Once you catch the dancing fever, it’s hard to recover. This is something Eurovision 2016 star Agnete knows after she returned to compete on Skal vi Danse All Stars. After battling it out on the dancefloor for a number of weeks, the Norwegian singer has unfortunately now been voted off in seventh place.

Skal vi Danse (Shall we Dance) is Norway’s version of Dancing with the Stars. For the 2022 season of the ballroom and Latin dancing contest, a number of past contestants were brought back to compete for a second time in an All Stars edition.

Agnete previously appeared on Skal vi Danse in 2014, where she was crowned the winner of season ten alongside her professional partner Egor Filipenko. For All Stars, the “Icebreaker” singer was partnered with Jørgen Nilsen.

Throughout her time on the show, Agnete delivered a number of good routines. This includes a Eurovision related dance in week one, performing the tango to Loreen’s 2012 winning song “Euphoria”.

In week six, Agnete and Jørgen managed to earn a perfect score of 30 for their powerful paso doble to Martin Garrix’s “High on Life”.

But, with so many past winners and finalists appearing on Skal vi Danse All Stars, the competition has been fierce from the very start. Despite fending off half of the other contestants, Agnete ultimately couldn’t keep pace with the frontrunners.

The Norwegian star found herself at the bottom of the week seven leaderboard following her Spice Girls inspired show dance. Sadly, the public vote was not enough to save her and Agnete will now leave the show in seventh place.

The dancing fever has taken over a number of Eurovision stars this year. Aminata and Jānis Pētersons are currently participating in Latvia’s Dejo ar zvaigzni. Over in France, Anggun is still in the running on Danse avec les stars; as is Junior Eurovision alum Carla, who recently performed with Bilal Hassani to “Voila”.

Eurovision 2016 champion Jamala was the latest contestant eliminated from Dancing with the Stars Poland.

Icebreaker is still one of my favourite Eurovision entries of all time. I feel really connected to this song and I was so sad that she didn’t qualify. I would love to see Agnete return to Melodi Grand Prix one day!
