Italy doesn’t deserve to be in top 10. They haven’t been in any events, they boycote all events and to be the favorite in the odds’ is shame, I hope they wont be in top 5. I like Albania and Poland one of them has quality of winner

Neither did they last year and they won. The ESC is not about preparties, as much as we may love them and it is a good help for the eurofans to know the artists better. But, being realistic, Italy always brings top artist, already known in Italy and sometimes abroad, who have other commitments apart from Eurovision. It is normal that they cannot take part in europarties when they have other previous commitments.

I would actually prefer my country to bring a top artist that cannot attend these parties because they have concerts, for example.

It’s a pre-party, there nothing to rehearse. The point with them is simply to meet fans. Of course she will rehearse when it’s actual Eurovision time.

This may sound like I’m the most boring woman in the universe. But then it must be so. I liked Netta’s message and do not like when women become sexual objects. I love Spain’s song when I just listen to it and do not understand the words, and above all do not watch the video with latex which is nothing but objectification of women and a glorification of the sex industry. No, in Sweden I can say that a similar number would lead to scandal and would never be accepted at the melfest. Will my daughter grow up in a society that is permeated by… Read more »

Thanks for sharing that interesting perspective. I will further discuss the cultural connotations of Spain’s entry when the Wiwi Jury review’s Spain’s song. Similar for Albania’s entry. I don’t see them as polar opposites when it comes to empowerment, but I can see why others would find them jarring.

She better deliver in Turin. Swedes are still furious that Bagge didn’t win and there are still people that think that melfest result was rigged.

Ouch. I think Cornelia will be fine, but if Sweden really wants to send Bagge then they need to petition SVT to do so, and also compensate Cornelia somehow. Good luck.

these parties are a waste of money for fans. The sound is horrible, stage is tiny and looks like the stage of a high school auditorium and there’s nothing different in every preparty performance. I remember the London party which was probably the worst this year had tickets out for 60 pounds or something which is ridiculous.
It’s cool for the artists to meet other Eurovision artists and enjoy some support from ESC fans but other than that, it’s pointless.

If you don’t like it, don’t go. (Then they will stop, and you can organise your own bigger and better party.)

I’d agree with you regarding London (and yes Purple Mask, I no longer go to it for that reason), but the other parties are held in much bigger venues. Tel Aviv even looked like a proper Eurovision show. I hope London can get a similar site in the future.

I disagree and I’m happy that these parties exist. They give the artists a chance to promote themselves, give the fans content. The London Party was trash tho.

Lot of good singers there. We already knew that for some like Ochman who is the best vocalist this year but the surprise of the night for me is Jeremie from Belgium. He is very underrated and will receive good points from juries. It will be more difficult to convince the public but it’s always the same with Belgium. Except for Blanche in 2017, public gives less points than juries.

Singing over a recorded vocal track is just awful to the ears with the pitches differences. Another proof that ESC uses live pitch correctors.

I am always very impressed with how perfect Ronela and Ochman sound. They are definitely the most consistent singers this year, alongside Mia actually. I don’t like her song but I can’t deny she sounds amazing live. I think Armenia and Lithuania sound amazing live as well. I wonder what Monica will do on the Eurovision stage since her biggest charm is her stage presence. I feel sorry for Emma since she has such a consistently good voice and good fashion but she has such a generic forgettable song… I wonder why the vocalist of We are Domi always has… Read more »

Don’t the people who buy tickets fund these parties?

If you’re asking about the artists’ attendance, like Nadir missing 5 or 6 previous parties, then I guess some broadcasters might have very limited budgets.

I loved Alvanez’s performance. There were some issues with Alvan, but they seemed to have improved their coordination and harmony a lot. If they will create nice camera shots and polished performance they could bet both jury and televoting support and that could be nice news for them I guess.

I’m from Sweden. Hmmm… Cornelia has to learn how to control her feelings when she id overwhelmed by the reaction of the public. It is clear that her voice are affected by her emotions when she meet the crowd. I hope the fans of Anders Bagge won’t have right in Turin. Some of them are still furious that she won, and if she doesn’t deliver in Turin. Well, I wouldn’t like to be Cornelia.

If Cornelia performed well at MelFest, it stands to reason that she should be fine for Eurovision. I think she’ll do very well, largely because her song is stand-out perfect in a year of “meh” songs.

I think when it’s time for competition Cornelia will get her act together. At these pre-parties there is no reason to hold back emotions when meeting the fans. Anders Bagge wouldn’t make it at all. His stagefright is not appealing and would most probobly make Sweden miss the final. At least Cornelia looks like she loves what she’s doing.
