Ever since the unfortunate cancellation of Eurovision 2020, song contest organisers have required broadcasters to film backup performances in case an act can’t make it to the stage in May. Now, starting from Tuesday 14 June, the EBU is releasing almost all of the Live On Tape recordings for Turin 2022.
The recordings will be released on the official Eurovision channel across a period of 10 days. The publication schedule appears to be following the semi-final running orders. So, to kick things off, we’re getting the first three songs from semi-final one — Albania’s Ronela Hajati, Latvia’s Citi Zēni and Lithuania’s Monika Liu.
The remaining acts will follow over the coming days, although Montenegro and Poland have already jumped the gun and released their Live On Tapes ahead of time. Eurovision.tv states that a small number of delegations have opted not to release their backup performance, but doesn’t specify which ones. Ireland and the United Kingdom held out in 2021. However, the former is featured in this year’s trailer.
The first Live On Tape videos will premiere from 16:00 CET on 14 June.

What do you think of the Live On Tapes? Which is your favourite from today’s batch? Let us know down below.
The NQ was well deserved and it wan´t robbed by the juries- Ronela received only 46 points from the public.
It´s an unpopular opinion in the fandom but for me is Albania one of the worst songs this year especially this really vulgar performance.
Albania is good of how bad it is!
So apparently a few broadcasters who opted to not have their tapes uploaded onto the channel.
Last year it was Ireland and the UK but the teaser definitely showed Brooke so yey for that. I hope the UK will also show theirs too.
Is it just me or Lithuania looks better live-on-tape and in the NF than it looked in Turin?
Probably. Smaller stage, more intimacy. It just fits better.
Albania, just OMG
Albania and 1001 stories of what not to do!
Those dark, spooky and sexy vibes Ronala served at FiK were PERFECT!
Why on Earth did her choreographer, stylist and stage designer decide to change everything?
I’m still upset about Ronela, she could’ve done so well with the right team behind her.
Absolutely agree. I feel someone should have said to Ronela this doesn’t work. I fear now Albania will not consider another song like this due to this staging. Great shame.
The saying “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” definitely applied to Albania.
Indeed! The song was cool, but bad decisions around it ended up ruining its chances. It’s such a shame, bc I doubt Albania will feel like experimenting again in the short to medium term 🙁
Poland much better than in Final Show
lithuania looked better in the nf imo. 🙂
loved it in turin as well but overall production was better in lithuania which is embarrassing for rai.
RAI has set the bar so low that now I feel like even Lithuania would be a better host lol. No they most definitely would be, 2020 grand final of PIN was just amazing.
Albania looks messy like staged promptly. It is very noticeble Ronela transition moves weren’t smooth like she needed to process them.
It has become very apparent Albania had no idea how to stage the song an they felt compelled to change it post NF.
Poland looks really good
Albania was still awful. Lithuania & Latvia were the same as the national final: Amazing. Nothing shocking ; )
Albania should have not agree to publish this. It was very bad.
Ronela even commented on the official Eurovision account that she didn’t want to see her live on tape.
Sekret had so much potential since we first saw it at FiK, Ronela just needed a good team behind her for Eurovision, but she didn’t, at all.
Albania’s dancers wearing clownpants? I can’t stop laughing!
Another incredible job by Poland in this format
