Here’s a press release worth sharing: Go_A’s front woman Kateryna Pavlenko will deliver the 12 points from Ukraine’s jury during the grand final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2022.

“I am very pleased to be a part of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest,” the “SHUM” singer said in a statement released by Ukrainian broadcaster UA:PBC.

“I remember our joy when the first 12 points were announced. It’s nice to know that I have an opportunity to make someone even happier.”

Separate to the delivery of their jury points, UA:PBC has confirmed to Wiwibloggs that the televote will function as normal this year with people voting as they would during any other edition.

Last year Kateryna led Ukraine to fifth place in the contest, coming an impressive second with the public.

Their electro-folk offering stood out in a tough competition, making viewers bob their heads as they listened to Kateryna’s distinct voice ebb and flow to an electro dance beat. The staging — sort of winter in outer space — was gripping and very deserving of its high finish.

Waiting for the moment when the MC announces “Next we go to Kyiv/Lviv/Ukraine, where we have Kateryna Pavlenko!” and the biggest applaud ever in the Eurovision history.

Love her as a singer, but she doesn’t speak English… Wondering if they did that to prevent any political message during the points announcement.

you definitely don’t follow her, she speaks English quite good now, she even gave few interviews in English in Europe recently, I’m glad Kateryna was picked as spokesperson

My bad if she does speak English. I said that based on her interviews from last year where she was always answering in Ukrainian with an English translator.

You think it’s hard to learn: (1) “Hello. Thank you for a great show.” (2) “Our 12 points go to [Country]”

There are 2 sentences in my comment, I guess you must have stopped after the first one. I’ll copy-paste the second sentence here, which is the point that I was making: “ Wondering if they did that to prevent any political message during the points announcement”. Now you can drop the gun. 😉
