Armenia Rosa Linn Snap Eurovision 2022 Rehearsal
Photo: EBU / NATHAN REINDS

Since June 22 her heart’s been on fire. And by June 26 her streams were too. That’s the day Rosa Linn topped the list of daily streams on Spotify among Eurovision 2022 songs with her entry “Snap”, ending Chanel’s 40-day reign with “SloMo.”

The chart, compiled by Eurovision Charts on Twitter, shows that the Armenian star racked up 334,310 streams on Sunday. That put her just ahead of Chanel’s dance bop (320,469) and well ahead of Sam Ryder’s “SPACE MAN” (219,309) and Mahmood & Blanco’s “Brividi” (187,071).

ESC_charts also points out that “SNAP” has made it into the Top 200 of the Shazaam global chart. Shazaam is, of course, the app that allows people to hold up their phones when they hear a song they don’t know, and within a few seconds the app will give them the title and artist.

“Yours” by JIN and “As It Was” by Harry Styles top the list. Rosa Linn is the only Eurovision 2022 act on the list, coming in at #192.

There are, however, several Eurovision artists from the past on this specific chart.

Måneskin are currently at #51 with “Supermodel” and #153 with “Beggin'”, while ABBA are at #75 with “Gimme Gimme! Gimme!” and #110 with “Angels Eyes”.

Alexander Rybak’s Eurovision 2009 winner “Fairytale” is at #176.

Armenia finished 20th in the grand final of Eurovision 2022. Rosa Linn qualified from Semi-Final 1, where she placed an impressive fifth. That was thanks to a third-place finish with the public, behind only Ukraine and Moldova, and a sixth-place finish with the jury.

This really surprised me in Turin with its effective staging. Glad it’s getting the recognition it deserves

Interesting that in Spain just now, the songs constantly on the radio are of course SloMo and some Maneskin but We Are Domi, another song which deserves so much more

Good for her, although her success in Turin was minimal this proves that although you can’t sell it live, a lot of people will listen to the audio.

I’m very happy for Rosa Linn especially because success of Snap is international, unlike Slomo which was leader of Eurovision acts in Spotify mainly due to Spanish streams

Why mainly due to Spanish streams? Are Spaniards the only ones streaming their own country’s song? According to your logics Snap is first now because maybe Armenians have begun streaming like crazy.

I’m happy to see Snap getting the traction it was meant to get. It’s a lovely song with a huge appeal and finally people is getting to know it! 🙂

I heard it on tiktok yesterday and I was surprised but glad for her, it could possibly explain why she’s getting higher and higher streaming numbers.

Finally recognition. Snap is such a smart track with a great vibe. While Kalusha for obvious reasons is the undisputed winner, and Maro delivered artistically the best act, Rosa Linn’s song Snap has the broadest appeal. Well done Armenia.

It’s so weird to see none of them made it to 500K yet after almost 2 months after Eurovision season 2022.

The running order killed her chances for a good, deserved top 10 by the juries and why not, overall.

This year was pretty weak in terms of Eurovision songs charting. Eurovision is watched by around 170 million people, it should be pretty easy to make a good song chart with that kind of engagement. The only reason the majority of Eurovision songs don’t chart is simply because the standard isn’t great. Euphoria is truly the only recent Eurovision song to go global and do well worldwide. The song is known everywhere, I’ve heard it in clubs in South America and constantly in European gay clubs. Arcade did well, but it was only on TikTok and Spotify, it didn’t impact… Read more »

ehm, arcade did faaar better than euphoria on the charts. euphoria didn’t do anything outside of europe apart from a #36 peak in australia. arcade, on the other hand, charted in all continents and became a smash hit especially in asia. also, i don’t understand why you look down on a spotify hit when streaming has been the main music consumption option for more than half a decade now. tiktok too, like that app or not but it helps a lot of otherwise unknown songs get out there.

And Tiktok is precisely the reason Snap has gone viral. A sped up version became popular on Spanish Tiktok and has now spread.

exactly, if it wasn’t for tiktok, Snap wouldn’t be so high in these lists.

Euphoria went #1 on 20 weekly European charts, whilst Arcade only reached #1 on 4 weekly European charts. Yes, Arcade had a worldwide reach thanks to TikTok, but it didn’t have the same impact Euphoria had in Europe. If TikTok was around in 2012 Loreen would’ve charted even higher in Australia & Japan, and she probably would’ve hit the US charts too. Overall, Euphoria isn’t just a viral TikTok song, it’s an iconic song that was HUGE in Europe and is still played in European nightclubs and known by Europeans to this day. Arcade on the other hand was just… Read more »

i don’t want to be the one defending arcade, but it’s platinum certified in the usa, it’s become a talent show staple both at auditions and to be used as the background song to sob stories, and it was a massive radio hit there. that’s the largest music market in the world. clearly not “just a viral tiktok song” lol.

Arcade is far more successful than Euphoria and were you asleep during 2021 as Zitti e Buoni had a lot of chart success.

Euphoria went #1 on 20 weekly European charts, whilst Arcade only reached #1 on 4 weekly European charts.

Arcade went viral solely due to TikTok, it’s literally known to people as ‘that TikTok song’. Euphoria on the other hand is known for being iconic and having a lasting impact to this day.

Also, Zitti e Buoni didn’t reach #1 anywhere

longevity > peaks. euphoria is mostly forgotten outside of european gay nightclubs.

It was played at a firework display as part of the HUGE display last year, I’ve heard it in stores too… neither the firework display or shop were exclusively GAY… even if the fireworks were a bit on the camp side,

Please… everyone in Europe knows Euphoria a decade later.

If you think Euphoria has no longevity you’re insane.

Zitti e Buoni reached number 1 in Sweden, Finland, Lithuania and Greece and entered the Global 200 at #22. The success of Maneskin in the past 12 months far outweighs any Eurovision act since ABBA.

Neither Loreen nor Duncan Laurence have had success beyond their Eurovision song but it doesn’t matter how these songs were successful as there wasn’t streaming when ABBA were around. Think about Kate Bush “Running Up The Hill” it became a global success all over again after the younger demographic heard it on a Netflix show.

Spotify is the chart that matters the most nowadays.

Spotify wasn’t popular in 2012, so we can’t use Spotify as a comparison.

We can use weekly European charts as a comparison though, and Loreen obviously had far greater success there.

I know! Just like Athena before her, she reposted my drawing of her when I drew all the acts one by one (Belgium, Switzerland, Moldova, Portugal, Iceland, Montenegro, Slovenia, Denmark and Latvia acts also did that, with Ukraine, Sweden, Netherlands, Ireland, Czech and France seeing my drawings on their stories without going further)! I also related very strongly to its lyrics and voted for it in the final alongside Spain – it provided a perfect contrast to Chains and would have made an excellent follow up had Athena got her top 3-10 place, provided her would-have-been performance was as smooth… Read more »

I did t drawings for all the acts this year, but this is the first time I did that – last year, I did a drawing of my stage concept for Athena, which had similarities to The depi evratesil performance and the music video, although having women as well as men made it look like Chanel too, as well as some new surprises such as clever LEDs, hand lasers, Athena removing her jacket, and having a crown on her head and being given a group lift at the end. She reposted it and sent a thank you message. Glad that… Read more »

when i first heard the song, i thought to myself, “this has all it takes to become a hit, but what are the odds an up and coming armenian artist signed to an indie label receives international recognition ?” glad to have been proven wrong. this emotional song, sung with a soothing voice and with great replay value, became my most listened song of 2022 sometime in april. it’s been growing by the day as more and more people organically find out about it. i hope nvak does a great job promoting it, because as i said, it’s a rare… Read more »
