This is almost an inverted ranking to mine. Just that id have René, frida ,will and lonely springs top 4 (gutted for frida being out) and Id have the tiktok song, patty and the lord of the lost as my bottom three with throng being 4th last. Dont connect with any of those four songs unfortunately but im prepared to have a song I dislike win the selection seeing as one of my favoueites is already out and I dont think the others are likely to win.

How are they going to calculate the points for this though?

Will the televote be converted to say a 12 point scale? If so, Ikke’s advantage. Is maybe not all that great.

If, on the other hand, the televote awards points by percentage… that could possibly win it for him.

    Does anybody know?

Never mind, I just found the answer myself! Turns out it’s by percentage. So Ikke might well have an advantage here.

I’m totally cheering for patty gurdy and hoping she can do the song justice live! But LOTL are obviously fantastic so I’ll be happy if they take it too. Excited to watch this live actually!

According to one of our local ESC pages who covered the rehearsals, Patty might become quite a disappointment 🙁

I get why people like LOTL but I really don’t understand the hype for Patty Gurdy or Anica Russo; they both come across as dated and cringy to me. What am I missing that other people are seeing?

Either LOTL or Patty Gurdy will do for me. And so will do for the rest of Europe, in my opinion, I predict top-10 for LOTL and top-15 for Patty.

even though there is already way more bands this year than we usually see, i think lord of the lost should win and has the best chance to get germany a good result. the rest are very lukewarm

I’m very looking forward for tomorrow and see what Germans will do.
I personally don’t have a clear favourite so I’ll be very open with the live performances.
I also have doubts about which act could be the more competitive for Eurovision. I hope Germans will figure out tomorrow

Lord of the Lost is a certain top 15 placement for Germany and Patty Gurdy’s song is literally the music you would get when you would merge all the cultures of Europe together in one, it’s like the ultimate European sound. It could’ve been an iconic early 2000s winner. I could see both doing very well with the televote.

I don’t think it’s a top 15. If it wins it will be up against Finland and Australia for viewer votes and it’s the weakest of the three. I have a feeling Germany might go with frida

Certainly was my fave before they were even announced as an act. I watched the 4 minute video to realise the song was only 3 mins and said it would be an excellent song for ESC.

If Ikke win…. Eurovision 2023 it’s very weak my god….

I hope for Patty Gurdy, Lord of the Lost & René Miller, I love these 3 songs !

I hope the juries will give Ikke no points for televoting and online voting to be curbed! I’m very scary about Ikke…. German People, please wake up !!! Ikke it’s SO BAD & AWFUL

the Online Voting was basically unkonventionell to everyone outside the acts‘ fanbases and the bubble. So just a small minority decides the winner. And Ikke has a lot of fans and he has mobilized them quite well.

The NDR has to get rid of the Online Voting next year. That is my opinion.

I don’t understand how eurofans think Ikke really could win this. Yeah, in another controversial German selection in 2019 Sisters won the international jury voting despite being hated by eurofans (and by Eurovision panel that was a part of voting too in that selection, actually)… but that song itself was much more jury-friendly than Ikke’s this year. How international juries, which are 50% of the votes, will have him higher than like 6th, I can’t imagine, especially in such a strong group of songs. I’m not even sure that he will be high enough with the televoting. Moreover, they opened… Read more »

and now I remembered that also Max in 2004 was actually also a wildcard and won against big established names, because he won a separate late nate show and was later included to the line-up. Maybe there is more that I don’t remember right now.

Also, Germany has a pattern of voting for the underdog..

I’m not sure if the jury holds 50% of the power, I reaaaally hope they do, because otherwise we might have that outcome possible… he has the biggest following in Germany out of all of them.

On a pure studio cut, I would go with Anica Russo but seeing the rehearsal pics from the German ESC account, everything seems quite promising and my mind can change once the live performances come along. Half of the songs would be pretty convincing in Liverpool for me. Germany upgraded their selection for good this year.
