Eurovision fans might remember Misscatylove from Moldova’s national selection longlist earlier this year. The non-binary artist participated with the song “Intro.” Even if they withdrew before the auditions actually took place, their entry was very much discussed and debated. And now they have teased a potential return…
Will Misscatylove return to Moldova’s selection?
Misscatylove got Eurovision fans’ attention when Moldova published its longlist for their 2022 national selection, as their song seemed to have no vocals at all. Instead, their entry brought a post-avant-garde sound, highly unusual compared with everything previously submitted for Eurovision.
Many questions were raised about the fact that, shortly after its publication, the longlist dropped from 30 to 29 songs. Fans wondered whether Misscatylove was disqualified by Moldova’s national broadcaster, considering that the Eurovision rules do not allow purely instrumental songs. Their song duration was just one minute and a half, which is way too short to take part in the contest (even if Finland’s PNK did so with a similarly short number in 2015). Misscatylove clarified that they withdrew for personal reasons, mentioning the impossibility to travel from Manchester to the audition in time.
Another big questions: were there actually some distorted vocals? Some Eurovision fans claimed that they couldn’t hear anything but a static sound, while others insisted that some vocals were present in the song, but they were extremely distorted. Yet, everyone can agree that their entry was definitely one of a kind and, for sure, a really eccentric one.
Misscatylove teases comeback
Ever since they withdrew, Misscatylove has expressed their intention to return in 2023. Ever since January this year, Eurovision fans knew that their next song would be titled “Outro” — continuing the beautiful journey that started with their, well, introduction. The singer also confirmed they would be working with the same composer and that the next song would contain the line “your love is fading away like an outro of a song” but also Romanian lyrics.
They seem to have kept their promise as on October 31st the artist posted a teaser photo, announcing that “Outro” will be out on the 31st of December.

Last week the artist tweeted a photo with an announcement about Moldova’s song submission being open, which suggests that they submitted a song for the next year.

We are impatiently waiting for TRM to announce next year’s longlist.
What’s your opinion on Misscatylove’s return? How do you expect “Outro” to sound? Let us know in the comments below.
This “song” is NOTHING more than a series of technical difficulties during a broadcast!
the only potential I see here is memes
Having listened to the section of Outro that Misscatylove posted on her Twitter, it sounds like actual music and not just microphone feedback. Which means that this is possibly one of the greatest troll moves in Eurovision history, and kind of confirms the phrase that I just made up: “The only thing that’s for sure about Moldova in Eurovision, is that nothing is for sure.”
The snippet kinda slaps lol
Sorry copyright issue. I’ve heard this before when tuning a radio!!!!
Has to be disqualified immediately
Would they be the first openly-at time of participation- nonbinary artist if they were to win the selection. cause Roxen came out after the participation and I think the same’s true with Rykka, am I missing anyone?
Dang people are taking this way too seriously lol why can’t we have a random fun article every now and then? It is a meme in the Eurovision community, don’t take it so seriously
Now we only need the one and only Sasha Bognibov to announce his return too.
God forbid! Shoo…
We want Tudor Bumbac, but not creepy Bogibnov.
You have wrote an article about it? Not serious.
send something like her song hippo with remote and honestly id be fine with it
their srry
I don’t care, write about Romania. All their songs are out.
Not a completely unfair criticism.
I’m kinda chomping at the bit to talk about them, TBH
where is the dream team when we need it
Uhh, April fools is still 4 months away
Fools day was yesterday here in Mexico, though XD
YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Btw if purely instrumental song can’t go, what about deaf people? For example last year unmute from Poland had only instrumental song with only sign lyrics. Are only sign language allowed also?
I love how Eurovision now has deep lore lol
This does not deserve an article…
Is this a real thing or does the emperor have no clothes?
Even with John Cage’s 4’33”?
I need a new pair of glasses
The rules clearly state that the song must be 3 minutes.
You know this is false but you keep posting moronic pointless comments like this cus you love the attention. No matter how negative.
So are you, Stevia. Last year, you were SO positive. Did you lose your house or gf dump you or something lol
I’ll just repost the comment I wrote to you before:
“What do you mean LMAO!? This ESC season has just begun. There is not much to talk about. We have two entries right now that I quite frankly don’t care for whatsoever.
I have always been very opinioned on this site and on ESC in general and that will not change. My opinions are my opinions. Sometimes they will be positive and sometimes negative”
Also good job on assuming my gender and sexuality.
I’ve talked to the director of the EBU and he’s told me songs now MUST BE 3 minutes.
Actually make a NOT troll song, with vocals and the ability to actually listen to the song without going death and it COULD win!
Y’all are not serious with this article.
I kind of prefer this one over the train thing.
Please never change Moldova, please never change.
This girl is geneous!
Non-binary.
I think when it’s referring to a person and not a thing it’s spelt like this: NonBinary.
needs to be rubbed thoroughly?
asked nicely
not y’all writing a whole article about an internet troll lmao
the fact that misscatylove claims to be an enby says it all about the blatant trolling tbh. but it’s trolling that stopped being funny a few days after intro went viral in the fandom.
Non-binary.
Sometimes people write “NB” as well. I typically do.
NB = Nathaniel Bandy
How are they being NB affect this at all?
because she blatantly created a caricature-esque character and, like it or not, enbies are misunderstood (read: clowned) by most of the internet. and it’s giving her attention, look at this article!
NB’s are misunderstood 100%.
Gotcha. I don’t like this person and I don’t think they deserve an article.
lol, lmao
