Are you happy with the results? Let us know below.
Zorja for Turin please !
I liked “Zorja” before but has really grown on me live.
It kind of reminds of “Zajdi, Zajdi (Dawn of a New Time)” which is in the Battlefield 1 videogame OST. It is a traditional Macedonian song as far as I know; a version of it was sung by Nina Kraljic in The Voice Croatia. It is more instrumental, atmospheric and laid back than “Zorja” but I would encourage you to take a listen if you liked this one.
zorja was perfect <3
Konstrakta to Torino NOW!!! One of the most memorable entries of the entire season, for sure…
Zoria is just bad. Bring Hurricane back!
How do you manage to get your own national final blocked by the EBU on youtube for copyright? XD
Luckily, I watched it already but still!
Probably because they showed parts of some Eurovision performances
My top 8 of tonight were:
1. Zorja
2. Boris Subotic
3. Igor Simic
4. Marija Mikic
5. Ivona
6. Angellina
7. Lift
8. Ana Stanic
Pretty close to the 8 that qualified besides Boris & Igor instead of Konstrakta & Biber 🙁
ZORJA! ZORJA!! ZORJA!!!
Zorya has a nice voice (but, every year there’s like at least 10 powerful voices so nothing to stand out) BUT in the end this is song not the voice competition and her song per se is just average, mediocre, even childish at some moments. This is something that we heard like milion times already and 15th place is guaranteed with this. On the positive side, her English is good so no 3rd graders same answer “yes, I’m Happy to be here” no matter what was the reporter’s question…
i’ve been saying this all along. a balkan ballad will qualify for the final and end up 15-20th. people have moved on.
Sorry but Zorja is such a mediocre 19th place final song, it literally goes nowhere. Ljubav me inspiriše is the superior ballad actually but I hope Sara Jo wins (unless her performance is really bad)
there’s no song quite like it this year. and songs like that tend to do remarkably, especially in televoting. ironic of you saying it goes nowhere and then praising sara jo’s song lol
Lift – Drama for me is easily the best, with some extra work they could be awesome
Minor comment before my triumphant explosion: Boris should have been a qualifier and Angelina needs to work on her vocals, maybe even fix the camera work too.
And now for the explosion: *Inhales and exhales furiously* “ZOOOOOOORJAAAAAAAAAA!” <3
Konstrakta!!!! and Zorja were the best of the night!!!
I only saw a recap so far, but here’s the sum of it: Zorja was outstanding, and should win it all. Wow! 🙂 Boris’ song is convincingly among the top 2 here, and his NQ is one of the most baffling choices of this NF season. Not being in top 5, okay… Not qualifying? How? His previous live performance was excellent, and the clip sounded good too. Origami feels even weaker as a performance than as a song. Congrats to Marija Mikic, my third from this semi. Konstrakta has a fun song, and this staging feels bonkers to fit it.… Read more »
Agree with you almost 100%. The only difference is that Marija was my 4th instead of 3rd.
How is NO ONE talking about Zorja?
It was so impressive that I went into the show having origami as my favorite and I left out thinking Zorja could win eurovision. Molitva vibes.
Everything was on point:
-Her vocals
-The staging
-Clothing
… Belgrade 2023? let’s see what Sara has to Offer. Unfortunately I see Sara winning the televise and Zorja the juries leaving room for some random old dude with a balkan ballad to win 🙁
Ana Stanic and Konstrakta were the best tonight.
Igor Simic, Boris Subotic and Mia robbed.
Angellina’s performance was very underwhelming
I agree! She was very stiff and her vocals weren’t the best
Konstrakta is absolute favorite. This is iconic on so many levels!
Konstrakta will close the final. They couldn’t arrange a more iconic way to end the show
Boris Subotic deserved the finals!!
The fuego cover… superb . The ammount of energy Ivana has omg.
Hurricane doing a cover of “Qele, Qele” is a nice surprise. One of my favorite Eurovision bops!
Edit: well, more a karoke than a cover, but it’s fun anyway! Then they did “Fuego” and now “Mata Hari”.
Mia was a pleasant surprise. Didn’t expect her and her dancers to have the best styling. If I’m not mistaken this is her second single. I hope to see her back with a better song.
I think third actually. All her songs are written by Aleksandra Milutinovic, one of the best Serbian musicians.
Awwww I’m melting. You could kinda see that Marija is pregnant, she has the glow definitely!
It’s still not their year, but I hope we’ll see LIFT in Eurovision someday.
I’m pleasantly surprised by how much effort everyone seems to have put in their performances. Keep in mind that 80% of the entries here are low-budget, unknown singers. I wish them all the best and to gain some traction from this festival
I was thinking the same. winning or not they all looked amazing. best show made by rts by far.
Off Topic: Austria revealed a snippet of Halo. Based of the snippet, I can confidently say it is only the same level as (or maybe even better than) Jowst’s Grab The Moment.
I just listened to it, I’d say it’s far better than Grab the Moment.
If this works out live with good staging this could go top 10 easily, but I can’t see it challenging for the win/top 3.
i was thinking the whole time, austria might be a dark horse. Lumix is very successful and young. they made a good choice.
I had to double take to make sure this was a legit snippet because I wasn’t expecting it AT ALL
I wrote “only the same level”, but meant “on the same level”
Konstrakta!!!! Very interesting. Did anyone get Rigoberta Meets Rayden vibes?
The lyrics and the message are incredible but it wouldn’t work in ESC because of the language. She has no chance of winning but at least she gained some new fans. I’m happy for her.
Trying too hard to be different, but not succeeding. Meh
She can write some satire maybe.
my biggest surprise is Bane Lali. Like the song is ok but his presence wow. the sex appeal too
amazing
Sorry I misread.
It’s only 8 songs in (for me at least) and all I can say is that Zorja will be unbeatable for me probably. The studio version was by far the best imo and this performance was Eurovision ready. Fingers crossed for Zorja to go to Turin bc that’s an amazing opportunity for Serbia and I hope they choose her.
amazing opportunity for the whole of europe to roll their eyes at another repeat of kruna. please.
Ohh, Angellina was a hot mess! I liked the concept, But there was no energy and no vocals.
Totes agree, the vocals were not very good. And the costumes weren’t good, and they shouldn’t have been all wearing the same thing. She was my favourite to win, but now I prefer Zorja for Eurovision
I was hoping that the performance would be awesome, because the song itself is meh. But there was zero energy and whole thing was just cringe.
I knew Angellina’s performance was gonna be bad, but this was a disaster. Textbook ”Go girl, give us nothing”.
I still can’t understand why they were all wearing the same thing, like what!?
What a pleasant surprise! Boris Suboti? “Vrati mi” – great vocal
so far beside Zorja Ivona’s Znam was pretty impressing for me. Compared to other Balkan countries, Beovizija has more quality acts it seems.
the production is INSANE even in non favorite acts. it’s amazing.
I am sorry for being off topic, this message is only for those who care. The list of the American Song Contest participants is revealed: Alabama – Ni/Co Alaska – Jewel American Samoa – Tenelle Arizona – Las Marias Arkansas – Kelsey Lamb California – Sweet Taboo Colorado – Riker Lynch Connecticut – Michael Bolton Delaware – Nitro Nitra Florida – Ale Zabala Georgia – Stela Cole Guam – Jason J. I know you all dislike my comment because the “Americans will misunderstand Eurovision and the American Song Contest will surely flop” and “The USA isn’t diverse enough to make a Eurovision style contest” type of arguments. But, lets all just give it a chance before we start prejudicing it.
As a Dutch person, I’ll watch ASC. If it is good, I’ll keep on watching and if it is bad I’ll quit watching it. Simple as that.
I, too, will watch ASC and give ti a chance. 🙂
Nice. Good to hear there are people on Wiwibloggs who don’t prejudice the American Song Contest.
if any place is diverse… the only thing is that it will be 95% in english, but the diversity is totally there. they’ll make sure of that.
I personally see the American Song Contest as a national selection anyways (even if the ASC winner doesn’t go to Eurovision), so I don’t mind it if 95% is English.
Ksenija playbacking happily to Sanja’s vocals was amazing XD they should’ve re recorded the studio version or at least do a pre recording track for today.
All interval acts are lip synced in the Serbian national selection. Always.
yeah but they could’ve used the pre recorded taped version. it looks cheap if ksenija is clearly lipsyncing to sanja’s last verse XD
Zorja was amazing! The look, the voice, the song. What was not amazing? Other people on the stage and Zorja “playing” the violine. If She gets rid of those, then she’s got my blessing too!
The other people are singing backing vocals?
Yup. They were very distracting. And they should go If you ask me.
Backing vocals are prerecorded, just like in ESC.
I know that these girls are actually top notch ethno singers (band Lucha), it’s crazy if they came there to lipsync.
edit: if anyone’s curious, search “LUCHA – Donke, mori, Donke devojke”. It’s hard to find them just by their name
I definitely heard Sanja so yes, they were lip synching…
The violine part was awesome, especially since it came out of nowhere and went nowhere. lol
But it is also connected to her past, so it makes sense.
she looks like madonna at super bowl, the song is boring and passe, the choreo imitates hari mata hari and joks… it’s not bad, but it’s far from ending up in the first half of the scoreboard in the ESC grand final. a song like this would never be a hit in serbia even anymore, it’s so 2008.
zorja had some amazing vocals! the staging is missing right now but i feel like 2022 stage will be perfect for this song with its natural qualities: the turning sun arches, waterfall… They can create that magical atmosphere song and the vocals present right now! Still wondering Sara jo’s live performance though.
I already loved the staging and performance. Simple and effective. The warm lightning and colors were very good.
Well, unless something really special comes up, Zorja already has my blessing with this live performance.
