With less than two months to go before the first show of Eurovision 2022, fans have been impatiently waiting to find out when they might be able to get hold of tickets for the contest.

News about this has now finally arrived, with the EBU revealing that tickets for the semi-finals and grand final will go on sale from Thursday 7 April.

Eurovision 2022 tickets on sale 7 April

The sale of tickets will be done through Italian company TicketOne.

This will include tickets for all nine shows – three live shows, three jury finals, and three family shows.

The live show is the one that everyone is familiar with — the live TV broadcast.

The jury show takes place on the eve of the TV broadcast. It will be the performances from this show that are judged by juries across Europe and Australia. The show is intended to be identical to the live broadcast in every way, including intervals. However, the voting at the end will be simulated, for obvious reasons. Additionally, it is at these shows that the automatic qualifiers perform. A clip from the jury show performance will then be broadcast during the next day’s live semi.

The family show is effectively a matinee performance which takes place on the afternoon of the live shows. Like the jury show, it matches the live show in every sense except for the false voting at the end. Also, these performances won’t be judged by either juries or televoters, so artists may be more relaxed.

Further details of the Eurovision 2022 ticket sale will be revealed soon.

Ticket delay

Fans have had to wait much longer than normal to get tickets for Eurovision 2022.

In previous years, tickets were often sold in several batches, with the first of these tending to come out around November of the year prior to the contest. Lisbon 2018, Stockholm 2016 and Copenhagen 2014 tickets were all released in November. Vienna 2015 and Rotterdam 2020 were just behind with a December release (but the latter event was later cancelled).

Things have been delayed in other years, though. For Tel Aviv 2019 and Kyiv 2017, tickets weren’t released until February of those contest years – still two months prior to Turin 2022.

The EBU and host broadcaster Rai have not made any statement about why tickets for Eurovision 2022 have been so delayed. It’s very possible that the Covid-19 pandemic has had some influence, with Italy only very recently easing some restrictions in the country. Organisers may have wanted to wait and see what the full story was likely to be in May, rather than selling tickets they later have to cancel.

Are you excited that tickets for Eurovision 2022 are finally set to be released? Are you hoping to snatch some up? Let us know in the comments below.

We are four friends that talked about going to Eurovision for several years, but never had the chance. This year we finally booked flight and Airbnb early to go from Norway to see our woolfes in Turin (Even before they won in Norway, caulse we thought they would win). Today we all sat ready in line to get tickets but nothing worked, every time we came further the page went blank. So no tickets, but still going to Turin

To all of those people who are able to get tickets, y’all are sooo lucky! (and I hope you have lots of fun <33) I’m saying this since I can’t even watch the three shows live since I have a really important series of exams during Eurovision week. I probably have to watch everything on the 18th. It obviously won’t have the same excitement as watching it live 🙁

Really wish the big 5 could perform in full as part of the interval act in their respected voting semi’s.

They sort of do.. If you go to the jury semi, some of the top 5 are recording their entries after the contestants perform. So If you’re planning to go, I suggest to pick a semi where your favorite top 5 perform.

Took them long enough to finally announce a date. Same with the slogan, stage design, hosts… I hope that whoever hosts next year’s Eurovision will reveal these crucial details a lot faster

Can you really blame them with all the Covid coming and going constantly? It’s nearly impossible to calculate the budget and the returns while you have no idea if you gonna sell tens of thousands of tickets or will end up with an empty arena because of restrictions. Those thing mess up everything and you can’t really expect the same time frames to be met as in Eurovision 2015.

The hunger games will begin on April 7th then… I swear I’ve actually not been eager for that day to come because of how scared I am to not get a ticket. It’s the first time it’s technically possible for me to go there (not living that far from Torino + having a train to go there without having to take planes) so I am crossing my fingers already that I can get one (of each sf and final that would be amazing).

I have done the same. I was planning to go with my mom but after it took THIS long for the ticket sale date to be revealed as well as the year’s quality being significantly weaker than the previous year, we decided it’s better to go another year.

There’s nothing wrong with family quality time. The mistake Vivian is making is assuming they will get the chance to go another year. Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today.
