The final weekend of Eurovision 2022 national final season is fast approaching. Amongst the countries choosing their acts for the song contest is Iceland, with the grand final of Söngvakeppnin 2022 hitting TV screens on Saturday.
Five acts have made it to the grand final. By the end of the night, one of them will walk away with the trophy.
But who do you want that to be?

Söngvakeppnin 2022: Show details
Söngvakeppnin 2022 is hosted by Björg Magnúsdóttir, Jón Jónsson and Ragnhildur Steinunn Jónsdóttir.
After performing in Icelandic during the semi-finals, those that reach the grand final must then perform in the language they intend to sing at Eurovision, should they win Söngvakeppnin 2022 and be selected as Iceland’s entry.
The winner of the grand final will be determined over two rounds. In the first, a 50/50 split of viewer and jury votes will select the two superfinalists. The final decision in the superfinal will be made solely by public vote.

Well, it looks like the sisters won’t be the only ones singing in Icelandic for Saturday’s Final. Stefan and Katla will sing in Icelandic as well so it’s 3 out of 5 entries in Icelandic for Saturday.
All acts (except Amarosis) are quite good but Sigga Betta and Elin are on a completely different level… They would be the only act to be in my top10 out of the 5 contenders
Wait, Daughters of Reykjavík is growing on me, actually.

I’m really hoping for Katla. The Icelandic version of her song is really captivating and the instrumentals are just magnificient.
Sigga, Beta & Elin or Reykjavíkurdætur for me, both will stand out on the Eurovision stage.
I think Sigga, Beta & Elin but ngl, I’m pretty indifferent with whatever Iceland chooses this year

Sigga, Beta & Elín and Katla are the two clear choices here. The rest are either a little messy or bland
Honestly, I’ll be fine with Sigga, Beta & Elín, Katla or Reykjavíkurdætur winning.
The sisters have my favorite song of the competition, though Katla has probably the most competitive entry (there’s nothing like her song in the 1st semi and it’s a style that usually works in Eurovision). The rappers would bring something completely new to ESC, I just don’t know if viewers and juries are ready for that.
Sigga, Beta & Elín. The only song I like and they’ll sing in Icelandic which is a huge plus.

If the Daughters of Reykjavik manage to win this, the European public could witness such lyrics as “F**kboys they keep me dry like an umbrella” and “I’m the virgin Mary, baby I’m the wh*re”. Make of that what you will.

Really don’t get the appeal of Reykjavíkurdætur’s song at all. It reminds me of Cardi B’s “WAP”, which is about every wrong with music of today
There is nothing wrong with WAP – people sing about what they want to sing about and express themselves however they want. They do not have to comply with your mysterious rules of what music should be.
Take a listen to Lucille Bogan – a singer from the 1940s. She sang whatever she wanted to, a lot of similar lyrics to WAP. It is nothing new.

Haven’t even read your first sentence completely before feeling nauseas…music like WAP is what causes people to agree with Salvador Sobral’s speech.
To me it sounds like an unpolished, raw K-pop song. It’s got its strengths but could be better.
Though it’s not my favourite song or performance in the selection, actually I’m not at all into it. I do believe that Reykjavíkurdætur should represent Iceland.
There are a lot of moody and or dark style songs in Eurovision this year – they would surely be able to breath some fresh air into the contest and stand out. So to me they are the best choice for Iceland both in terms of placing and for the contest in it self.
Change the lyrics, and Reykjavíkurdætur could be a potential top 15 in the final!
And the song too… Are not the Spice Girls whoever want to.

Finally! You’re one of those very few people who love Don’t You Know! Me too! It’s just adorable and I love their voices! (I actually have a bias towards sibling bands/groups!) I don’t understand why it’s sooo underrated. I was so happy when they got the wildcard.
Really any of these except Stefan Óli would satisfy me. Really great NF.
For me it’s Katla all the way. She’s a great live singer, song is impactful, and she’s likable.
The country song by the trio of sisters really gave me life.
I might be in minority, but I think Iceland will struggle to qualify with whoever they pick.
Daughters of Reykyavik will win easily I think, but Amarosis and “Dont you Know” is among the top 10 songs of the season for me. Such a little gem. Reminds me of “Rock Bottom” (UK 1979)
