Eurovision 2022 second rehearsals for semi-final two are ongoing this morning. And North Macedonia’s Andrea takes us one song closer to the lunch break. What was “Circles” like on the Eurovision stage? Let’s find out…
North Macedonia’s Andrea “Circles” — Eurovision 2022 second rehearsal
Padraig: This performance is all about Andrea. There are no dancers or props and even the LED effects take a back seat for the most part. Dressed entirely in black, she carries the entire weight of the entry on her shoulders. And she does so admirably. Her vocals are spot on and brimming with feelings. In fact, you’ll be left emotionally exhausted by the end of the three minutes. It’s very intense, which may or may not be a good thing. The LED, while minimal, is very effective. At one point we see the stage start to break up with pieces of the floor whirling around in a circle. Elsewhere, we see handprints on panels towards the front of the stage. The effects are possibly underused, although who’s to say what the delegation had planned for the dark hole of doom on the back LED screen.

Let’s face it, she will be Bottom 3 of the semi and I hate this fact since she is almost in my top 10 of the year. Good luck!
I also really love Andrea and the song. She is also high in my top, but she is so underrated so I dont see it qualifying 🙁
Unfortunately, she’s dead underrated and didn’t take off. I think this will be my favorite NQ of this season 🙁
Agree with you all. I really like the song since the beginning and she comes off as a nice person. But for some reason it doesn’t appeal to many people, and, honestly I’m not too convinced by her vocals either…
She should be proud of this but I think qualification will depend on juries and how all the sad ballads in this semi shake out: Sweden, Poland, Australia, Azerbaijan, Montenegro—they are all competing for the same space.
It’s aight.
The nice thing is that recorded version and live sounds exactly the same. Well done
I am loving Andrea’s passion in this performance. She is the central point of this effort and the success of it will very much depend on whether the juries and public believe in her and her performance. I do, I’m not entirely sure if enough people will. The staging is complementary, not necessarily elevatory.
When this doesn’t qualify, Andrea will be the last person to blame. She has done everything she can with this. Looks like it’s going to be a great performance of a bad song. ;;
Andrea is amazing, everything else here is meh.
I hope she will qualify. Sadly I cant vote thursday
