The show must go on! On Tuesday, another 27 acts joined Una Voce per San Marino as part of Semi-Final 2, but only four could get the ticket directly to Saturday’s final. Another four acts earned a second chance to fight for a spot in the final through Friday’s second chance show.

Some familiar names, who competed in last year’s edition, were in the Tuesday semi-final including  Francesco Monte and Kurt Cassar. The legendary music group Eiffel 65, who wrote the hit “Blue (Da Ba Dee)” appeared. At the end of the show, Eiffel 65, Ellynora, Iole and Le Deva qualified directly to the final on Saturday.

Four other acts have qualified for the second chance show on Friday, where they’ll get the chance to perform again for a spot in the final on Saturday. They are Flexx, Florin Răduță, Kiara D.V. feat. Pamela Ivonne Cole and La Bebae

Semi-final two acts qualified for the final

Eiffel 65 – “Movie Star”

Eiffel 65 is an Italian Eurodance group that was formed in 1997 in the studios of the Turin record company Bliss Corporation, consisting of Jeffrey Jey, Maurizio Lobina and Gabry Ponte. They gained global popularity with their singles “Blue (Da Ba Dee)” and “Move Your Body” from their 1999 studio album Europop.

In 2000 the group won a World Music Award for the World Best Selling Italian Group, and a B.M.I USA in Los Angeles, rewarding the most-broadcast song on radio in the United States. They were also nominated at the Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording for “Blue (Da Ba Dee)”.

Ellynora – “Mama Told Me”

Ellynora was born in Rome, Italy. She started singing at 14. At age 19 she moved to NYC by herself, studied dancing at the Broadway Dance Center and later graduated in acting for film at NYFA. She subsequently lived between Italy and the US, becoming an international and multilingual artist.

Ellynora’s music has a Latin taste to it — she blends southern Italian sounds and today’s modern ones. She found a world in which her roots could coexist with an international sound and multiple languages.

Iole

IOLE, born Iolanda Capasso, is an Italian artist born in 1997 in Naples. She started singing as a child and has participated in many contests and events in Italy and Europe. She even participated in the Amici program, challenging Elodie.
Characterized by a high-impact style and a fresh and innovative sound, IOLE, with her respectable gavetta, is able to move through different vocal ranges, working it nimbly between different genres and styles.

Le Deva – “Fiori Su Marte”

Le Deva is an Italian women’s music group, active since 2016. They are a vocal trio composed of Verdiana Zangaro, Greta Manuzi and Roberta Pompa.

In October 2022, they launched their participation in Albania’s Kënga Magjike 2022 festival in the BIG INTERNATIONAL ARTIST category. On November 26, on the final night, they were proclaimed category winners of the 23rd edition of the Albanian festival.

The Eiffel 65 entry is shockingly, shockingly bad. I hope for their sake they’re not selected.

Kurt’s entry might not have been the best but his voice killed it. Can’t believe he’s out. Now they left his compatriot Nicole out. Malta is the forced reject in San Marino ???

For those who actually watched the semi 3: I found it to be an overall step up. There were several songs on a decent level: MeriCler, Nicole Hammett, Luca Minelli, Manuel Aspidi, Noe. All of my hopes for San Marino actually being in an upward spiral have been drowned by the absolutely tone-deaf picks of finalists and second chance qualifiers. Apart from Morgana and Mayu, it’s like they deliberately picked the worst songs of the evening. Is this supposed to clear the path for Eiffel 65? If so, the joke’s on them, as I find their entry even worse than… Read more »

What’s all the hype about Kurt’s elimination? Yes he’s a great power vocalist and I love his presence and everything about him (besides his cockiness on stage at times) but there were other good artists left out. Hopefully he’ll figure out all these wrong song choices until it’s too late for him.

You should go and follow the guy. His voice is so unique maybe he is pitching some wrong songs. The growth since X Factor Malta is somewhat mesmerising

I loved Fine del Mondo and La Bebea. If I have to judge best vocalist a star would go to Kurt Cassar despite his generic Swedish pop song that screams cringe, he has soul and he’s hot too ? San Marino just don’t send Eiffel 65. They won’t win just for who they are.

I haven’t watched the second semi, but I’ve seen the recap (thanks, Misja Eurowizja!!!). It feels like there might have been some fine-ish songs this time around (unless the snippets only showcased the best few seconds), but Eiffel 65 doesn’t feel like one of them. And in a year filled with groups, I don’t think it would be a good idea taking an iconic one like them with a song that sounds so bad (on the snippet, at least). Also, wth was that, Jenny May? I know that Soledad didn’t go well, but this feels like it’s on another level.… Read more »

Tonight’s finalists were way better than yesterday’s, being Iole and Ellynora the very best of the night imo 🙂

Level is sky high this year. Well done San Marino. I agree with Deva girl group and Ellynora but wished to see Kurt Cassar at least doing a second chance

My top semi 2 – Ellynora, Lodia, Le Deva.
Though I feel sorry for Kurt. His voice is always the strongest but his songs don’t do him justice. He needs someone who can guide him to write better songs, it’s not right. Francesco Monte was ok, deserved a second chance

I’m sorry for Francesca and kevan they were good. Kurt Cassar is a waste of talent without a good song. His voice is just amazing but Hurdles was even worse than Tears of Gold. John Lundvik should know better?!!!

I haven’t seen it but I’m sad Francesco Monte didn’t qualify. I Hope he is going to come back someday…

Kurt Cassar returned better and hotter just with the wrong song again! Someone please give him a song that values his great voice ASAP

This was a definite step up from yesterday. Ellynora and Iole were credible.

Ellynora is so good. For me it’s sounds like Eurovision finalist potential
