You all will hate me for saying this, but I wanna say that I predict that Germany will dodge a bullet if they do not send Lord of The Lost.

Lord of The Lost in comparison to Megara is what Alvan & Ahez was last year in comparison to Tanxugeiras.

Fulenn as a track is clearly miles ahead of that Tanxugueiras one, Alvan et Ahez were just inexperienced performers and less convincing in that regard compared to Tanxugueiras.

Many Germans have Lord of the lost as a favorite..But.. there will be an international finale… And if Germany wants to avoid ending up at the lower part of the result list..they must send Patty Gurdy She might not be that big in Germany, but she has Spotify listeners from almost every country in the world.. (180 countries out of ..is it 195?..) She has over 280k followers on Instagram..(more than 4 times more than LotL).. and she gets 5-6-7 thousand new followers each day now.. So if Germany wants to reach the top of the list… choose Patty..Remember.. Germany… Read more »

Patty is de enige goeie keuze voor Duitsland dit jaar om nog eens op de linkerkant van het scorebord te komen?

I adore Anica’s song, it has such a mysterious and dark vibe. I hope she wins.

I’m almost entirely on team Trong when it comes to this selection and am really excited about how this could translate onto the Eurovision stage.
Most of the other entries are fine but not more than that.

That’s a tricky one. The selection is definitely better than last year, but I do not have a real favorite. Probably, I would pick Anica Russo. Maybe, Patty Gurdy would do better, but it feels a bit like a false flag entry.

Patty Gurdy is one of those artists that, figuratively speaking, kinda were born to participate in Eurovision at least once. I mean, she’s super pretty and she built a whole career on playing a super unique instrument, we don’t even know the full story of it. But… this song is just not it. Just like with Wild Youth, it really feels like it was written with Eurovision in mind, with some stereotypes about it even, I’d say. Her instrument here is just in the bridges between lyrics, it even feels like artificially added in this song, other than that it’s… Read more »

Upon my first listen, Trong (even though a slight revamp on the lyrics wouldn’t hurt), Lord of the Lost, Patty and Frida were my favorites

I am all for the rock entries here. And I’m including Ikke in that as well. Of course it is a bit silly but it’s a relevant genre nonetheless, and deserves respect for being done well.

Patty Gurdy and Lord of the Lost are the only ones who offer something unique. Any of the two can be a worthy representation. Don’t screw this time, Germany!

I have only just listened to all of these for the very first time. It’s a great selection. Here were my very first reactions: Anica Russo “Once Upon A Dream” – Great voice, but the song is too languishing for me. Frida Gold “Alle Frauen In Mir Sind Müde” – Poignant, it could be the German “Voilà” if done well. Ikke Hüftgold “Lied Mit Guten Text” – Just NO. Lonely Spring “Misfit” – Haha, are you sure this isn’t the UK’s entry? It’s dark yet fun. They would need to re-write the lyrics for ESC, obviously. Lord of the lost… Read more »

Interesting takes. Also comparisons with the British, French, Irish, and Dutch music in here. Actually, that leads me to another interesting topic. I can’t really pin-point German cultural influences in their ESC entries. There’s a bit of everything. I think it’s because Germany is such a huge Central-European melting pot that there’s a lot of different cultural influences on them. We could hear Balkan, Turkish or Baltic music from Germany, and it could still be technically authentic to their current profile.

I’m not sure if they stand a chance, but Lonely Spring wins by daylight for me. Lord of the Lost, René, and Frida would also be very good selections.

Good luck to the Germans, they deserve it.

Unpopular opinion, but I’d really love to see Trong in Eurovision this year! I’d love to see an Asian pop bop with Trong’s choreography (although a revamp on the lyrics would not hurt. Perhaps sprinkle in some German or Vietnamese).

They are all available on You Tube on different accounts. The problem with the German broadcaster that they’re never released on a single playlist. But they all easily available.

As far as who I think will be the smartest choice umm…depends on the live but if I had to guess now I’d say maybe Patty? Not sure.

For me, I think Germany should send Rene or Patty. Both songs are probably the strongest out of the bunch and could get Germany out of the bottom end.
Anica is also a good choice. The song just gives me this vibe I can’t shake off and the staging potential this song has.

Only Rene, if it sounds as good as it sounds in the studio . The others are too niche. Germany does not need televote to qualify from the semis. They can just go for quality.

Song-wise, Germany has one of the strongest finals this season. There’s so many quality songs of different genres here. They can pick between polka, rock, K-pop, pop, punk, ballads, and a Celtic melos, and not many countries can say that. At this point, I am probably leaning towards Anica, Rene, or Patty, but I’m getting fonder and fonder of the idea that Ikke goes to Eurovision too. Might be iconic. Lord of the Lost and Lonely Spring are fun too. My biggest concern is the lack of budget and ambition when it comes to staging and production. Sadly, desipite being… Read more »

It’s a tough one. They are all good actually. EVEN the TikTok joke entry! Germany really upped their game this year, so kudos to them. It will definitely depend on the live performance, though Lord of the Lost and Patty Gurdy shouldn’t be too far from each other.
