In 2021 we gave our hearts to “El Diablo”. And in a matter of days we will find out what devilish delights Cyprus has in store for us this year. On Wednesday 9 March, CYBC will debut its entry for Eurovision 2022.
Cyprus to reveal its Eurovision 2022 entry on 9 March
The broadcaster announced the reveal date on social media. “The Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation will present the Cyprus entry for the 66th Eurovision Song Contest to take place in Turin, Italy next May on: Wednesday, March 9th at 16:30 hrs local time (15:30 CET) on the afternoon talk show of CyBC 1 OLA STON AERA”, reads the post. “Tune in to meet the artist, the composing team and to watch the music video!”
The announcment is accompanied by a short trailer which features some of the island’s most iconic Eurovision entries throughout the years, including Eleni Foureira (2018), Tamta (2019) and Ivi Adamaou (2012).
Cyprus took a similar approach in 2021 with the launch of Elena Tsagrinou’s “El Diablo”. It also received its world premiere on afternoon TV.

Guys the song is called ELA witch mean s come is an ethnik song . GOD BLESS ? PLS BE A GOOD ONE cause this year is not good at all.
I have a feeling that cyprus is going to their first win
I AM waiting for their song
hope it’s not “hola mi bebebe”, that’s been taken…
Let me guess..Eleni Foureira (version 3) and song with spanish title. LOL
If the rumored singer Andromachi does indeed represent Cyprus then you’ll get something very different than Fuego. She sings only Greek songs (laiko)!
Maybe Andromachi Dimitropoulou? Apparently that’s what people say. I hope she will sing a ballad in Greek because she has the voice made for that!!
Get ready for some Head and shoulders and pineapples.
I like pineapples
Now imagine if Cyprus gives us a dramatic opera, or an industrial electronic song, or a rock song, or a rap song… Perhaps any of that in Greek? Sure, Fuego, Replay, and El Diablo are all *bangers*, but Cyprus has to have some more ideas, right?
I’M SO EXCITED!
Cyprus deliver each year without fail. People may criticize Cyprus for being mainstream, but I would rather have a perfectly executed mainstream pop song than something that flops. In such a lacklustre year, we can certainly count on Cyprus for something decent.
Ngl I wouldn’t be mad with Cyprus if they send another Fuego -like banger this year
People criticize Cyprus for not having a lick of Cypriot involvement in their entries. The last time was 2017.
I hipe it will be Eleni Foureira! As a surprise.. if this happens she will win for sure brcause the songs we already know so far are really average.
If they will not send eleni foureira then i would like a male performer singing a strong ballad in their native language… or generally something different to what they served us the previous years.. i will be really sad if they will give us again a cheap, cheesy, pop song!
Another cheap, pop ethnic song for Cyprus. Enough.
What if Dami would not add a pop song to their playlist?
Apart from Fuego what else was ethnic?
You better deliver Cyprus, we want you to win. You deserve it for all the ambition you show, but the Fuego formula will not work forever.
Cyprus would be a great never-won country to score a win…I hope it’s an great ethnic bop (with the ethnicity leaning more Cypriot and less Spanish)
Hopefully it’ll be something different to the last four years of Cyprus entries!
Hopefully, it won’t! We need a pop banger.
“SloMo” and “Get That Wolf a Banana”.
Cyprus has chosen Andromachi for 2022. She is not a Foureira or Tamta, her songs combine traditional elements with current trends but the problem is that they gave her an Alex P song. We havent heard it yet but i hope its not a fuego rip off again but something like Na soun Psema which is fantastic
I LOVE THIS SONG
As a Greek person it is rumored and probably true that andromachi will represent Cyprus with an ethnic pop song with Greek and English lyrics
Oh god, why they took them so long? We already know the singer (a Greek female singer…again). Not sure why Panik Records is so against choosing Cypriot singers?
Prolly they work mostly in Greece, so their talent pool is mostly Greek
Cypriot singers go to Greece to succeed anyways.
Would be nice if it would be someone born in Cyprus, of course.
Greece had a lot Cypriot singers represent us though. Off the top of my head I can name Greece 2006, 2011, 2012, 2015. And many more before the 2000s.
Almost only women in TV ad, but it be another female representative for Cyprus in ESC again?
