Following a second-place finish at Eurovision last year, France are hoping to go one step further in 2022. The country’s national selection, Eurovision France, c’est vous qui décidez 2022, plays out over the course of Saturday evening, with 12 acts all in the running.

At the start of the week, we asked our readers to vote for their favourite acts.

They made their voices heard and cast a total of 3,051 votes. Here are the results…

Scroll down for full poll results.

SOA are a favourite to win Eurovision France 2022

In the end, it was a strong win for SOA. The brother-sister duo of Nathan and LudySoa earned over one third of the vote. Their song “Seule” (“Alone”) secured 1,046 votes – that’s 34.28%.

Fans have responded positively to SOA’s entry and really connected with the message. In an interview with wiwibloggs, the pair explained:

“Life is like a cycle, today you may feel ‘Alone’ but tomorrow ‘you’ll manage to find your place’. You are not alone.”

The other main favourite in this poll was Alvan & Ahez. They picked up the silver medal with 766 votes (25.11%) for their song “Fulenn”.

The last spot on the podium goes to Pauline Chagne. She’s captivated fans with her blend of synth-pop and harp accompaniment. “Nuit Pauline” earned 261 votes (8.55%).

Eurovision France 2022: The Format

The public account for 50% of the total score while the remaining 50% come from a ten-person professional jury. This panel is comprised of five French people and five from abroad. Last year, Alexandra Redde-Amiel, France’s Head of Delegation, said that “we designed an original voting system that gives the audience a greater influence”.

Just like 2021, the show will be presented by Stéphane Bern and Laurence Boccolini. Barbara Pravi will sing as the interval act.

Do you agree with the results? Are SOA also your favourite to win Eurovision France, c’est vous qui décidez 2022? Let us know in the comments below!

Alvan is the answer for France. Fresh, unique and catchy.

Alvan & Ahez should represent France in Turin this year! The language mix of French and Breton is stunning! All the competing songs are much better than the German songs yesterday evening.

My favorites are Alvan & Ahez and Pauline, but I would be OK with SOA too.

The thing is… I have this feelings someone may win this one coming out of nowhere. The fandom has 2 clear favorites, but the field seems very level to me.

Soa would be the best choice for Eurovision by far, but at the end the viewers will choose Alvan & Ahez…and with quite a margin I guess.

So, um, maybe a stupid question. But why is nobody talking about SOA’s song melody being identical to Coldplay’s “The Scientist”? I mean it’s just four common chords but I just can’t unhear it cause it’s so similar.

And don’t get me wrong, I love Seule, I don’t think it’s a rip-off, just an obvious and conscious homage maybe?

Well it’s going even faster than last year!
They are not even yet “officially” contestants for France that the accusations have already landed.
What I would answer
 1) there are only twelve notes in music, the combinations are not infinite, necessarily after a while we fall back on a combination that already exists, and the proof is that
2) Coldplay was inspired by “Isn’t it a pity” by George Harrison to create “The Scientist”. you didn’t forget that in your comment ?

I don’t hear it myself but it’s possible there are the same four chords… Google “4 chord song” by The Axis of Awesome, it’s pretty funny, they mashed up dozens of famous songs with the same common chords

I can’t choose between Seule and Fulenn, the live performance and the staging will be determinant, but I think SOA has more potential for Eurovision. I’d like to know the running order for this evening even if with the 3 rounds of voting it has no impact.

I would be okay with Alvan&Ahez, Pauline or Saam winning they are my top 3! Nevertheless I am not that much in love with either one of these songs.

I hope Pauline wins by some miracle, I’m in love with her song and if it wins it will be first in my ranking so far.

Fingers crossed I can’t lose one of my favourites tonight. I really like all of the top 5, so hopefully France is going to be sailing straight in towards the top of my leaderboard.

The answer tonight! SOA and Pauline are among my four favorites, so it reassures me to see that the site’s voters also appreciated their songs. I didn’t get hooked on the title of Alvan & Aez (even though I love Breton and Celtic music and I’ve been hoping to see Cécile Corbel as a contestant for years), but I could be wrong and if it’s them who represent France, the important thing is that other countries like their song!
