After climbing into the top five at last year’s contest, Serbia are hoping to keep a good thing going by selecting another strong entry for Eurovision 2023. They’ll start this process during semi-final 1 of national selection Pesma za Evroviziju 23.

16 acts will be competing during the show, but only half of them will earn a ticket to the grand final.

Before Serbia has their say on the matter, we want to hear from you. Who do you want to qualify?

Poll: Who should qualify from Pesma za Evroviziju 23 semi-final 1?

We’ve limited the number of acts you can vote for to eight, since this is how many will qualify from the semi-final. Plus, you can only vote once!

PzE 23 show details

The two semi-finals of Pesma za Evroviziju 23 take place on Wednesday 1st and Thursday 2nd March. Eight acts from each will qualify for the the grand final on Saturday 4th March (that’s a 16-act final for some quick maths).

All will be held at broadcaster RTS’s studio in Belgrade. They’ll be hosted by Milan Marić and Dragana Kosjerina, whilst we’ll see Kristina Radenković and Stefan Popović in the green room.

The results of the three shows will be determined by a 50:50 split between the votes of a jury and the public.

  1. Nadja
  2. Luke Black
  3. Savo
  4. Angellina

Moj prvi oziljak na dusi may not be a favourite but that is one amazingly written song. The melody is pretty and the lyrics are beautiful. If any song in this selection was worthy of a sudden Konstrakta style dark horse win it would be this one. A lot of the other big songs rely a little too heavily on repeated hooks (Rumba, Presidente, Zumi Zimi Zami) and sometimes the songs feel overly produced whereas this is the exact opposite.

haha..No.
It is about the president as an institution of any state in general.
It does not refer to anyone specifically.

This semi has one of my favorite songs of this season – Luke Black’s ”Samo mi se spava”. Not only that I’d like him to win this semi, but PZE as well. It’s cool and experimental. Easily accessible, yet very layered and interesting. Moreover, I like the songs of Boris Subotic (good hook, and I know he can deliver it), Filip Baloš (that feels hard to do live, so I’m curious), and Nada (cute). Savo Perovic’s song is interesting and with bold lyrics. I might dwell more on that one. While I wouldn’t put Lanac among my favorites, I think… Read more »

Well, not quite.
Very hard for him to win today. But it is not completely impossible.
Luke has the best chance with an adequate performance. And that performance should not be doubted.

And then Savo. Everything depends on visualization on stage and stage props and innovations.

Luke, Savo, Filip, Princ……
… all the others from the first semi-final are less important for the competition and the final victory.

One of the strongest selections and 1 of the 3 left that I’m really interested in (along with Portugal and Finland).
My big favorite of the entire selection is here, easily one of the best entries this season, Luke Black’s Samo Mi Se Spava, hoping the performance lives up to the hype since he would make the perfect successor to Konstrakta.
My other favorites, who should all at least make it to the final: Filip Balos, Savo Perovic, Adem Mehmedovic and Nadja.

Also, ‘Indigo’ is quite underrated!
