Benidorm Fest returns in 2023 as Spain’s national selection for Eurovision. This time it’s even bigger, with 18 acts competing for the chance to represent their country in Liverpool this May.
Now that you’ve had a few weeks to listen to all the entries, we want to know who you would like to qualify from semi-final 1.
Semi-final 1 of Benidorm Fest will take place on 31 January and nine acts will be competing. Only four of them will qualify to the final on 4 February.

Benidorm Fest 2023 takes place between 31 January and 4 February. The 18 acts will be split between two semi-finals, with four songs from each semi-final progressing to the grand final.
The voting in each show is comprised of 50% jury, 25% demoscopic jury, 25% televoting.
The hosts of the three broadcasts will be Inés Hernand, Mónica Naranjo and Rodrigo Vázquez.

I think we all agree Fusa, Agoney, Alice and Megara should qualify.However, we never get what we want, so I think there must be a surprise and one of them might flop.
If any of these do not qualify, Sharonne should go through.
Fusa Nocta and Alice Wonder should definitely qualify, and I’m guessing Agoney and Megara will take the other two spots. I quite like “Tuki”, but I think it’s unlikely that Sofía will make it.

its interesting that 3 of the top 4 vote getters on this wiwibloggs pool were in the bottom half of scores of the spanish pre-selection committee….it’ll be interesting to see how the international jury selects and definitely the home viewer–it’ll probably shift things once you see the live performances
I won’t lie, this is a very tough semi, theres more than four favourites in this semi and also if you were to take the odds into it, Aritz’s song which I would’ve considered to be like but not necessarily a favourite is pretty high so we could have some upsets here.
In relation to qualifiers, it is difficult, here are my personal qualifiers that Id like through (fully aware staging may change my mind)

Now that William is part of the jury,, I’m really worried for his safety if last year’s Spaniard reaction is any indication. Some fans will undoubtedly be butt hurt again. At least there’s more juri members so the influence is more widespread and involves from multiple countries and experiences vs last year having 5 people holding so much power.
How are the qualifiers revealed? Will we know who placed where with the exact points or will they just announce the 4 qualifiers?

I’m probably the only one, but I’d take Aritz over Agoney. Don’t get the allure of Quiero Arder at all, but to each their own.

It’s fascinating to read all of the “fan chat” about Benidorm Fest this year. This seems to me to be even more hyped than last year’s event was. Also, look how close this poll is. I’m very excited for this event.

Very tough semi. It would be better if they were 5 finalists, since it is sure that one good song will stay out. My prediction is Fusa Nocta, Agoney, Aritz and Alice (in random order).
At this point, it won’t suprise me if Agoney qualifies thanks to televoting and Aritz thanks to the juries, instead of Megara. But, we haven’t seen the performances yet, so let’s wait.

The Benidorm fest songs this year are pretty bad. Last year was so good. What happened?
The only ones I like are La Lola and Eaea. Nochentera and Quiero arder are a bit of a guilty pleasure though.

Even though I don’t really understand the hype around Agoney’s song, it’s basically Spanish version of Israel 2022, myb the performer is just more charismatic and that’s it. There are much better songs.
I don’t like it too but I understand why Eurofans like it. I think it is pretty clear Alice Wonder, Fusa Nostra and Agoney will be definitely the top 3 and likely in that order. Maybe Megara fourth

This is such a tough semi! The winner of this semi will probably represent Spain at ESC as I don’t see big contenders in semi 2. The TOP 4 should obviously be Fusa, Agoney, Megara and Alice Wonder, but I’m afraid someone might be out.
