The timetable for the Eurovision 2022 rehearsals has been published. The first batch of first rehearsals will commence on 30 April. As part of its partnership with TikTok, the European Broadcasting Union has barred press from watching first rehearsals. This is partly to ensure it has “exclusive digital content” that’s only available through its TikTok account.
At the recent Head of Delegation meeting, the EBU press team said that:
First rehearsal footage will be exclusive to TikTok for 24 hours.
Each video will be a maximum of 90s and will convey a 360 scope of:
- Artists getting ready backstage
- First reaction to seeing the stage
- Wide shots of the first rehearsal
- A short interview about their first performance
So that you can plan your viewing schedule, and watch for leaks on TikTok and elsewhere, we’re sharing the preliminary rehearsal schedule below.
You may ask, “what do they do after their first rehearsal and before their press meet and greet?”
Well, each delegation has 20 minutes in the “viewing room” after their rehearsal to view footage with producers. They then have to attend a 35-minute digital session with the EBU-run Eurovision web site and social media team.
Because no press are allowed in the press centre, the press meet & greets will be held online.

Just a note: This post originally said Greece would rehearse before Iceland. That is because the EBU’s preliminary schedule had the following misprint. A subsequent schedule printed online corrected the error, as you can see below. Just clearing up the confusion which we’re seeing in the comments section below!
Any news about a new wave of tickets to be released?
The fact that some of y’all will do anything BUT download tiktok for a couple days is so embarrassing and childish. Like dude, that app is not gonna ruin your life if you download it to watch the rehearsals. Also, reading these comments, it’s obvious y’all know nothing about Tiktok AT ALL.
TikTok is cringe.
I am excited for ESC 2022!! But, before the contest, there is a “pre party” being held in my country’s capital city, Dublin, with 8 winners. 1 Norwegian, 7 Irish. This year’s contest will be amazing!!
Off topic but important:
Sergey Lazarev is gonna perform at a pro invasion concert on 29 April.
I am so glad I always hated his cheesy entries and kitchen sink stagings!
Link please
https://lipetskmedia.ru/news/society/sergey-lazarev-i-zhasmin-vystupyat-zarossiyu-v-lipetske/
Thanks for the link and for letting us know. Personally I think he was forced to do this but of course that is just my opinion. We can’t really know for sure.
He was forced? He can be neutral all he wants but performing at the pro-invasion concert is a statement. Kirkorov hasn’t performed. He did perform. And his caption on his last IG post is ridiculous, he’s caling out everyone for hating Russia? Really??? He is a disgrace and I’m glad he’s not coming back to ESC now!
Well… when it all started it wrote a long post saying he was against the war. His management wasn’t happy about it and forced him to delete everything. Idk if it’s back, but his IG disappeared for a while. It’s very strange he changed his mind all of a sudden. Might have been forced to do it.
Yeah, I didn’t really like them either. I preferred Dima Bilan and Manizha’s entries.
I think it’s a good think we get to experience it all at the same time because well, some press members, not all of them, tend to be “too much” with their opinions and first impressions on rehearsals — at least, as a Spaniard, I am quite tired about the overly dramatic and negative remarks coming from part of the Spanish Eurovision press over our candidates rehearsals year after year… the TikTok thing well, I guess I can work with that!
Already did thanks : )
What is finally happening with Israel? They are in the rehearsal schedule. Does this mean they’ll be there?
No, we don’t know yet. I think this pretty much confirmed we are not withdrawing but we don’t know if the Live On Tape will be used or not.
Michael had an interview with EuroMix where he said he is currently rehearsing as usual and when asked about the LOT he said it is not something that he would send but if that is the last resort he is thankful for the opportunity and that is that. The LOT was recorded after the X factor final and it was pretty rushed (Just like the actually x factor performance).
Australia was also part of the rehearsal schedule. They give equal time to the delegations.
nobody said anything, maybe you want it to happen, hmm
I have TikTok and am willing to share with those who don’t – if you tell me where and how.
Please on youtube?
Leak anything you can on YT
I think we do not see the rehearsal actually – missing times when we could have seen only live show 🙂
I don’t really care too much that first rehearsals are TikTok exclusive. As long as we get 30s rehearsal clips of the second batch of rehearsals in the ESC YT channel I’m good.
Also for those who don’t use TikTok (Such as myself) we can just look for leaks the first 4 days and then enjoy the full 360 30s view of their stages at the 2nd batch of rehearsals.
Usually that’s happening when there’s a complicated staging and the production team needs to set things up, so they put the particular rehearsal right after the lunch break.
Nostradamus 2012 is 2021 ? Is 2022 a Bad Year? Prove 2021 that history is an arranged hoax? or astrologist have intuicion from years statistic? I think this is a bad year for this things.
Why is Greece rehearsing before the Iceland? Was there a swap in the running order that I am not aware of?
To everyone complaining about how bad tiktok is – it depends on the user. I spend around 10-15 minutes a day on tiktok (based on my screen time reports), which is not much. There are some days when I do not open tiktok at all, and some days when I spend a little bit more time on there. Here are what videos showed up on my feed when I opened tiktok now: 1. a recipe – not those trendy tiktok recipes you may have seen, a good hummus recipe (I save them to my favourites to try them out later);… Read more »
Plus, you do not have to get tiktok to view the rehearsals, you can just view the through the browser by opening Eurovision’s tiktok page.
Does it concern you that they might make a biometric map of your face and send it back to Xi Jinping?
Pretty sure it happened anyway. He responded on Grindr and we are meeting up for brunch next Thursday. I’ll let you know how it goes.
It probably won’t go well, so be careful. China banned Grindr before the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, no gay people allowed. It was okay, though, Grindr didn’t want to be there anyway. China wanted all their information to blackmail people.
The rehearsal can change it all.. the performance of the song could make a bad song shine and make it Q to the final and even be a top 10 and good song to be a NQ and a total flop. Cant wait! To see Israel & Cyprus rehearsals.. goodluck.
this appears to be an unpopular opinion but i’m super happy tiktok is involved with eurovision this year. it’s a new chapter for the contest and a step towards eurovision being a truly global event. i’m not saying that non-european countries (bar israel and australia) should be allowed to compete, but it’s not fair to let the rest of the world miss out on the greatness that is eurovision. tiktok was instrumental in the worldwide success of arcade, toy, shum, and måneskin as a whole so i welcome this change and cannot wait to see what songs can make a… Read more »
just to add on, måneskin are nearly a household name here in the US, cant think of a eurovision winner who achieved that since celine dion. it’s mostly due to beggin’ being a radio favorite over here but none of that would not have been possible without tiktok, you dont have to like the app but it’s undeniable that it holds the future of the contest
thank you! Finally someone with common sense here. If it wasn’t for Tiktok, esc 2021 wouldn’t have gotten as big internationally as it got. Also, Måneskin wouldn’t be were they are without Tiktok. People like to complain for no reason at all.
i’ll join my fellow tiktokless old gays and hope someone will upload the clips on youtube because i ain’t downloading that app
download it you are missing out
on more headache-inducing noisy and poorly edited videos for people with a short attention span yea. i have tiktoks popping up on reddit and twitter from time to time and they’re all like that lmao
Hey, another old no-tiktok gay here. And I don’t download tiktok because I don’t want to have a chinese application browsing data and stuff on my phone. Knowing how China behaves with those critics of China’s dictatorship. So i am not very happy EBU involves tik tok in Eurovision.
I hate TikTok
Can I just say as an old school ESC fan… it breaks my heart to see so many negative and hateful comments to each other. We all love the contest and are obviously passionate about it and yes, we will have different opinions but the contest is supposed to bring people together. Have a bit of respect people. It saddens me to think out fandom attack each other on forums that we are so lucky to have. With all that’s going on in Europe, please be kind
I agree with you. Unfortunately, the nature of social media skews towards negative commentary, behaviour and experience. Wiwibloggs could provide etiquette guidance but that would mean turning bloggers into moderators, and might involve censuring some of the site’s most prolific commenters. Considering negative responses and reactions are almost always better for engagement (and therefore advertising revenue), it may not make sense from a certain perspective to moderate much at all beyond the site’s filter. Then again, other prolific commenters have also left, such as Joe and Tibor, following abuse—so arguments about keeping up engagement go both ways.
Are you guys of WiWi going to livestream during the rehearsals like the past years? Or are you not as a team allowed in Italy? I enjoyed Susan. I wonder if her blood moon is rising 🙂
Will Esma be there again?
Yeah, what’s up with that? Why are those two country switched around?
turn this around by reykjavik daughters’ impact
‘Performers are required to wear their full costumes for the 1st rehearsal’
This is new, right?
I’m not sure it even makes sense. They don’t know for sure what they’ll be wearing until they actually try them out, that’s what rehearsals are for. Like Destiny last year.
No change allowed then ?
I feel like it says more that to not wear just normal clothes, since some acts in other years wore just normal clothes. For example Malta Eurovision 2019 performance, she wore just white jumper, pants and shoes thats all and then for the performance it changed.
I think it was up to choice of participants in past whether they wanted to wear their full costumes or not.
I hope the livestream of the actual contest, at least, is on YouTube. Otherwise I’ll have to watch it from SVT. I’m at work during the broadcasts; so, I have to find a way NOT to allow any results (the qualifiers or the winner) to come across my eyes before I watch the recorded shows.
Usually there is on YouTube, but without commentary
Unless you live in the US where most Eurovision live performances after 2015 are geoblocked.
I had a friend in San Diego who used to cross the border to Tijuana so she could watch the live shows on YT lol
I live in NYC. I have a VPN, set to the Netherlands because the Dutch transmission has been very reliable in the past. I hope. YT didn’t geoblock it at all of their international sites (including YouTube NL).
I really hope we will get some clips from the rehearsals on YT. A big part of the Eurovision for us Eurofans is these two weeks of rehearsals when we watch the livestreams the rehearsal clips from the Eurovision channel etc. And I would get it if they cancelled all these so that the rehearsals weren’t made public at all, but to cancel them so that Tik Tok can be benefitted is ridiculous. Will we be able to watch the first/second rehearsal clips on YouTube this year at all? And will you guys from Wiwibloggs be allowed to attend and… Read more »
From the 2 rehearsal is open , we will miss the first one, wich is a shame cause it is all the fun.
You can just watch them on tiktok without even installing tiktok – through the browser. I see no problem at all with this.
If they think I’m gonna download this awful, manipulative and brainwashing app, they’re so damn wrong. I think I can wait 3-4 days for clips on YT. Besides, I waited for a year. So they are free to shove their special business partnership in a specific private area of them.
TikTok isn’t really different than IG, FB or YT. They do the same thing but their algorithm is actually better. The fact that you don’t know this app and acting out because you heard some scary stories about it is just silly. If you use the mentioned above apps, you have no reason to be afraid of TikTok.
the thing is that i don’t actually need any more of these apps in my feed! I guess you’re familiar with YT Shorts. I’m guessing this is something very similar to tiktok and i can assure you there isn’t anything worse than that. I just feel like it’s making me more stupid. The dangerous trends, the irrelevant music covering them, the way it’s even designed to make you addicted (ok all social media tend to work like that) make me not even attempting to try it. I might be wrong, but i feel like it has destroyed my generation (gen… Read more »
TikTok learns what you want to see very fast. If you are not into the stupid sh*t you won’t see it. I see a lot of stuff related to my interests or my job. I learn a lot of new things on there actually. So no, the dumb trends are not the whole thing.
Yes. Let TikTok learn everything about you and exactly what you want, when, how and why. You will make perfect drones when the time is right and the technology is ready.
You are probably one of those people that think that birds are government cameras, aren’t you?
Becoming addicted or not is all on the person who uses the app, not the app itself lol. I have TikTok but I feel no desire to open the app unless someone sends me something from there to watch. At the end of the day though, now YouTube and Instagram have these shorts and reels so it’s whatever on which app you go lol. Also, you don’t know how it works right? If you have specific interests it will show you them, same as youtube or instagram. I don’t know what bullshit people are fed, but my Tiktok, Youtube and… Read more »
Funny how you talk about all this yet you get easily sucked up in social media, you probably believe everything you see on there. Wake up and live a bit
all your comments are so right, people on this are so mad for no reason at all lol
Your tantrum is ridiculous. They don’t owe you anything. They could as well decide that you’ll not have any access to the rehearsals like any other show. That would be actually better for the artists and teams who are working on the show.
They’re a union of public service broadcasters, what we want is public service. This is not public service.
Yeah, of course. Selling TikTok to innocent victims is not.
Yes? Every comment? You read my every comment on this website? You rather a liar or a creep then. Or a lying creep.
you sound 12, insults are cheap and embarrassing, I can already feel the essence of disappointment coming from you. this is why eurovision acts don’t always interact with fans..
I love how your comments to me are absolutely pointless.
On one hand, rehearsals should be rehearsals, the crowd (and also the press) should not be allowed to watch them (if it was up to me I would only allow footage from dress rehearsals to be shown). On the other hand, Eurofans and their crave for the behind the scenes drama is what pushes the EBU to do this. So, we have ourselves to blame.
nah… I doubt the EBU cares about the behind the scenes drama, this is just money speaking louder
Someone demands a bigger and more spectacular show every year which inflates the spending. Who can it be? Ah those are the Eurofans as well. You can’t demand a spectacular, over the top expensive show but then cry about the fact that the organizers are seeking sponsorship deals.
Ana out here speaking the truth, but everyone else living in delusion and downvoting them.
Of course it costs money to organise the show, of course they want to make money for themselves as well. For many, this is their main job and how they make their living (including the main producers).
They do these sponsorships to make the show better FOR YOU. And should they work for free? “Oh, they do it for the money” is such a stupid comment. That’s how the world works, almost everything is done for the money.
People don’t understand that the more sponsorships will be involved, the less tax payer money will be spent. People in general don’t tend to think much, they just want to be angry at something and bark about it on the internet.
good tiktokers do us a favour and leak the videos to yt and twitter
I thought first rehearsals were closed this year because it’s what’s best for the performers. A rehearsal that’s actually a rehearsal, with no pressure. How silly I was. It makes me sad, and even angry, to see the EBU doing a deal with TikTok.
Sigh. I thought that was the reason too. Looks more like an EBU power grab if it’s sharing footage of rehearsals anyway.
I thought the whole closed first rehearsals were reserved for junior Eurovision
WTF? So there won’t be any Youtube 1st rehearsal clips on the ESC channel ?
Nope. And it’s annoying because I hate Tik Tok with passion. What a sh%t platform to put the rehearsal clips on.
Y’all have to stop hating on Tiktok. I guess you hate it because “there’s only young girls dancing on Jason Derulo” ? This is so much more than that.
I hate it because it’s a disinformation kingpin, as bad as facebook.
That depends on your algorithm, I don’t get any disinformation on there (unlike facebook, which I had to leave because some of the “friends” were sharing it).
That just means you’re on the wrong side of Tiktok…As any other app, Tiktok is large and has vast communities of different people with different interests.
Which members of the wiwi team will be in Turin after all? Does anyone know?
Fingers crossed the Bulgarian guy is kept home this year. He was dismal last year.
yeah no offense to the good sis but if you read this please don’t scream over the songs lmao
I’m so excited!!
I will miss the livestream and Suzanne describing and drawing the outfits. Do you Get access to the second rehearals?
Yes they do get access for the second rehearsals.
