Amen, hallelujah! Denmark’s Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2022 takes place on Saturday night, and eight acts will try to earn the ticket from Herning to Turin.
Following the release of all the competing songs, we asked our readers to vote for their favourites from the bunch.
A total of 1,188 votes were cast and now we have a result.
Conf3ssions are a favourite to win Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2022
Conf3ssions narrowly emerged as the poll winners. The trio earned 379 votes for their song “Hallelujah” – that’s 31.90% of the total.
The group consists of siblings Tobias and Sara Callesen as well as the friend and the self-proclaimed “bonus sister” Laura Lindell. They know each other through their shared love of choir and gospel music. This is something our readers have also resonated with through their DMGP 2022 entry.
Conf3ssions define “Hallelujah” as “a song of gratitude that contains everything we love about gospel: the community, the party and the enthusiasm for the music and the fact that you can just go a little extra crazy on stage”.
Coming in a very close second place are Fuld Effekt. Their song “Rave Med De Hårde Drenge” (“Rave with the tough boys”) picked up 350 votes (29.46%).
Despite the full-on rave sound, there’s still a message in the mix. The Danish group explain: “The song is a tribute to those who do their thing shamelessly, and to those who are often looked down on because they are different”.

I think REDDI is the best participant for Denmark in Turin and I keep my fingers crossed for the victory.
Even when I disagree with the majority, I normally can understand why the frontrunner is the frontrunner. But I’m failing to understand what people see in Conf3ssions. It’s so basic to my ears.
Here hoping that REDDI or Fuld Effekt steal the show.

I really hope Fuld Effekt make it to Eurovision. Nothing against Confessions, but there are so many songs already like it in the contest, we need some diversity. I have faith that we will be raving with the hard boys in Turin.
