Eurovision news: 28 March 2023

Mae Muller hits three million streams

She wrote a song, and it’s doing numbers. The UK’s Mae Muller celebrated hitting three million streams of “I Wrote A Song” on Spotify. As of 28 March, only seven other Eurovision 2023 songs have surpassed the three million mark — France, Czechia, Poland, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Italy.

Pasha Parfeni records Eurovision postcard

Preparations for Liverpool are underway in Liverpool as Pasha Parfeni records his postcard for Moldova. Before every performance at Eurovision, a short ‘postcard’ video is shown showcasing the artist — and often, their home country, their interests, or a location in the host country. Pasha is out in the woods recording his video. And thus, the speculation begins — what will the 2023 postcards look like?

Wanna know what’s the theme of this year‘s postcards? all 37 will be filmed in each participants’ home country, not the host nation as it had been for the last several contests since 2018. The last time we had home country, postcards was probably 2017. It Will be interesting to see how many contest have done postcards inside the host nation or outside it.

The UK aren’t really the host, so it makes sense. They are hosting “on behalf” of somebody else. I wonder what Ukraine’s postcard will be.

I think Pasha will enjoy the temperature more in a week when he plants a tree in the Eurovision Forest in Jerusalem.
