Turin, Italy

Eurovision 2022 is fast approaching. And just over one week before the first delegations step foot in Torino, the city has released details for EuroClub 2022. Instead of the usual nightclub venue for delegations, accredited personnel and occasionally fans, organisers have instead opted to open ten EuroClub “spaces”.

Eurovision 2022 in Turin: EuroClub spaces

The ten locations are:

Clubs

  • Pick-Up Dal 1971 — a popular location for club nights of an eclectic mix of styles and genres.
  • Supermarket Club — conceived especially for live music, the club also hosts special evenings, artistic performances and multimedia events, from theatre to literature and music.

Coffee Bars

  • Otium Pea — located on the top floor of Green Pea, regarded as the first Green Retail Park in the world,  this lounge bar has a focus on wellness and relaxation.
  • BAUHAUS — is a multifunctional space located in the courtyard of the Paratissima Art Gallery, under the Mole Antonelliana and behind the Teatro Regio.
  • One Apple — Located near Via Lagrange this bar offers simple and natural food. Its name comes from the saying ‘An apple a day keeps the doctor away’.

Hubs

  • La Centrale — Located in Lavazza’s headquarters, Nuvola,  is a former power plant built just a few minutes from Turin’s historic centre. The venue houses event spaces, regularly hosting cultural and entertainment events.
  • Snodo — It’s known for DJ sets, a stylish cocktail lounge, socialising and haute cuisine.

Restaurants

  • Eataly Lingotto — Here visitors get the chance to browse food markets, sample local flavours at delicacy stalls, and peruse a selection of dining options, with an outdoor space for special events.
  • Osteria Lanterna — Is a cosy, family-run establishment, open for lunch and dinner.

Shop

  • Mercato Centrale Torino — Located in Porta Palazzo, this is the largest outdoor market in Europe. It offers 4,500 square metres across three floors and 28 artisans’ shops, a restaurant, a cooking school, a beer house, a café and a space dedicated to events.

Will you visit any of the locations? What do you think of having 10 EuroClubs? Let us know below.

Also, OGAE guys are bellyaching about how hard the EuroClub stuff has been to organize and whatnot. TBH, I’m not one for “clubbing” (I’ve got Sensory-Processing Disorder so a room full of flashing lights and loud noise is my hell) and with COVID still being a thing it’s better to err on the side of caution, so an assortment of restaurants, markets, and other cool places is much more up my alley. I want every excuse to explore the city while I’m there and this is the perfect opportunity to do it while getting my Eurovision fix!
