The song is okay; after a while it loses the dynamism in my opinion. I could listen the 3 minute version which was posted at Youtube, I guess.

People expecting Loreen to be groundbreaking and comparing it to Euphoria is not fair and it is the onus of being who she is. The song is completely in line with the type of work she has produced in the past years, vocally on point and artistically and genre wise. The song should be judged by itself not for Loreen’s past, for better or worse.

I need to listen to the full Loreen song. Anyway, she’s lucky that there’s not much competition this year unlike 2017 when she took part.

Loreen is amazing, I want her back on Eurovision stage. This song is excellent. She has such a big voice and presence. I believed in her victory in 2012, and I belive she can do it again.

I found the 3 minute learn of the audio version of the song and after listening; I wasnt so impressed, to be honest. The last part of the song is a bit repetitive; a singer shouting the chorus.
Euphoria was a song that keep you watching the song but that song, it made me a bit bored and depressed 🙂

Although I find Loreen’s song good; I don’t get the hype around this song. I watched the clip which was posted at YouTube and just see a singer singing an emotional yet unimpressive song.
Its chorus is also not catchy for me 🙂

As for Loreen: Keeping my hope a bit lower. Statements in 2017 should‘ve easily sail through to the final even with that staging.

As for Loreen, I’m on her hype train too. Of course, only when I hear the whole song can I know just to a what degree she’s excellent, but she’s obviously excellent. And an obvious winner here. Unless age groups favor Maria or M&M, which would be underwhelming.

Lot of negative Nelly’s on here! Geez, do people on here do nothing but complain? You wanted Loreen back, now you complain about it.. No, it’s not “Euphoria” and it was never meant to be either. It would be stupid if she tried to recreate i. It might be generic but the point is to find the best song, not the most original. What I really don’t get is all the fuss about songs being generic. Who cares in the end if there’s a majority of people having a good time for about 3 minutes? We’re still talking about Eurovision – a TV show based on entertainment – and not about final exams in fine arts …

Generic as in done more than enough; same songwriters, lyrics that are on the level of becoming comical and in the end the acts that go forward are usually the ones with some of the most used songwriters.

When you receive so called 2 824 entries, you wouldn’t expect those 28 chosen entries to have same people behind them. Now with these same songwriters also performing, it’s like scrapping down leftovers from yesterday.

I’ve heard and seen Tattoo performance and I think it’s beautiful and very atmospheric. The lightings are gorgeous, on TV screen it will be very nice even if I still don’t really understand the concept, it’s very artsy, some lighting reminds me of her statements performance. The song is nice very Loreen, I love when it builds, her voice is nice, I prefer the building verses rather than the chorus but it’s still nice, the talking part I’m not into it, the end is not enough memorable imo but I can see the appeal totally mainly in Loreen’s fans because… Read more »

For all the naysayers (and overhypers), let’s at least wait and see what Loreen brings tmr. I did quite like what little I saw of the song/pics/clip, but we haven’t even seen or heard the thing in its entirety. I think it’s fair to at least wait until she’s performed before saying it’s no good/dull or the greatest thing ever. Just my two cents.

Look…when Loreen won the Eurovision with Euphoria I was ecstatic! I loooove that song, I loved the performance! But Tattoo…sounds like any other song. It just lacks that power of Euphoria. The staging also seems like a slightly revamped version of what we saw in 2012 – Loreen slowly moves around on some piece of block…what’s new?

Nowadays there are like a million songs like Euphoria. She paved the way to it. She is trying something that might not be new, but personal and cool! And most importantly, her brand. Is Loreen a very peculiar style.

Loreen didn’t pave the way for EDM… Euphoria is a pretty straightforward dance track, it already wasn’t very inventive back in 2012. If you mean in the context of Eurovision, yeah, it was something new. Most importantly, it was a good song, very… euphoric. Tattoo isn’t.

There isn’t a lot of real experimental music at Eurovision. At least I don’t hear it. That doesn’t matter, a good Eurovision song is familiar enough to make people take notice and new enough to prevent people from getting bored. It’s a fine balance.

I completely understand it’s her style, it’s her brand and that’s great! I’m not saying Tattoo is a horrible song, it’s okay, but I just don’t see it ever becoming such a hit as Euphoria. Euphoria was a song no one could ignore in 2012. It was played in radios all over Europe many many months after the Eurovision. Tattoo is nice, but that’s all. Having seen the whole now, all I can say is that it feels like a 10/10 in all other aspects than being a bit generic. It so close to total perfection. However, avoiding being generic tend to be quite important imo. Few ESC winners are generic. Euphoria was not generic in the way Tattoo is at all. Neither was Statements. But the number is so mind blowing that I almost forget about this aspect.

We all know it’s harder to win Melfest than Eurovision.

If Loreen gets the pleasure to represent Sweden, I’m sure she’ll storm the Grand Final in Liverpool and win. Just the commentators saying ”This is Loreen, the artist who won with Euphoria in 2012” will be enough for Europeans to stop talking, turn up the volume on their TV’s and take in Loreen’s art on stage. Don’t count her out because the song isn’t art-sy fart-sy.

Would never count her out, and that’s a problem honestly. In 2017 she didn’t even get to Melfest finals, for whatever reason. I am not Swedish so I still don’t understand. That song was ahead of the time and would have a chance to win Eurovision for sure. This song is the complete opposite. Listen to this song on the radio, without knowing who it was, nobody would turn heads or turn up the volume as you said, and that’s a fact. The main obstacle with Statements was that the staging was absolutely dreadful and killed the song completely.

From what we’ve seen in the official and leaked clips, Tattoo is staged amazingly well not only in the sense that it looks great in itself but it does what staging is meant to do, it elevates the song to a whole new level.

I get that some people think “Tattoo” is generic, but I don’t get why they think “Air” is not. At the end of the day, both in Melfest and in ESC we are looking for good entries rather than original. In her fourth attempt, Loreen has proved that even if she hasn’t the most original song (in fact, only Statements was original) she has the quality and the character to perform in a way that most eurovision artists can’t. She owns the song, and there is no doubt about it. If the expectations are going to be fulfilled tomorrow, I… Read more »

It is 2023. Eurovision will be 67 years old. People now loves to use “generic” to songs that sound like other ones. Eurovision fans specially forget that NOWADAYS a song is the whole package. Rosa Linn eneded up in 20th place mostly because it was considered “generic”- She has had more clicks overall in all social media. Youtube, Facebook, Tiktok than the top 3 winners. What I know before watching Laureen full performance is that it sounds amazing! It is not like “Statments” (horrible thing) She came back for the win. HOWEVER, Mariette’s song is also beautiful!

She isn’t going to win. We have been through this with Statements, a much stronger entry and failed to make it through and win Melfest. The only thing about Tattoo which is decent is the staging. If she does by some chance win Melfest, she will be nowhere close to winning Eurovision.

IMO Marcus & Martinus will win Melfest 2023 by a sizable majority, Air really is the only song that has the staying power to be a major contender.

To Loreen, why does she gave any reason to return? Euphoria changed the game for the contest and returning with a lesser entry does not make any sense at all, why tarnish your reputation like this. I do not get it.

I do not understand the hype for a average entry with a somewhat cool staging motif. All this attention is due to the fact she is Loreen and nothing more.

Because Loreen won in 2012, eleven years ago, and all the voters still in their teens probably won’t even remember that. It’s from another generation to them. Loreen will be 40 this year, which seems really really ancient to a lot of people. I’m relying on the juries to fight that ageism.
