?

Gutted to hear this as I love the Albanian version. The version including English in the FiK final sounded a bit hamfisted and didn’t pack the same punch for me. I’m worried the song will lose its edge with the translation but I’ll cross my fingers the update is strong. It’s been my favorite winner so far and I want it to place highly!

I think this is very unique occasion to see what we always wanted to see: Albania sending ethnic bop, and it’s in Spanish too! I think Albania could pull Bulgaria 2016 result if staged well, this year seems to be weaker compared to previous years and Albanian song stands out so far.

To all the haters: she gets to bring the song she wants and you get to vote for it. Its that simple.

Well, there goes one song that I used to really like. I liked the full 100% Albanian studio version before FiK. Then she ruined it with the English.

Most bilingual/multilingual songs are cringe. Just stick to one language. I wish she would have kept it in Albanian.

Disappointed :/

Wait until the song is out before you pass judgment. It could turn out good or bad.

And multilangual songs are nice move to be a bit more understood by the whole Europe. That s not a bad thing nor a cringy thing. France and Ukraine 2016, Romania 2015, France 2017 and 2019, Italy 2012, Bulgaria 2016 to à less extent, Israël 2014
All examples of not cringy songs.
But there were cringy attempts. France 2020 is the best one i think haha

The verses in Albanian were so beautiful. Stil I didn’t like the rap parts and also the tacky hair dance. Maybe, Alban Ramosa with Theje would have better chances.

nah I disagree. This is her experience so she is allowed to do whatever she wants to her song. The language will not affect the overall quality of the song so she can change it if she wants

I’m very intrigued with Ronela’s revamp, I feel like it’s a hit-or-miss situation but she looks very happy with her work so I trust everything’s alright! 🙂

The original Albanian FIK version was already so good. I am concerned if she’s even able to top it. Can’t wait to hear the English version to finally be able to give a full opinion. I just hope she didn’t make it worse. lol

Eurofans love the ”slay, Queen” type of bangers, and this year we are likely getting two of actual quality – Albania and Spain! This could be very cool!

Why do you talk on behalf of all Eurovision fans? You should talk just for yourself. For the ‘slay, Queen’ attitude is just enough to watch Drag Race. Music is something different.

She has been in my top 3 ever since she won FiK so I’m excited but also nervous. The instrumental changes soundes great in the snippet, but I’m not so sure about the Spanish lyrics.
