Benidorm Fest 2023: Fusa Nocta “Mi Familia”
Fusa Nocta — real name Mirian Nares — burst onto the Spanish trap scene after finding fame on season three of The X Factor. Now, she’s departing slightly from her typical urban style. Fusa Nocta’s Benidorm Fest track “Mi Familia” uses traditional flamenco elements, such as clapping and guitars.
There’s also a voice note from her little cousin, who’s credited in the lyrics. “Miri, I really liked your video. I hope you come someday or that we’ll go visit you some time. Kisses”. The whole family is represented in the track – her grandma also gets a shoutout. “My grandma told me: Girl, always go first”. Despite being apart, her family will be very close in Benidorm.
Fusa Nocta hails from Gandia, which is less than one hour from the host venue.
What do the “Mi Familia” lyrics mean?
The “Mi Familia” lyrics see Fusa Nocta reflect on her relationship with her family. “My family is first”, she says. “My grandma once told me: look well into the mirror and look at yourself with pride”. She also refers to her parents: “Pride be with my parents, let them brag about their child”.
But don’t take these lyrics as cocky. The song is all about how Fusa’s family helped lift her up during her lowest moments. “I have my fears, they want me to touch the sky but I’m about to hit the ground”. “When they think about me, I want it all to be nice things. This world has them worried, and with good reason”.

I’m really sorry but I just find this song super messy, all over the place and goes nowhere. I don’t really get the hype, I just don’t think this is the song for Spain.
I know this song if the fan favorite for now but I know Spain can do a lot better than this.
Again, I’m really sorry .

This is one of my favorites. I like how it combines modern sound (that even sounds rebellious at times) with some more traditional values in the lyrics. She can be young and modern without abandoning her roots. She can sign about loved ones giving her strength and support, without it being cheesy.
She’s definitely winning jury vote.
Fantastic song, certainly one of my hot favourites in Spain! So curious to see what she will be like live.
Entretanto mi favorita en Benidorm Festival.
Not sure about it lyrically, but I AM a fan of the lyrics, which remind me of Albania’s entry this year!
The lyrics are great, it reminds me of Soldi – Mahmood
