Brunette has been keeping her cards close to her chest since being revealed as Armenia’s act for Eurovision 2023. But now her hand has been dealt and we finally get to hear her entry for the contest, “Future Lover”.
Brunette – “Future Lover”
Upon the reveal, Armenia’s head of delegation — David Tserunyan — said he was looking forward to showcasing a bright new star from Armenia:
“For the second year in a row, we are excited to use this opportunity and lead the path for young and talented singer-songwriters from Armenia to the world’s biggest stage – the Eurovision Song Contest! Brunette is a true artist, with a very unique style and energy, that is transmitted through her every single performance. I’m confident she will make us all proud and find her place in the hearts of millions of Eurofans, just like she did in ours.”
Who is Brunette?
Brunette is a relatively new and up-and-coming act with several songs under her belt. This includes the chilled lounge track “Smoke Break”, clocking in 3.5 million views on YouTube.
At the time of Brunette’s announcement as Armenia’s Eurovision 2023 singer, Executive Director of AMPTV – Armenia’s broadcaster – Hovhannes Movsisyan advised that going for a younger, fresher act was part of their game plan. This is especially after the commercial success of Rosa Linn’s “Snap” since Eurovision 2022. On the selection of Brunette he said:
“Last year, sending a young artist to Eurovision was justified. The song is still successful and captivates millions of fans. I hope this year we will surprise the European audience with a unique Armenian artist.”
