So many good songs!!! Can someone help me define the genres of the songs? Anyone know how the artists themselves define the songs in what genre? I especially wonder about the songs by Luke Black, Savo Perovic, Adem Mehmedovic, The Frajle, Hercenslus, Boris Subotic and Eogor?

Also, And wich one of this years 32 entries represent the music scene in Serbia of today the most accurately?

I saw that a couple of people have translated Luke Black’s song but I don’t feel like they captured all the nuances so I’m posting my version: I Just Want To Sleep Verse 1 Baby watch the world on fire It is all a game to me I don’t wanna choose my fighter Who’s taking control of me? Pre-Chorus Hello? I just want to sleep (go to sleep) Chorus  I just wanna sleep forever (s – sleep) I like it better when I dream I want to sleep forever (s – sleep) While the world is on fire I just… Read more »

Dzipsii! Such a groove. Underrated. Luke Black – he is going to slay live with performance. Pls do not vote for usual ethno songs. And pls not for Hurricane, they are such a bad copy of old group.

What a waste is to hold two Semi Finals with such songs. It could’ve been narrowed down to one Final. Quality this year isn’t that good, but I’m in LOVE with Rumba by Zejna! That’s a song for Eurovision. It has so much potential to make amazing staging!!! Hopefully it wins! Goodluck Zejna!

Zenja’s vocals are amazing but her being Roma probably means she won’t win. Although most Serbs like Roma music, for this kind of competition, they will probably vote for an ethnic Serb singer.

Marija is also Roma, and she won Beovizija 2007 xD But I see your way of thinking, and no, the absolute majority don’t think that way. One of the biggest stars from Serbia is Emina Jahovic, who is muslim and married in Turkey ( Serbia= Greece>>>>>>>>>Turkey). But for many years she is one of the most sought-after Serbian representatives who would have the absolute support of the people. I also think that if some of the most popular/high-quality Bosnian performers (who are popular in Serbia) would by some miracle want to perform for Serbia (I mean muslim Bosnians) such as… Read more »

It’s no so subtly calling out the president of Serbia for his abuse of power while pretending to be singing it to a girl. I’ll translate it. Verse 1 Are you afraid of me baby, are you? Are you afraid of me, doe in the woods? Spare me the sad Bamby scene, You’re here with an intention! Pre Chorus Solo capital, solo capital I ask no one, I just take. Chorus Like you, like you, Mi Presidente. Like you, like you, you should be afraid of me. Like you, like you, Mi Presidente. Like you, like you, all’s just a… Read more »

First Impressions:

1 Fralje (catchy with substance, so a real stand out)
2 Princ (picks up after a minute so give it a chance)
3 Stefan Shy (accessible yet tinged with a little Serbian style)
4 Tijana Dap?evi? (groovy! but maybe too generic for a contest)5 Angelina (great voice but not sure about the song)
6 Savo Perovi?  (grows on you)7 CHEGI & Bra?a Bluz Bend (maybe)

Luke Black is closest to my personal taste, but there’s a lot here that I enjoyed. Filarri, Filip Balos, Savo Perovic, Egret, I’m sure I’m missing some. Dzipsii and Ivona sound like they could take off on stage. Is Nadia the first Olivia Rodrigo type I’ve heard this year (I dig it)? Please just don’t send Hurricane.

Luke Black far better than anyone else. Molim vas bra?o i sestre, nemojte da glasate još za jednu hiljadu puta vi?enu turbofolk pesmu koja ?e da nam donese maksimalno poslednja mesta u finalu, nego da pošaljemo nešto što može daleko da pro?e.

But not too many of them at Eurovision. If you have too much of one particular music genre, they will all cancel each other out. Remember the overload of female dance bops in 2021 and how most of them flopped? I don’t want to see that happen again.

As usual, I feel that the Serbian selection is a little too extensive. Of course, if you present 32 songs, not all of them will be top notch. But overall, I at least liked a lot of these propositions. The most out of the box entry – and my personal favourite, since I would really encourage Serbia to stay on the track they set off on with Konstrakta – is Luke Black’s “Samo mi ne spava”. The instrumentation with the high pitched white noise is a lot, but its not yet overpowering. I very much enjoy this entry. Second on… Read more »

The production for these songs is exciting for such a large national final- and the male bops came thru for sure. I don’t see Serbia struggling to qualify from the “tougher” semi final 1, as they have a plethora of top 10, even a few top 5 entries in this selection. This could be THE national selection to watch out for… after UMK, of course.

Call me biased – i am a sucker for Serbian music – but this selection is really enjoyable, diverse and great musically. Not one song I really dislike, lots of songs I would add to my playlist. When thinking in Eurovision terms, there is no Konstrakta this year in PZE, however i see a lot of potential in Nada’s song (“Moj prvi ožiljak na duši”) and also others. My favourites: Nada, Angellina, Luke Black, Filarri Tijana, Princ, Mattia&Angela, Empathy Soul Project, Nadia, Dzipsii, Ivona and Gift. Definitely gonna watch all the shows, because I was in love with RTS’s production… Read more »

Fun fact: Na?a (Moj prvi ožiljak na duši) is just a 17yo high-schooler. I’m kinda excited to see her perform in such a big competition, with her being so young. I think she already did an amazing job since she’s able to stand out in a group of much more experienced colleagues.

Hurricane song sounds Like a JESC song. But I wouldn’t mind it If they win. Why not have a cute song Like that at ESC. People would remember and sing “Zumi, Zimi, Zami” along.

I also Like Savo Perovic – Presidente. Why not send a boop from a male performer??

Angellina Had a better song last year.

Duo Grand sounds Like a (very) weird version of Jacques Houdek “My Friend”.

I liked quite a few other songs, But I do not have a huge favorite. And I am not sure which songs will stand out for others. Good luck, Serbia!

RTS actually sees it as a nice way to promote niche artists even if they realistically have no chance to win, and it’s appreciated in Serbia. Many of the last year’s artists got noted during PZE but were previously totally anonymous
