Eurovision winners Kalush Orchestra are auctioning off their Eurovision trophy and staging a raffle for their signature pink bucket hat, which frontman Oleh Psiuk wore onstage in Turin, in aid of the Ukrainian Army.

Oleh announced the auction and raffle on his official Instagram account on the 25th May and has been keeping us updated on the amount of money raised so far via Instagram stories.

By the end of the first day, the band raised over 60,000€ in aid of the Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation, which helps support the Ukrainian Army.

“We won the Eurovision Song Contest and now we want to help Ukraine to win the war,” Oleh said. “I want to sell this bucket hat and all the money will go for Ukrainian Army.”

The bucket hat and the Eurovision trophy will be sold separately.

It costs 200 Ukrainian hryvnas (roughly 5€) to enter the raffle to win Oleh’s iconic pink bucket hat, which he wore as he stormed to victory at Eurovision 2022 in Turin. Donations are being accepted at the Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation’s Monobank page.

200 hryvnas equals one entry and you are free to enter the raffle as many times as you like, with the winner being selected at random from the donors. Of course, the more donations you make, the greater your chances of taking the famous bucket hat home.

Separately, the Eurovision trophy will be awarded to the person who makes the biggest donation to the Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation.

The foundation are also accepting cryptocurrency donations, and the person who makes the biggest total donation, combining both cryptocurrency and traditional money, will receive the 2022 Eurovision trophy.

The competition closes on May 28th.

“Every euro of your donation can save the lives of Ukrainian soldiers,” said charity founder Serhiy Prytula on an Instagram post.

The donations page, where you can enter the raffle, can be found here.

Disappointing. They could raised money without selling the trophy. Not a fan of this idea.

I’m a bit lost here. Is there just one trophy that each year is changing hands between the winners (as the FIFA World Cup trophy) or there is a single trophy for each winner? If it is the first case, I guess they can’t just sell/auction something that isn’t of their property. If it is the second, then good of them.

I think all winners get one trophy. I remember a clip of Rybak, Jamala and Emmelie de Forest showing where they keep theirs at home (Emmelie’s is broken btw ^^)

Everyone gets an individual trophy, and each one has the respective year’s contest’s logo on it.

Thanks everyone. For some reason I thought it was like the FIFA World Cup trophy and the organization just change the plate or the logo each year. It was so strange seeing them auctioning the trophy and nobody from the organization saying anything.

rme whatever not like it’s a fairly won and deserved trophy, they never would’ve gotten it if it wasn’t for the war. guess they better thank putain for their “victory” and weren’t they going back to fight for their country. oh wait they’re going on a tour instead bc ofc they are.

No, looks like they won’t be joining Ukrainian army but instead exploiting the ESC winner’s year touring excuse.

Honestly, I think a museum should try to buy the trophy so that everyone get’s the chance to see a real trophy up close. Let it travel through Europe and put a Ukraine QR code next to it, it will get more donations than this way.

Good idea.

Very understandable.
These are just physical objects, it doesn’t lessen their victory.
I hope people will bid high for these. Goodluck!

The act is nice, the reality is not. You just know that the money raised will eventually go into politicians pockets who will go on trips to buy apartments. Anyone who is not aware of this… I hope you are, now. The world is greedy, regardless of the country, and this greediness affects everyone regardless of where they are located in. Rest In Peace Eurovision trophy! ?

I’m pretty sure if it is there’s they will be the ones to donate it to who they think is best, not the government.

I’ve tried a few times to donate now, but it always comes back with an error message, is anyone else having that problem?

Yes I had this issue also. You need your international code on your app to send the transaction. I have sent ten thousand Euros

Every 5 pounds is very important! Thank you for supporting our people! This is how the fees of famous people work, few people can donate a large amount. Having once refused a cup of coffee, as a result, by the forces of thousands of people, huge sums can be collected in a few days. And you know that in that big river of thousands of donations there is also a significant part of you!

?????! ?? Thank you! This is a huge amount! I am from Ukraine and I have known the Prytula Foundation for more than one year, I donated there more than once, like many residents of our country. He deserves great confidence, for all the years of work he has provided great assistance to the army. As a result of your transfer, you can rest assured that it will definitely reach the destination (this is me to the fact that there are comments of no confidence in Pritula).
I wish you win the main trophy!
