The grand final of Melodifestivalen 2022 is just a few hours away. All 12 acts are battling it out for the trophy and the chance to represent Sweden at Eurovision in Turin.

Earlier this week, we asked you to vote for your favourites from the line-up.

You responded with 5,240 votes and the result was a landslide.

Cornelia Jakobs a favourite to win Melodifestivalen 2022

Ever since she performed in the first heat five weeks ago, Cornelia Jakobs has been a standout favourite amongst fans across the board. And that was no exception here. Her song “Hold Me Closer” picked up a staggering 40.36% of the vote – that’s 2,115 votes in total.

It’s not just fans that are getting behind Cornelia Jakobs. Bookies and betting exchanges are also strongly suggesting she could walk away as the victor. Smarkets probabilities give Cornelia Jacobs over a 57% chance of winning the final.

Coming in a distant second place is Klara Hammarström. This year marks Klara’s third consecutive appearance at Melfest and she’s been getting better each time – failing to qualify in 2020, advancing to the final via andra chansen in 2021 and now a direct qualifier in 2022. They say “third time’s a charm”, and it could be for Klara. Her song “Run To The Hills” picked up 810 votes in the poll (15.46% of the total).

Your third spot on the podium goes to LIAMOO, who sings the house song “Bluffin”. This is also LIAMOO’s third time at Meldoifestivalen, though he has been a direct qualifier every time. Finishing sixth in 2018 and third in 2019, he’ll be hoping the upwards trend continues for this year. Y’all awarded the Swedish singer 409 votes (7.81%).

Poll results: Who should win the grand final of Sweden’s Melodifestivalen 2022?

  1. Cornelia Jakobs – “Hold Me Closer”, 2,115 votes (40.36%)
  2. Klara Hammarström – “Run to the Hills”, 810 votes (15.46%)

  4. Medina – “In i dimman”, 392 votes (7.48%)
  5. Cazzi Opeia – “I Can’t Get Enough”, 319 votes (6.09%)
  6. Tone Sekelius – “My Way”, 247 votes (4.71%)

Melfest 2022: Show details

The grand final of Melodifestivalen 2022 takes place on Saturday 12 March. It will be held at Friends Arena in Stockholm.

The result will be determined by a combination of votes from a jury and the public at home. After both have been combined, the act with the most points will emerge as the winner.

This artist will then head to Turin in order to represent Sweden at Eurovision 2022. Sweden are scheduled to perform in the second half of semi-final two on 10 May.

What do you think of the results? Is Cornelia Jakobs also your favourite to win Melodifestivalen 2022? Let us know in the comments below.

People are pissing on themselves out of excitement over much more mediocre entries just because they don’t come from Sweden. This anti Swedish mood is extremely boring and id!otic.

I like this song a lot.
What I find interesting, a lot of statements people make to critique other songs such as, it’s formulaic, the lyrics we’ve heard before, it’s not unique or modern, it’s very middle of the road etc , I feel apply to this song but no one is saying these things. Maybe it’s just me? Or maybe somehow Sweden is untouchable?
That’s said, it’s all down to personal taste and I do really like this song and would be happy if it’s top 3

I want Liamoo to win and I don’t even care if it is something they usually send or not. I love the beat, I love the tune and his staging is excellent.

I don’t think Anders can win tonight. I’m expecting that he will be in 7th-12th place with the juries giving him max 30-35 points.

This will be either a Cornelia or Klara victory!!!

I’m also very curious about which artist will return next year.
This year: Klara Hammarström, Lillasyster and Alvaro Estrella returned from 2021.

I highly doubt he’ll be that low with them. I don’t think he’ll be lower than 4th overall

I don’t get why Smarket puts so much faith in juries, they have proven many years to have terrible sense of music so I don’t know why everyone think they will vote for a good song like Cornelia’s over the others. I mean Melodifestivalen juries love trash so I’m not so sure they will support Cornelia.

The point with juries is to see which songs might work in Europe. Not sure if they support trash. If you look at the odds for jury voting the odds for Bagge has shortened and is now currently second. That doesnt of course mean he will get second place, just that he might get high jury support.

Surprised Liamoo is that high rated seeing how it is the type of song people are tired of Sweden sending. Klara too. Its polished to the max, only being performed by a girl

They got Anders in the lineup for the viewing figures and now they might seriously have to take him all the way to Eurovision. It’s been a long time since the Melo winner seemed to be ranking so low with the fandom and international audience. If he gets to Turin, he will struggle to qualify

I do think he will qualify but reach low in final.
But I dont think he will win. He even said winning is low down on list. Providing juries dont rate him high he wont win..
Even people in Sweden who think he is the best sort off know he wont win. But yiu never know..

I really don’t get the hate for Anders. Yes he is an old(er) white guy but he is a legendary songwriter who recently found his voice, it’s a cute story, and the song reminds me of Paradise Oskar, all grown up 🙂

The fact that he produced for Celine Dion in 1995 I dont think should be a factor. People will see him as a former songwriter past his prime

On audio it’s gotta be Klara for me, if only the staging wasn’t like a weird screensaver and the costume!

This is also my personal Top 3.Cornelia,Klara and Liamoo.Hope they all get good results with a crown for Cornelia. We shall see, excited about this final anyway. Some are dissapointed in Melfest this year and I understand why, probably because there is no exceptional song here, something that you could say will 100% compete for a Eurovision win.But the overall level is quite good,I really like more than half the songs in the final.Sometimes when you watch a final is much more enjoyable and fun to have a good general level than just one or two good songs and nothing of interest outside of those.

Run to the Hills is my favourite from this year’s festival. I think the running order has probably ended its chances and Cornelia is fighting for my second place with Medina so if she is the run away winner then I won’t mind. Anders has a charm in his own way and he may have a good run as well so whoever wins will most likely be running straight into the top half of my list for the finals. It should be an enjoyable show once I get back from my run later!

Running order only can hurt her with juries. And she may still get support but I’m not sure. Televote can vote through all the show so it won’t have an important effect I think.
