The official sponsor of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest is Baileys — the intoxicating Irish cream liqueur, flavoured with cocoa and whiskey. But there’s another drink that may become the “it” drink of the Eurovision 2023 season.
Let us introduce you to Piña Colada — a delicious tropical cocktail with a hint of pineapple and coconut. There’s a reason why it’s gaining popularity across the Eurofandom — and most especially in Finland. It’s the drink that helps UMK winner Käärijä go “Cha Cha Cha!

In his Eurovision 2023 song, Finn Jere Pöyhönen — he behind the Käärijä pseudonym — sings that, “this exhausting week and many long days are behind…There’s only bar and piña colada on my mind”.
He then holds on to the drink with both hands, like, cha, cha, cha, cha, cha. The lyrics quickly became iconic in the Eurovision world and across the Nordic country.
After the victory, Käärijä wanted to treat himself to some piña colada at the afterparty at Turku’s Logomo. However, he had to opt out for something else as all of the piña coladas had sold out for the night, as he confessed in his interview with Finnish newspaper Ilta-Sanomat. Team Wiwi were at the afterparty as well, and we can confirm — all of the tropical cocktail ingredients were out of stock!
As a sign of the increased interest in the drink, Finnish media have been offering tips on how to enjoy the refreshing piña colada at home or with friends through a series of recipes for the famous cocktail. Finnish liquor website Viinimaa even offers a non-alcoholic version for any teatotalers out there.

Besides skyrocketing to the top of many fan lists, Käärijä manages to make every single part of his performance and Eurovision participation iconic. Have you seen the T-shirts Käärjiä made with a quote from his first English interview with us — “It’s crazy, it’s party”?
Check out the shirt below, and then swipe to hear our interview with Jere back in January just before his song and participation were announced to the public.

Are you a fan of “Cha cha cha”? And what about the Piña Colada? Let us know down below!
This year is insane. For instance, Loreen is my favorite this year and I’ve noticed that when wiwibloggs posted something about her, there was pretty mean comments and I thought that it was just Loreen.. But now I see there’s here as well. And ofc it’s because it’s a favorite as well. And I’m just thinking, Why? Why can’t people enjoy their favorite song without the hate, why can’t wiwiblogg post whatever they like?? As someone said, they’re not EBU! They can post whatever they like. If you don’t have nice thing to say then dont say it. I find… Read more »
Also, wiwibloggs is a blog site, not a news one, so they don’t have to be “objective and thorough” too
I think Finland will win this year.
I hope Finland will win this year.
I feel like the negativity in Eurovision bubble just keeps getting worse every year, if you don’t like a song you don’t have to go and tell everyone about how much it sucks, just go enjoy things that you like instead. No need to start fighting with random people online and ruin everybody’s mood. I on the other hand am going to stay here and be proud that my country has finally sent a song in Finnish and just wanna say that it really warms my heart that so many people like the song too since for years I’ve listened… Read more »
Whoever wins, this will be one of 3 most memorable entries from 2023. And in good way. Idk how people can complain about it.
I don’t like pinã coladas. Coconut Milk, pineapple juice and rum – too sweet. Is there some other recipe which is not quite as sugary?
Try a Loma Bonita cocktail
Why do all the favs have so much hate in the comment section…
Samo mi se spava, Tattoo and now cha cha cha.
I refuse to believe these are real people.
Some bitter lowlife person must be sending bots to the fans because they think this will change people’s perspective on the songs..
if you decide to do the same sh*t to Italy, Spain, France and Czechia then I just wanna tell you that no one will ever like you in life and it should stay that way.
No, we are real. And it’s sad that I have to comment these things, because I really love cha cha cha and Tattoo. But the fact that you (and a lot of others) cannot see wiwibloggs being biased towards these entries is kinda sad. As the biggest Eurovision site they shouldn’t be biased, shouldn’t force on their readers to hype up certain entries. But they always do. They wrote like 5 articles for Ulrikke this year and completely erased her from memory when they saw she’s not winning. Pathetic. Wonder who’s gonna be next…
Wiwi is not the EBU. There’s no obligation to give everybody equal attention.
That’s crappy journalism then.
Love the song, but isn’t piña colada a drink for alcohol lightweights?
The people who disliked my comment drink piña colada I guess. Pussies.
The fact that this was article worthy just proves that Wiwibloggs is biased. We get it, you have favorites. No need to push them down people’s throats, jeez.
I understand that it can be annoying to see certain artists get highlighted over others but Wiwi can do what they want.
Of course they can – but that’s not the point! “Jamie” is simply making us aware of how biased Wiwibloggs really is (to me Deban is generally speaking the only one with some integrity)
It’s normal, expected and even wanted that they are putting more focus on the favorites: https://eurovisionworld.com/odds/eurovision Sweden and Finland are currently favorites, so of course they get the most attention. Later when rehearsals start, and if we see a third country skyrocket, I can bet you we will see articles about it. Loreen is a former winner and probably the most popular in this millennia, and her new song is a banger. Of course she get attention… Finland just has everything is right with this song and performance, and then it’s in Finnish (all the traditionalist should cry of happiness).… Read more »
They’re only writing articles about the favourites of the competition, like what is your problem? Go moan somewhere else
Then don’t come here to this site. There are other blogs and fans sites about ESC you can read. Or, be like the typical American and not care about ESC at all.
OT: As we know the Austrian entry will be revealed at March 8th. ESC Crystal Ball has once again leaked a snippet of it and I must say to yall now.
It actually sounds good lmafo!
is is the poe poe poe song?
Yup that one, and people who were part of the selection process said it’s an absolute banger.
Apparently it’ll be called who the hell is Edgar? We’ll see in two days if it’s surprising and funny Banger, or a cringey joke song.
IT ACTUALLY SOUNDS INCREDIBLE, I’M NOT EVEN JOKING! :’D
You do know Käärijä was exposed by a Finnish Author and a Finlandia Prize Winner Sofia Oksanen for following pro-Russian, anti-vaccination radicalized political group on Facebook? He claims he supports Ukraine, but somehow he still managed to follow this super radical group that has only existed for a year. MTV3 made an article on it in Finnish. Of course every site wants to keep this silent, because how does it look when a new NATO country sends a song to ESC made by a guy who might not exactly be nice…
Following such accounts does not mean you support team. For example, I often read Russian state media for the sake of interest in seeing how pure heartedly they lie to everyone.
Are you kidding?!
This is incorrect. He has made a very clear statement of condemning Russia’s actions and does not support any statements by this party. Many people follow this party just to laugh at their stupidity. They are absolutely ridiculous. Käärijä has probably not realised that he very suddenly over night became a very public person so people care about what he does. Finland is the country in Europe that supports Ukraine’s war efforts fully. 83% of the Finns think the matter is extremely serious and 11% says it’s serious. EU average is 33%. This is because of our history. For somebody… Read more »
WE DONT CARE ABOUT POLITICS! We just care about the music and Kaarija brings the music! This will only end up uniting both sides to his cause!
Had a bet on loreen by any chance?
Do sleep with Kaarija´s photo under your billow? LoL
You can actually be a nice guy even though you follow a pro-Russian, anti-vaccination radicalized political group on Facebook?
In his interview 3 years ago Käärijä was asked what he despises and answered war. There is a proof from it 3 years ago in Youtube. If he despises war, how on earth could he be pro-Russian. He has also said he is against Russians actions in Ukraine. is a good guy, stop spreading BS about him. There was even an article in Finland written by a journalist who said he follows many type of accounts in social media including Kreml and political groups he does not agree with and I think this article was meant to say if you… Read more »
Is this what we’re doing? Spamming as much random hate posts on artists cus we don’t like their entries?
?? Site maintenance please remove this misinformation and slander. Truth of the matter can be read in twitter.
This “Toni” was peddling his false news earlier in youtube but had to take the video down because it got reported.
The wording was the same, as is the misspelling of the writer’s name, it’s Sofi without an A.
Apparently a huge! Loreen fan. Check it out if you want.
He also claims to have known Robin Packalen personally and likes to bad mouth him too. The username in yt is @TwistedElegance
This “Toni” is a troll who was spreading this false news in youtube (apparently I’m not allowed to add link) before but had to take his video down because it got reported. The wording was exactly the same as is the misspelling of the author’s -who has already recanted her words- name. It is sofi without an a.
He also claims to have known Robin Packalen personally and likes to bring out “inside information” about how “terrible” person RP supposedly is.
You can put the names of the videos and the channels that uploaded them plus his username 😉
Here is old interview of Käärijä that is 3 years old. He was asked what he despises and Käärijä answered; war. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jaB7_K0Vwig&t=20s He also has said that he is against the war that Russia has started, has been against it since day one, he has been deeply upset by it. He supports equality and human rights. https://www.iltalehti.fi/musiikki/a/a0bbf67f-e7e6-447f-b353-c1964be94651 The political group/party you are speaking is relatively new and there has been different kind of views in the political group. The new group has searched its direction. It was critical of Covid politics in Finland. Later, the chairman of the group has… Read more »
Congratulations! Your comment is the most downvoted one in this site’s history :DD
IKR? I’ve never seen a comment with -100+! That’s impressive!
Indeed! I think the previous record holders were at -56 or -62 iirc XD
I´ve heard about that Kaarija mabe supporting Russia if that´s the case then it is not right he represents Finland.
Would NEVER DO THAT and has been self correct this stupid rumour!
Why you have to share fake news? Käärijä has already made a statement that he condemns Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Stop spreading that dangerous conspiracy theory, please! While I’m not an expert, it sounds like defamation, spreading false information and stalking: who on earth would go to scroll through paranoically someone else’s list of followed on social media? It’s not healthy, and then even to come up with such a thing of lies and then spreading it forward. By that same logic if a politician follows his or her opponent on social media, does it make him or her the supporter of that opponent? Or if an athlete or a sports team does the same thing to their opponents? Or… Read more »
you are absolutely manic
Bailey’s is whiskey and cream, not chocolate.
I think it would be great to write more about different dimensions of this song such as how it reflects Finnish mentality or deconstruct toxic masculinity.
People don’t talk about the meaning of this song enough.
I dont like this song. 0/10
That´s not even a song it is a horrid noise. Kaarija cannot rap he only talks angrily-
Seems like a nice guy and often rooting for Finland – but honestly – this year’s entry … do I need say more?
Like Yankee said, Käärijä and really the whole Nordic and Baltic areas will own ESC. I don’t know, I have the feeling when might see them all slip through.
PS. I haven’t seen Ritoli since the Israel snippet was released. Is that an indicator?
To my understanding Ritoli was banned for spamming xd
Nooooo, why, it was so much fan downvoting each and every of his spam comments, hahaha.
Käärijä is going to be the Destiny of ESC23.
Well, Ukraine is going to win whether we like it or not. So in that sense, yes.
No it is not
No they won’t. They’ll place like 17th or something.
I highly doubt he’ll get a little televotes as Destiny did.
Tell me again why Måneskin had to change their “Zitti e buoni” lyrics for Rotterdam?
Apparently, “Måneskin had to remove a couple of profanities and to shorten the song a bit to comply with the ESC rules.” So… did I miss something about “Cha Cha Cha”?
No. I’m just wondering why a few “bad words” were so scary, but an alcohol brand sponsoring the contest is not.
They had a few swear words.
We must protect the children.
from gays LOL
always used by right wing…
Also has to be noted that Cha Cha Cha finally made it to #1 in Finland this week! 😀
