This video reaction to Portugal’s song is so beautiful. They are italians and get all emotional and start crying.

Absolutely love this song. So hypnotic… This a masterpiece. No other song this year is as original and breathtaking as this. If it doesn’t get to the final and finishes in the top 5 it will be a big dissapointment. I feel jealous about our neighbours sending Saudade and Spain sending a reggeaton song…

What an embarrassing comment section, moderators should really do something about it ._. This is a great choice, and a lovely song. And, on a side note, two haters from Spain do not represent the rest of us. We love our neighbours, and we have a huge respect for their music. We follow Festival da Cançao every single year, and in fact, in 2022 we finally had the luck to be able to watch it online through RTVE and on television through TEN TV? … it was even trending here because people were so invested on it… stop with the… Read more »

Don’t worry, Mary, there’s a lot of picky people of every nationality online, and, to be fair, everyone is entitled to have their own opinion regarding the songs. People on this side of the border also need to learn how to take criticism. It’s not a big deal. Anyway, there’s no rivalry or desdain between Portugal and Spain (someone asked). I think pride is a better word. We have this imaginary line dividing us but we’re both iberians and share centuries of history in this little corner of the world (for good and bad). I honestly can’t tell the difference… Read more »

Can’t blame the Portuguese at all for getting so passionate about this entry, this is pure melancholy, the way they know perfectly how to showcase, MARO’s got such a mesmerizing voice and captivating stage presence, the staging also feels like they don’t have to do too much to change it up for Torino (probably a smart move in hindsight to start off with her alone for the SF performance and then generate some more buzz with the improved final version). Maybe it’s just the fact I’ve already got a huge crush on her, but I really think this will all… Read more »

Portugal may surprise this year.. Now this is not my cup of tea, but there is something about this that feels a bit magic, a bit different. It also feels a bit incomplete if that makes sense? Still, I think it will make the final, and go left hand side. It may do a Black Mumba, with the juries giving it over 100 points and the televote much less, but I think about 100 points and left hand side. I don’t really love this, I like it, but it’s got a great vibe. 7/10 for me, based purely on taste.

Love Maro’s song and voice. She’s going to do well in Eurovision, cause there’s something so pure, unique and organic about this performance that I cannot imagine juries not loving it, at least from the juries with some criteria.
By the way, I’m spanish and I don’t get all the supposed hatred we profess to Portugal. Guess some try to generalize behaviours cause they don’t have enough arguments to deffend themselves…

Frustration and envy for not winning since 1969 and for finishing in the bottom 10 every year since 2015. So they turn their hatred to their smaller neighbour Portugal (an easy target), especially when they see that their neighbour is getting some love from the community.

Portugal used to be one of my favourite ESC-countries a long time ago but, unfortunately, has become one of the most boring ESC-countries, sending the same type of song year after year. My two cents: I am happy and surprised that this song was picked up, in spite of not being my fav. I think it is very telling that the public picked it over other much well established artists and more mainstream songs. I do thing that with the right concept on stage it can be a very nice ESC moment. Will be it enough for qualification? I don’t think so. 🙁 It’s not competitive enough. I am fearing it will be Iceland and Finland 2017 or Portugal/Austria 2019 again. Great songs, but that don’t have enough pulling factor to make… Read more »

This is Low Key!! But…high impact on your soul if u r ready to listen what she is singing!
The song is about the feeling of losing someone…death, a relationship…doesn’t matter! For Maro was about losing her grandfather, but we all can make the song our own…
Amazing, i think we will see a lot of covers! The song is special

It’s a portuguese entry, what else?
Classy, classy, classy.
Becoming in love.

A Portuguese entry, of course. Boring as usual.

Benji is the perfect example of a boring ESC fan. The brainless type of fan.

After having read your superintelligent comment, I have completely changed my mind: Now I believe that the Portuguese entry is the sure winner of ESC.

Estoy de acuerdo. El comentario de Catherine, que me insulta solo porque no me gusta la canción portuguesa, sí que se comenta solo.

Good voice, but the song has no structure, nothing to grip me in. A sure NQ.

The Black Mamba were also a sure NQ, let’s not forget that.

I really like his song and his softness in his grain of voice, Portugal is one of my favorites this year. It’s calm and with a captivating voice!

There is something for everyone, and I find that it is not boring because for me it is as bewitching and moving to listen to it as Salvador Sobral!!

FORCA PORTUGAL !!
