only Jann and Ahlena stand out with something different and memorable. The rest is far behind them.

For me Jann !!

Alicja is a beautiful song with a crazy voice but not for Eurovision !

Jann is a potential top 5/10 with his song

booty easily has the most thought-provoking and poetic lyrics not just of this national selection, but of this year… maybe even this decade

Tbh Felivers have become my favourites. I want more rock and this has to be the year.

I like Jann and Alicja too. Alicja kind of remind of Blanche in the verses but the chorus is a bit of a let down.

I think Jann’s song is too overhyped also overproduced.

If the voters and jurors have a functioning brain they’d vote Jann unless he can’t sing live for whatever reason then I suppose Alicja will go. I want Alicja to get her ESC shot but not with New Home. She should go with something stronger.

I like Gladiator from first listen, don’t love it but I do like it. Listening to it gets kinda tiring for me personally but Poland will qualify easily with it. Especially in SF2.

Jann’s song is the best by a mile!
It’s outstanding and daring, and its lyrics are well developed throughout the song, and Jann can also sing live so it’s a great opportunity for Poland! 😀

Jann is the only one with enough potential to land on Eurovision; Gladiator is something we don’t see quite often in the contest, a dark pop song with some opera/industrial/rock/hip hop elements. The mixture works very well during the song, and he CAN sing live, so I hope he wins. Really sorry for Alicja, tho. She’s amazing, but her song is not as powerful as Empire was.

Considering the rules Polish tv established a couple of days ago, I’m afraid the fan favorite will struggle. Hope juries not tear his chances down.

Even though I have wanted Alicja to return since 2020, I don’t want it to be at the expense of another great song. Heck, she should have returned in 2021, not that Rafal guy.

Alicja’s song is really good, but for Eurovision is mediocre and average power ballad type, now I only rooting for Jann

For me it’s either Jann or Dominik, those were competently written lyrics and could be perform with versatility on stage. I’m liking Yan too but those sound obviously a sample of viva la vida of coldplay and I’m strongly gonna say NO to Blanka lyrics is cheaply taken from Katy Perry’s “Hot n Cold” and that type of song are typically good in its studio version and not on live.

Why does the thought that Jann has to perform that song live scare me so much?

Of course. What I meant was that I am afraid it’s gonna fall apart live. The falsetto already doesn’t sound completely supported in the studio track so I’m having doubts he is / they are gonna be able to nail it. Hoping it was a stylistic choice, not poor technique.

Sisi

He’s a classically trained counter-tenor (think Cezar) so the falsetto shouldn’t be an issue live.

My clear top 3 are: 1. Felivers, 2. Dominik Dudek, 3. Ahlena. But this is a strong selection, there are only one song that gives me nothing at all.

Alicja is my 1st. Dominik and Jann share my 2nd place. Blanka is my 3rd. Honestly a very decent selection. Hopefully, Poland will continue with such quality. All of these 4 are better than Ochman.

  3. Alicja Szemplinska

See this as a hugely likely Top 1 for Jann, but Alicja is definitely taking a strong 2nd place. These are easily the two strongest songs and performers in this selection, because if Alicja brings any of that energy live, holy hell what a VOICE and how soulful.

I’m torn between Gladiator and Be Good. Third one would be probably Solo. Other than that, it’s whatever. There’s no terrible option imo, which is refreshing. I mean, even if Booty won for some reason, at least it would be meme worthy

Fully agree. And his fans are honestly making me like his entry less than I otherwise would. Alicja released her music video yesterday and Youtube’s full of hate comments from Jann fans. Just like this post here just got voted down by 12 people. So childish.

Does he though? He went to music school in England so his English ought to be at least passable if not fine.

Also you could levy the same argument to most of Azerbaijan’s recent submissions (they’re the only ones that come with a translator).

I’m only going off of the song itself, I’ve just listened to it again and he’s far from a disaster like Melovin was, but he still sounds a bit off to me. Maybe it’s also the vocal style, I guess we’ll just have to see how the live goes.

My strong top 3: 1. Dominik Dudek – Absolutely in love with this song. It’s so cute, but it a sincere and heartfelt way. And remember country-pop in an uplifting tone has always performed much better than most fans predicted. Could be a Malta 2013 moment. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for his surprise victory. – 10/10 2. Jann – This is very impactful, and a song which will certainly immediately stand out among others. Both classical and very modern with a dark edge. You can’t go wrong with this, so I totally understand why fans are all over it.… Read more »

Felivers is my personal favourite. The style is right up my street and the chorus is insanely catchy.

But I think the best choice for Eurovision would be Jann. There is such dynamism and power in this entry and it is a complete story so fits the Eurovision brief very well.

My issue with Felivers is that we have a lot of pretty boy pop rock bands happening this year(all good mind you) and they might get lost in the shuffle between Ireland, Slovenia, Latvia and maybe Finland(if Kuumaa wins).

I agree, I fear that Felivers would very much get lost in the competition so whilst it’s my personal favourite, I doubt it would do well in the contest. Jann on the other hand very much has the immediate impact so I am on board with him being the best choice for Eurovision.

Re: Felivers’ chorus, I genuinely think it’s the best thing about the song. The “oh-oh-oh-oh, never back down” has been stuck in my head for days. I also enjoy the defiance in the sentiment.
