Poll: Who will win Eurovision 2023?
As you’re well aware, the results of the Eurovision Song Contest are determined by a 50/50 jury-televote split. The votes of professional jury members don’t always align with the preferences of the public.
In recent years the overall Eurovision winner has not won both segments of the vote. In 2022, Ukraine’s In 2021, Italy’s Måneskin topped the televote, but only placed fourth with the jury. While in 2019 The Netherlands’ Duncan Laurence won neither — placing third with the jury and second with the public. It was a similar story for Israel’s Netta in 2018 — first with the public, third with the jury. Portugal’s Salvador Sobral was the last Eurovision winner to win both segments of the vote.
Who do you WANT to win Eurovision 2023? And who do you think WILL win? And what about the public-televote split? Let us know what you’re thinking down below.
Omg!! After listening to all the songs for the first time tonight – what the heck were you all thinking???? Sweden??? That song grated on me from the first minute!! That was your fave???????
Armenia sweden filnland
I am swedish buy I really don’t think Loreen will win. With that said, I do think she is amazing and the best choice for Sweden this year. But there are better songs. I think Spain, France or Italy has a better chance to win the jury vote. And I think Finland will win the televoting. But who knows? It’s gonna be a great show for sure! My personal top 5:
1. Armenia
2. Norway
3. Spain
4. Italy
5. Moldova
Wondering what some countries like Sweden or Spain are planning to do with their staging knowing that they can’t hang anything from the ceiling.
Spain is the classiest, followed by Italy and France. None of the three will win. Armenia is the best outsider. UK won’t disgrace itself. I don’t get ireland or Australia. Both fairly boring. Sweden will win, but I hope it doesn’t. I really wish Poland would win, if only to upset the Eurovision snobs, but the juries will never let it through. I’m not sure about Ukraine – could do very well, depending on the political feelings at the time. In a couple of weeks we will all have had the early warning siren on our phones, so that might… Read more »
i really dont get the hype about uk
idk why but Finland really did grow in me!!! Its def gonna be a toss between sweden and finland in the televote this year. Sweden is great but Loreen has won before and the song and the staging is kinda boring and usual, its not bad but very ordinary imo.
Im from Spain and i think France is the Best song this year!!
(Repeating this because the bot didn’t like a word it didn’t bother about last year.) It’s a classy song, but is competing with an equally classy song with Italy and Spain. I think that will split the vote, sadly. Plus France has a record of staging its entries in a manner best described by another commenter here as “bat**** crazy”. They managed to tone it down a bit with Voila, but I wouldn’t bet the farm on their staging this year. I have money on it so I hope I’m wrong.
Loreen repeats the history. Also Carola was sure about her second victory in Athens 2006 but guess what happened? Finland happened!
Oo oo oo, cha cha cha, poe poe poe… Year of the onomatopeias in any case!
so why Finland when they are poorly copying Tommy Cash?
It’s the first time my own country’s song is also my personal favourite. It hit me in the head from the first time I heard it. I need crazy and I need party. The perfect get away song after these suck ass years.
For fun I just checked the results from previous years on Wiwibloggs and;
Thank you so much for this list, I dunno how you found it cause when I google past Wiwi polls, they have hidden the results (?!). But anyway, this list helps me a lot in analyzing stuff. I’m a EV nerd 😛
This list just shows perfectly that everything can happen. Not sure if this year Loreen will win but I hope Spain gets at least the bronze.
My Top 10:
1. Sweden
2. Czechia
3. Austria
4. Norway
5. Italy
6. Israel
7. United Kingdom
8. The Netherlands
9. Finland
10. Ireland
When I read I see that many speak negatively about, for example, Finland and Sweden, which are favourites. But what gives points is not how many negative comments or opinions there are, but how many that have a number as your absolute favorite. Sometimes I think negative comments in the comment can make people more engaged and inclined to vote for a song.
You’re absolutely right. I wasn’t planning to vote for Sweden so I can spread my votes to my other favourites but I’m definitely voting for “Tattoo” now. The more downvotes the obsessed ‘fans’ give, the more actual votes it will translate to where it really matters.
France should win. It is the absolute, excellent, Eurovision Song Contest entry: beautiful lyrics and singing, a perfect mix of a french ballad with funky, catchy refrain, sung entirely in the national language, by a captivating and talented young singer with a unique and lush style
Sweden will win. We all know it. Second part of Cha Cha Cha is for children. Cirkus
Cha Cha is not even a song no vocals, not a good performance, just wiwibloggs follower are being toxic because their country won’t win and they vote for FInland. Sweden has started to search a venue for 2024 already.
If I were Swedish I wouldn’t be “counting my chickens before they hatch”. Former winners returning like Charlotte Perrelli, Carola, Niamh Kavanagh, Dana International and Lena, didn’t fare so well the second time around. Sometimes it’s best to quit while you’re on top. Tatoo is no Euphoria. As for Finland, Really? It’s just noise.
I think France might be a dark horse. I like the song and she looks glamourus. I have at hard time believing Finland will win.
I love Finland’s song, but I have a hard time believing that too, it’s just too raw and edgy that its wide appeal isn’t something I wouldn’t have expected 😀
Everyone knows already Sweden will win. You’re all welcome to Stockholm ??. Ps. Dont be upset about your favorite not winning, be happy for Sweden winning. Love and peace ????
Love love peace peace. Please bring back Petra Mede to host. And please host it in Friends Arena, we need some real chance to get tickets this time.
No, we are not happy with Sweden winning. Swedish entry is a repetition of Euphoria 2012: same singer, same music, same staging, even same haircut. Why should Sweden win? There is nothing new, original, or exciting about this entry
The staging is awesome, and something never seen before on Eurovision. The song slaps and is catchy as hell. Loreens vocals slay the hell out of most of the competition, at least in emotion and power. It is an awesome song. So that is why
You’re just a little too biased to be objective.
Have you see and listen to Eufiria, its not the same
Well I have not seen any other new ground breaking performances this year. Must songs sound like something we heard before. Winning Eurovision usually needs three components: a good song, a good performance (the Singer must be able ton sing not rely on to much backtrack) and the staging should fit the song. Who do you think have all these three?
Why shouldn’t Sweden win? Is this the ‘most original song award’? “Tattoo” is enjoyable, memorable, well produced and exceptionally performed and cleverly staged. It ticks all the boxes like all recent winners have. Was “Toy”, “Arcade” or “Zitti e buoni” groundbreaking? Or if you look into other songs that did very well in the recent years was there anything ‘original’ that we haven’t seen before in “SloMo”, “Space Man”, “Voilá”, “Spirit in the sky” or “Fuego”? I’m really perplexed by the fans’ attitude sometimes.
I agree. Most of the songs that fans say are believing to be original are worse copies of other songs than those they judge as generic. I am so tired of this. It is the whole package that makes a winner.
Sweden is always an excellent host! Best wishes from Norway
Norway is too? Love Alessandra and will most likely place my vote for her this year. Good luck from ??
This year Sweden is bringing nothing new. Seen and heard it before.
My personal top 5 from Serbia
1. Israel
2. Italy
3. Czech Rep.
4. Slovenia
5. Spain
finally, i see Slovenia in top 5!
Slovenia is my top 5: and equally 10/10 all of them
It´s pretty obvious than Loreen is going to win. She is going to win the jurys and also the televote, there´s no doubt about it. The real question is, who is going to be N.2 and N.3? I Think is btw Spain, Noway, Finland and Israel
Exactly!
As I start to listen to all the entries- and think about live potential – my current top 10 are-
10-Norway
9- Australia
8- Portugal
7- UK
6- Czechia
5- Finland
4- Spain
3- Moldova
2- Sweden
1- Georgia
My top 10 with no particular order: Malta – France – Sweden – Spain – Norway – Slovenia – Georgia – Serbia – Lithuania -Moldova I guess Finland will do it so well on televoting, and maybe Spain on the jury votes. I only guess that the Rest of World votes will be made up mostly of Latinamerican votes, so I guess Spain will rank high in that option too. I don’t see many Asian countries watching AND voting live as the contest is broadcasted at 2-3-4am in most of Asian countries. And besides Turkey, Russia and maybe other former… Read more »
My top 10 in no particular order:
Finland
Slovenia
Latvia
Armenia
Serbia
Germany
United Kingdom
Spain
Croatia
France
Dammit, forgot to put Austria and Czechia, let’s make that a top 12 xd
These are literally in my Top 3, along Sweden and I also decided that I’ll have a Top 12 because 10 spots are not enough lol. 8/12 also in common is not bad.
My Top 5 is completely different to everyone else’s because I enjoy different songs for different reasons. Not really bothered how they do at Eurovision, I’m just glad I discovered the following 5 songs by:
5) Belgium
4) UK
3) Austria
2) Australia
1) Finland
finland? holy lord…welcome to the state of human inteligence in 2023
To be honest, Finland or Spain should take the win, I get it, Sweden does have an “OK” song but I feel like its overhyped and super generic…
Yes, i totally agree!
My top 10 for ESC 2023 1. Slovenia?? (simply authentic, just love it…. and that’s not because I from Slovenia and I understand the lyrics, but the fact is that this is lowkey high quality song!) 2. Czechia ??(omg the slavic vajb hit different?) 3. Sweden ?? 4. United Kingdom ??(Da da dada..?) 5. Australian ?? (???) 6. Lithuania ?? (?i?to t?to?) 7. Norway ?? ( la regina ) 8. Spain ??(sad but so artistically beautiful) 9. Serbia??( I don’t like his voice okay?don’t get me wrong, because sonically is bomb? and I know this is not the kind of… Read more »
My absolute 10/10 – and very surprised because they are really from different genres and singing in different languages- are Slovenia, Portugal, Moldavia, Spain and France. Any of them I would love to see as the contest winner. I do like Estonia, Uk, Armenia, Czechia, Austria and Serbia, but prefer by far the other five. Sweden, I do like the song but I am hating this overhyped obsession with Loreen; Finland is growing on me but still not my thing; Israel just no; Norway, meh, nothing original about it; Croatia….some really nice songs in their contest and then…………..
1 Spain, far away the best this year but like many years before dont go to be recognice
2 Finland
3 Italy
4 Serbia
5 Portugal
pop british music is good but thank god is not the only style music in this planet ,:)
I wish you all participants good luck! My favorites are Italy, France and Austria. Regarding to Sweden’s song, although I liked Loreen’s other songs, “Tattoo” song didn’t impress me so much.
Sweden and Armenia
Not Ukraine
My favorites are Italy and Finland. I really find Sweden’s entry overhyped just because of Loreen’s popularity; rather than the quality of song. Only performance is good but the song itself is a bit boring after listening it multiple times.
Top 5 from Croatia
5. Serbia
4. Moldova
3. Czech
2. Latvia
1. Finland
Team #kaarija
Finland is overrated
cyprus
Sick of hearing about Sweden winning a contest of even taken place yet and nobody knows what’s going to happen to shut your faces
My top 5, from sweden
Serb from Sweden haha
Why people think Spain will do well? It sort of sounds like France last year, and we know that didn’t really work for France..
Matter of being on the point with voice and doing a good staging. France unfortunately was not on the point. More a mess than presenting a very good, particular entry. They were good, but not good enough for the great song. Spain 2023 will do it better. They already proved it.
Absolutamente !
Not similar to France at all. This is a flamenco song with a more subtle electronic production. The vocals, staging and her stage presence are all top notch while that wasn’t the case for France last year.
That´s true !
Do you actually think Flamenco resembles the ethnic music from Bretagne? No pun intended by the way, I genuinely want to know if you’ve found any similarities
There’s a big Spanish fan community and it’s quite influential. And there’s also an alternative eurofan community that gets obsessed with everything that is not conventional pop. I’m not sure about the song myself tbh. I can’t enjoy it because I find it too complex, but I appreciate the performance. I don’t think that it will connect with people at home as well as Spanish fans want to think, since European audiences have barely any exposure to New flamenco sounds, but I do think that juries will reward the artistry and the vocals. Top 10 is of course possible but… Read more »
I´m one of these “alternative” eurofans
It’s fine to be “alternative” or anything else you might like. What is not fine is people being obsessed is all I’m saying 🙂
No it don´t sound like France last year. The singer from Spain can sing and is very professional
jurys will vote crazy for Spain, is the best act vocally and also is very artistic and different. She is not going to be top 5 in televote, but she is going to be top 3 in juries.
Not you just thinking it will end in a bad position because it has some folklore too ??. The staging it’s so much better and the song is completely different. Also she’s proving in all the pre parties that she knows what’s doing and that the public loves her performances.
I think this is a little early to say since we havent seen the staging of each performance… judging just by the Song my favourites are sweden, norway and finland 🙂 and I dont care who wins out of those, I would be happy with either one 🙂 again, this is just my opinion judging from the Songs without any political impact and/or stagings from NF or the ESC itself
A lot of us are overlooking Ukraine as a potential winner again. Does the song itself scream winner vibes? Not really, although the revamp made it contest worthy. But don’t underestimate the appeal these 3min will have on the European audience, when Ukraine shows Europe they’re not only still here, but looking ahead and creating themselves a new future. Many will call this political, I call it human. We’ve all been moved by their resilience that will be translated in stage in another manner than last year’s winners. Also, there’s a high chance the Ukrainian team will again come up… Read more »
Agree. Ukraine will do much better than people think. We must also remember all the ukrainans who are now spread out over all of europe. They will probably vote for their home country (which I perfectly understand). My guess is that Ukraine will win the televote, and depending on how the juries rate them they could even win the whole contest, again.
No Finland will win the televote
sweden is going to win the televote
Yes, and it will get 0 from the jury vote
Yeah tbh, Ukraine’s song is quality this year and I think there will be viewers the night of the final that actually really like it and will vote for it. It’s just a shame that people will automatically think voting for Ukraine this year is political because it’s not, its a good song in its own right and i’m sure it’ll be staged well.
Also people seem to be conveniently forgetting that Ukraine did not sweep either the televote or jury vote in junior eurovision (like some predicted, i’m guessing out of bitterness).
Ukraine is very unpopular this year in the fandom – last year it wasn´t
According the rumors about the insane statging by israel i go israel
Please not…. This would be the worst decision
Israel going over the top will probably end up ruining their chances
So far my top 10
1 Spain 12/12
2.Serbia 11/12
3.Finland 10;5/12
4.Moldova 10/12
5.Portugal 10/12
6.Slovenia 9,5/12
7.Australia 9/12
8.France 9/12
9.Malta 8,5/12
10.Armenia 8,5/12
followed by Sweden on 11th place
My bottom 5
33.San Marino 2/12
34.Iceland 2/12
35.Belgium 1,5/12
36.Israel 1/12
37.Poland 0/12
Austria is 12th
A quite good level this year. although I miss more ballads just like Netherlands and Portugal had in 2022.
Serbia hahaha kid who sing about video game , really??
Video game inspired, very horror/syfy feeling like a music video <3 epic, one of serbia's best entries
Indeed! I loved the vibe and even moreso when I checked the lyrics, as all concepts fit into place
If you bother to check the lyrics, you’ll find out that it’s a clever critique of today’s society’s lethargy
Finland’s song is awful. I HOPE YOU WIN LOREEN. FROM GREECE.
i prefer Cyprus
Loreen, Noa & Kaarija are my faves, so I hope one of them will get the win this year <3
So many experts here, so many opinions that are voiced as “facts” and so many disses from one poster to another since “I know better and your stance sucks”…
Be kind, people, in 2 months we’ll know how it turned out. May the best song/performance wins!
When I read some comments I really think if this is the new modern Hunger Games ?? apart from try to buy tickets for Eurovision shows or for the Eras tour of Taylor Swift.
I think this year will be a toss between Sweden or Spain with Finland close behind as the dark horse. I dont see any other major contender.
Serbia !
I hope they not gonna be top 10. Europe dont wanr a screening lady from Spain. Tgey wont sonthing new and fresch
I’m afraid you’re bound to be disappointed. Spain is going to win this.
Its israel finland or sweden, we still didnt see israel staging so i will wait in order to judge
Israel will fail to qualify. Just like they did in 2012,2013&2014 with 3 great songs. Mark my words!
Finland as the dark horse?? It is number two at the bookies.. that’s not a dark horse at all. And Spain a major contender? mmmmmm….. We shall see.
Uk will in top 3 ?
no, there´s too much commercial songs, Sweden, Finland, France, Israel, Norway…she is not going to do that well in the competition. But in charts he is going to do amazing
Israel and Norway too
It’s a runaway win from Sweden this year and fans are in denial because this isn’t tick-tock generation music. 2nd place will be a good 60+ points behind and this will probably be Finland. There will be years a song will run away with it, and like in 2017 the same will happen this year.
That would be very dissaponitng, I respecr mt Loreen and her previous win, but this is far from the best this year
Opinions are subjective. For me Sweden is the best song and performance this year, but that’s the kind of music I listen to the most.
The only problem with that scenario is: there are plenty of much better songs than the rehash from Sweden.
