Semi-final two eurovision 2022

Eurovision kicked off with a glittery bang on Tuesday night. And the fun and madness continue with semi-final two tonight, Thursday 12 May. Here’s what you can expect and, most importantly, how you can tune in and watch the show.

Watch Eurovision 2022 second semi-final

Time: 21:00 CEST on Thursday 12 May

Check your local listings for the correct time in your timezone.

Eurovision 2022 semi-final two — YouTube

As has been the case for the past several years, the second semi-final of Eurovision 2022 will be live-streamed on the official Eurovision YouTube channel. This stream will not contain commentary or voting numbers. It is available worldwide except in Australia, the Czech Republic, Greece, the United Kingdom and the United States. Viewers in the first four countries will be easily able to watch the contest via alternative sources listed further down this page.

Eurovision 2022 semi-final two — United States of America (USA)

As in 2021, American viewers will be able to watch the show live on the Peacock streaming platform. The show will air at 15:00 New York time or 12:00 in Los Angeles. Former Olympic ice skater Johnny Weir will provide commentary.

Alternatively, U.S viewers can try their look with some of the participating broadcasters. The downside to this option is that you may have to listen to commentary in a language that you do not speak.

Eurovision 2022 on Television and Radio

Of course, Eurovision 2022 will air live on all 40 competing broadcasters — although some countries may air the semi-final in which they are not voting in on delay. As well as TV, many will also stream the shows on their websites. Several will simulcast on radio too. The competing networks are listed below.

Click the links to visit the individual broadcaster website and check their listings.

The contest will also be shown by broadcasters in non-competing countries, including Kosovo.

Eurovision 2022 second semi-final: What to expect

  6. Malta: Emma Muscat “I Am What I Am”
  7. San Marino: Achille Lauro “Stripper”
  8. Australia: Sheldon Riley “Not the Same”

  16. Belgium: Jérémie Makiese “Miss You”
  17. Sweden: Cornelia Jakobs “Hold Me Closer”
  18. Czech Republic: We Are Domi “Lights Off”

We will also see snippets of performances from the United Kingdom’s Sam Ryder with “Space Man”, Germany’s Malik Harris with “Rockstars” and Spain’s Chanel with “SloMo”. The three countries will also be voting in this semi.

Opening and interval acts

The opening will feature an ode to Italian hand gestures performed by Alessandro Cattelan. Meanwhile, the interval acts will be Il Volo, Laura Pausini and Mika.

Are you excited for semi-final two? How will you be watching? Let us know below.

I always like to look at views at YouTube after the semis. If I look correctly, the top 3 are now Serbia, Poland and Romania. And I am glad to see that. Btw Romania is the biggest grower for me. I was lukewarm about it, but now I just love it! I was so happy to see him qualify!

How come Belgium and Finland made it!? Finland’s vocals were even more off than usual!
I don’t even wonder about Azerbribejan bc everyone already knows why they’re in

Finland I imagine had lots of tele-vote support, but I’m shocked by Belgium! Belgium was flatter than Cyprus, so I don’t know how it got through. At least Switzerland was a jury song, but Belgium might have received more tele-votes.

Johnny Weir on the US broadcast loved Belgium’s performance. He knows what impresses an audience.

I’m annoyed that Ireland did well and made it into my personal predictions but NQ’ed lol. Georgia I knew I was gonna lose here but I still voted for em 🙂

I got 9 outta 10. I figured putting Romania out was a mistake. I was joggling Romania and SM. Nothing shocking happened.
I would have put Ireland and Georgia through instead of Azerbaijan & Finland. The Rasmus’ performance was great but I still really dislike the song.

idk I felt Lauri’s vocals even more off than usual and we all know why Azerbribejan makes it through every year (though I hope next year they start at least taking risks (as in sending bold entries in genres that aren’t usually featured at the contest) so they’re less boring).
Also, I didn’t expect Romania to make it to the final, I was surprised! 😮

I’m not shocked one bit by the results. I still don’t like Lauri’s vocal or the song and Azerbaijan is just…ugh… but I knew both would Q.

I got 8/10. Yes I also missed Romania for San Marino and I had put Malta instead of Belgium (both are jury pleasers as you also said below). Ah 8/10 in both semis, I could have done better. Sad for San Marino (and Georgia) missing out.

It turned yesterday with Diodato as well. Apparently it works, but it takes 40 seconds more than expected which caused EBU a panic attack because you know, creativity is ok as long as it’s all scripted and rules-sticking

Over here in the UK there wasn’t much of a warning, which I hoped there would be since the rehearsal snippet came. Someone on Twitter said their child would’ve had a seizure after seeing it. 🙁 Kinda brings the song down.

The behaviour from the Israeli guy was appalling. There’s a very clear line between a “funny” cameo in the background and harassing the presenters and unfairly stealing the spotlight from everyone else. I hope this costs him votes if there won’t be any other sanctions.

San Marino likely got cratered by the jury.
Georgia was a fun mess, its not going through
Belgium could do it but it had a bad jury show
Romania could do it tbh
Malta and Montenegro were so forgetful
Macedonia was good but I don’t think did enough.
Cyprus did just enough for me

It’s a curious coincidence that San Marino and Malta are both in the 2nd semi when Italians can’t vote. Both Malta and Achille are very popular here and that would have granted some extra votes.

I hope I was wrong and Ireland Q’es instead of Belgium or something.
Should I change my predictions last minute:
-Sweden
-Serbia
-Poland
-Estonia
-Finland
-Aussie
-Azeri
-Czech
-SM
-Belgium

I still think the juries will make Belgium Q and that Israel Q’ing is statically really unlikely cus songs 1 through 4 qualifying is so unlikely.

This semi is much harder to call. We have songs that the televote will love and the juries will tank, and then the jury bait which is going to flop with the televote. A real battle of the two sides I think tonight.

Poland (12), San Marino (10), Serbia (8), Sweden (7), Czech Republic (6), Finland (5), Azerbaijan (4), Romania (3), Estonia (2), Israel (1).

For those who are interested, my order on the NQs is: Georgia (11th, ugh), Australia, North Macedonia, Ireland, Belgium, Cyprus, Malta, Montenegro. Wow!
