In a month’s time, 16 acts will join the Junior Eurovision family after singing in Yerevan. But over in France, one of the contest’s alumni has been proving she’s also got plenty of rhythm in her feet. Carla has taken home the silver medal in Danse avec les stars 2022.
France’s Junior Eurovision 2019 star has consistently been a standout in the ballroom and Latin dancing competition over the past ten weeks. Along with professional partner Pierre Mauduy, Carla only dropped into the face-à-face (equivalent of the dance off) on one occasion.
The pair made it all the way to the grand final of the show, where they performed a powerful paso doble and stunning freestyle performance. After progressing to the top two, Carla and Pierre concluded their DALS journey with a beautiful contemporary number.
In the end, it was actor and singer Billy Crawford who came out on top with the most public votes. However, Carla has certainly shown her dancing skills are top tier.

Carla on Danse avec les stars 2022: Weeks 7-10
Below you’ll find a roundup of the dances Carla performed during episodes seven to ten of Danse avec les stars 2022. You can review our previous article for the results of weeks one to six.
Danse avec les stars is slightly more complicated than versions of the show in other countries, as the exact rules and format change each week.
Scores for most individual dances are out of a total of 40, judged by Marie-Agnès Gillot, Chris Marques, François Alu and Eurovision 2019 star Bilal Hassani. But, an extra fifth judge – Denitsa Ikonomova – was on the panel for week seven, making this main dance out of 50.
For the week seven choreography challenge and week eight second dance, the couples were ranked and given extra points accordingly. The combined total from these and their initial dance is given in brackets.
For the second dance of week ten, each judge voted for which of the final two couples they preferred. The final vote after the third dance was purely down to the public televote.

Were you happy to see Carla make it all the way to the grand final of Danse avec les stars 2022? Would you like to see her combine her singing and dancing skills at Eurovision in the future? Let us know in the comments below.
…..and to continue my earlier post here:
Mila Moskov should represent North Macedonia in 2024
Darina Krasnovetska or Olena Usenko should represent Ukraine.
Yes, Carla is 100 % ready to slay the adult ESC. Should she represent “La France” ….well, I don’t know – but you can read it down below in the comments – Switzerland or Belguim could be the right country for her to shine in the ESC.
Disappointed she didn’t win, but second is still a victory. Carla in Eurovision for sure but if she doesn’t want to get hatred and being underrated again she should represent another country but not France you know…
But what other country could she represent? In the old days, Luxembourg and Monaco would poach French singers to represent them at Eurovision but they’re not in the contest anymore.
Maybe Switzerland or Belguim? Both countries have notable French speaking populations and Gjons Tears sang in French for both his 2021 and 2022 entries.
I can’t believe I completely forgot about Belgium and Switzerland. You’re right, they do have significant French speaking populations.
I meant she should represent a country always beloved in this contest, always overrated to not get the hatred the french representatives get from the eurofans traditionally.
She should represent FRANCE in Eurovision!!
