Portugal's Mimicat confirmed for London Eurovision Party 2023

Lisbon, Liverpool, London. Fresh off her victory at Festival da Canção 2023, the “Ai coração” songstress is embarking on the Eurovision promo circuit. Portugal’s Mimicat will see you at the London Eurovision Party 2023.

On Sunday 16 April, Mimicat will sing “Ai coração” in London at the UK’s biggest and best Eurovision warm-up party. At our state of the art 2000-capacity venue at HERE at Outernet, Mimicat joins a star-studded lineup as they perform their Eurovision track on British soil for the first time.

Mimicat to perform at London Eurovision Party 2023

Mimicat, 38, represents Portugal at Eurovision 2023 with her song “Ai coração”. She previously tried her luck for the Portuguese Eurovision ticket back in 2001, competing in Festival da Canção under her previous stage name Izamena. Two decades later, she returned to Festival da Canção and won the hearts of the juries and the public, earning the right to fly the flag for Portugal in Liverpool.

Now here you had a choice to be rude. Portugal doesn’t usually flop, the resulta have been very good the last editions. And everybody deserves a reaction, its only fair. Or do you think there would be any eurovision at all if only SVT and Rai took part?

She was 15 apparently and wrote her song. She came a long way, though…

She’s already one of the most endearing artists of 2023, and this just makes me even happier, seeing that she’s been plugging away for a long time. (And there are two acts at this party who have been doing it even longer!)

I love this performance, it’s so authentic, I can feel the portuguese culture and music and she seems to be a very nice person.

I see this qualifying as its one of the most authentic entries this year. No plastic fantastique or a big smooth production behind it. Its delicious. Good Luck Portugal.
