Two weeks ago Romania’s TVR released a live video of Selectia Nationala contestant Aledaida singing her entry “Bla Bla Bla” in ront of a wall.
Fans saw the potential, but wanted more. And now they have it with the release of the studio version of Aledaida’s song, which may well end up at Eurovision.
“I am very happy that Eurovision fans can finally listen to the final version of the song,” she tells Wiwibloggs.
“Compared to the live version that was released, we came up with some changes, especially from the middle of the song onwards. We are setting up a great show and can’t wait for you to see it in the final of Selectia Nationala on February 11, where we will give it all on stage for the public.”
Aledaida releases “Bla Bla Bla” studio version ahead of Selectia Nationala 2023
So far the response from the public has been overwhelmingly positive, a sure sign that Aledaida made the right tweaks to her bop.
As a user named @eurotea431 said in the comments section of the YouTube upload:
“Girl, this snaps! Romania has never sent such a bop at Eurovision before and I think this is the right time to do so. I feel like this could be a year with many ballads and sending this would make Romania stand out for sure. We need dance and we need attitude! Best of luck, Aledaida! Please y’all, vote for her!”
Another user called @ionelatoader9162 said: “This is the only song with which we can qualify in the big final! Please let’s send Aledaida to Eurovision this year please!”
What do you think? Does the studio cut sound like a winner to you? Do you think She can challenge for the win in Romania? Let us know down below!
Another year, another Fuego Aye Aye Aye …
That doesn’t have much to do with romanian selection they are doing it for moldova then? Didn’t saw anything for it that says something about it
Wtf Romania?!?!? I can’t believe it.. Is this cheap and poorly produced song the best option this year? Even the Belgium option is better than this?
I am sorry but I don’t like this song
Moldova will probably ditch their selection again and just pick Sunstroke Project.
Let’s watch them alternate between Zdob si zdub and Sunstroke Project every year.
Romania have the weakest selection for me like they have no choice none of the song will be qualify. Same as Latvia.
We said the same for the Icelandic selection last year and we saw the result so let’s avoid being too pessimistic huh
Iceland did qualify, but only by the skin of its teeth and it was one of the lower ranked countries in the grand final. Hopefully they can send something with more impact for this year.
My favorite from Romania is Statues.
Has potential, would need another serious revamp if it was to qualify for ESC final, stays to one levelled.
I don’t think that it sounds that much like Slomo. Also, I think Statues would be a better choice.
It’s not great, but it’s Romania’s only option.
As someone below said, it sounds cheap, badly produced and the cover art looks like it was made on Canva. Very low-budget and boring.
what kind of music and songs do you like? You never like anything…
This sounds promising, if her live performance is good she will totally slay in Liverpool.
“Make it go like pa-pa-pa-pa, like pa-pa-pa-pa-pa” was much more poetic.
SunStrokeProject yeahhhh with epic Guy sax !!
I think its sure … ! The song is on sportify its very good but less strong than Hey Mama but I see potential like Zdob/Z last year !
Moldova 2017 ^^
2010 too.
I’m Eurofan I Say ^^
…
Sounds cheap
Sounds like Slomo, but less sexy. Good song nevertheless. We already know that she can sing, so I don’t see why this wouldn’t work in ESC.
Romania has never sent such a bop in Eurovision…WRS say hi! Well, I quite like it, the references Bla Bla Bla and Slomo (Jesc italy and Esc Spain) are cool, but it’s too repetitive for my taste and is not enough surprising or innovative, the rythm is killer though, whatever it’s just my opinion, I wish her good luck, if Romania want to send her it would be a nice addition to the Esc line up.
Sure, this lady watched jesc and when Chanel performed she said “Omg, I’m gonna name my next song after this one”. Ever heard of coincidences? There is no reference. Aren’t people allowed to use words like “slomo” and “fuego” from now on in their songs cause people will say they copied a certain song? Chanel didn’t invent that style. Jesus.
Did I say that it was intentional from her… ? Did I say that she copied somebody or something? No.
They are just references for us the eurofans and nothing else and I only said that it was cool to see, I don’t see the problem, I’ve never said she take inspiration on Chanel or whoever are you serious?!
Fyi: references = allusions
YES! Budget Slo-Mo here we go!
It’s actually better musically!
Stop downvoting me
At last, a clean studio track That I could actually judge the song properly. That video on the broadcaster YouTube channel was awful quality.
It’s somewhat standard for its style, but it does sound like a proper song with an actually decent hook. My 4th favorite in this selection, and the last one on my list to pass the minimum bar of song quality.
Well, it’s a change of pace from having a Swedish songwriter!
I know. I was just being sarcastically shady because people here always decry seeing Swedish songwriters on songs sung by people outside Sweden. I personally don’t care one way or the other. I was just mocking those people.
True. Just because the author is prolific, doesn’t mean that every song is soulless or bad. It creates a bias. Likewise, just because the author had some great songs before, doesn’t mean that each will strike gold. That’s why I try to look-up the songwriters only after hearing the songs, if I can help it.
Forward thinking, opening the songwriting pool can only do good. Retroactively, most of these people have had some absolutely amazing songs. As standalone writers or in teams. If I like the song, I like the song. But if I was a songwriter myself, I would certainly appreciate broadcasters accepting a wider range of songs in their selections.
I agree about the diversity. Songwriters being locals is something an HOD should perhaps care about, but me as a listener have no preference over. A good song is a good song. I’ll honestly vote for the song I like the best from each selection I’d have voting rights in. Whether authors are local or not makes little to no difference. That’s also why I said that perhaps names of the songwriters should be published on the day of the finals, or later that day. It should be about the best song.
PS. I mean, sure, if the songwriters are to be included in the ceremony itself, like in Portugal, Sweden, or Finland, it’s a great thing, and should be encouraged. But perhaps the songwriting credits could wait a week or two before being published on fansites. I mean, I don’t tend to read into it before listening to the songs (if I don’t read it in the comments anyway), but I see that it happens.
”I don’t see any wrong whatsoever in making the songwriters’ names public.”
Ideally, neither do I. In fact, it’s their right to take full credit. The only thing that made me consider postponing it is that people can have inclinations of liking the song more or not based on who wrote it. But as I said later on, everyone can have their own preferences, and I can’t say who’s right. It’s ultimately personal. 🙂
PS. PS. I am sorry if talked about it too much. If I had an edit button, I’d probably shorten it now. You are absolutely right to have your preferences, Una. That’s cool. I never wanted to push my personal opinion as an objectively true one. And ultimately, I agree that the songwriters, whoever they are, should get a big credit for their work.
Likewise. All the best, Una. 🙂
First, by far, is Erin Danet. His song is a guilty pleasure of mine, and I listen to it a lot (more than I should admit). Then Theodor with DGT, the most creative one. Then Andrei with Statues. It’s cheesy, but there’s something to it. Then Aledaida. I realize, of course that other 8 songs have fans too, but I’m currently not one of them.
Erin is a him. I forgot he changed it to JaxMan for this NF. The song is ”Bad and Cool”. Very enjoyable for me. No kidding, Romania would be my 1st place by a long-shot with the current line-up if they go for that.
Had no idea that Statues is Morland’s, but turns out it is (many songwriters weren’t credited when the songs came out). It’s certainly among the more compact entries in this selection.
NP. 🙂
PS. I guess I’d be fine with Puppet, in a way. It gets repetitive, but it’s not bad. So that’s 5/12.
He also produced the songs Call on me by Deiona and Puppet by Amia. These are also in the National Selection of Romania.
What I feared the most is happening. Because of SloMo’s impact last year, everybody wants to recreate its success. We’re seeing the same thing with some songs in Norway, Estonia, Malta… but this one “Bla Bla Bla” is the most blatant copycat, they’re not even trying to hide it, it’s in the lyrics even… This song doesn’t even have 10% of SloMo’s power. It sounds like a Bebe Rexha reject from 2016. Zero originality. I hope Romania doesn’t choose this, they have more creative and inspired songs in their selection, such as Theodor Andrei – D.G.T.
I’d prefer Theodor’s DGT (my second), but there are some songs way worse than this (Perinica, Hai vino, Lele, Faralaes).
Last year, we feared there’s going to be an overload of rock music because of Måneskin winning but that didn’t end up happening. Yes we had a few bands, but they didn’t really go anywhere. There ultimately be a few copycat chasers, but ultimately they won’t succeed. In Romania’s case, they could easily choose that wedding band for Eurovision (With 100% televoting and a show closer, it could happen).
There should be a few rock songs (more than there is right now) every year, not only due to the impact of Maneskin.
Unfortunately, quality rock artists do not want to go to Eurovision, so we get them very rarely.
‘Everybody’? This is literally the first song that has direct simularities?
It sounds like a song rejected by Margaret from the song “Cool Me Down”..
It’s the lyrics. Cool Me Down was so basic lyrically, this has the same vibe.
It’s so basic! The lyrics of the song are just embarrassing, as if a 14-year-old girl wrote the song.. Really? Blah blah blah? The judges will butcher it!
That’s why we like it, because it’s ridiculously funny, it’s too catchy!
Chanel (ESC 2022): Slo-Mo
Chanel (JESC 2022): Bla Bla Bla
Someone who really likes artists named Chanel?
What does that have to do with Aledaida
People say it’s in the style of Slo-Mo and it shares the title with Bla Bla Bla.
It’s obviously that we should send this if we want a top 10. So Romania, you know what you have to do. I am sure Aledaida is going to slay and serve quality.
Vote #20 on 11th of Feb. ?
