On Sunday the stars of Eurovision 2023 descended on London for the last major pre-party of the year. The London Eurovision Party unfolded inside the glitzy HERE at Outernet, a high-spec, high-tech venue in the heart of central London. And from that heart we felt the magic of Spanish flamenco, Finnish rap, Icelandic pop, Serbian industrial and much, much more.
But who slayed the hardest? You can re-watch all of the live performances in our playlist below. Then scroll down and vote in our poll. You can vote for as many countries as you’d like, but you can only vote one time. Be sure to tick the box next to each act you want to support before hitting enter.
Please note: Our playlist includes all performances, including from special guests. The poll only includes artists who are participating in Eurovision 2023.
After you vote, why not stick around and re-watch our live-stream from the press day? It’s pasted below.
London Eurovision Party 2023: Who gave the best live performance?
The stage at HERE at Outernet welcomed most of this year’s favourites. These included Sweden’s Loreen, who literally had the crowd jumping, and Finland’s Käärijä, who continues to ride a wave of pre-party momentum.
Spain’s Blanca Paloma delivered yet another rousing performance, while Norway’s Alessandra served Norwegian forest fantasy meets sea shanty. Austria’s Teya & Salena shimmied in front of some stunning visuals, which ended with a portrait of the American author Edgar Allan Poe.
There was one period in the show where you’d have thought we were at a rock festival. Australia’s Voyager, San Marino’s Piqued Jacks and Slovenia’s Joker Out performed one after the other — perhaps to make life easier for the crew, since they needed so many guitar stands!
Mae Muller — the U.K.’s home contestant — had the honour of closing the show with a special set and live band. On top of “I Wrote a Song,” she covered ABBA’s “Gimme Gimme Gimme!” and performed one of her other original numbers.
So who did you vote for and why? Let us know in the comments section down below. And while you’re here, why not watch our livestream from the press centre? It’s filled with three hours of commentary and interviews as the stars stop by our table.
Even though the Austrian song IS very good i cannot figure out what kind of performance can do Justice to the song in Liverpool: if they go for a “theatrical” kind of act It might be too messy, childish and a tad to (wannabe) funny.
If they go for a more conventional performance with dancers and choreo It might be too childish.
Spain, Portugal and Finland.
Are people voting for the best performances or their favourites? It seems like the latter as some singers are doing, well, not so well vocally and yet they still outvote others who delivered and were much better.
I think this is same kind like press poll voting during rehealsals?
Portugal, Mimicat…go girl!!
Mark my words, San Marino will qualify
Norway wins for squashing vocal drama in the bud and showing that Alessandra can, in fact, sing the hell out of her song when she’s sober and healthy (and taking it seriously). It feels very much like someone told her of the gossiping and she decided to step up, telling the world to stop doubting her. In my eyes, she succeeded. Which is more than what can be said for poor Netherlands, I hope they figure it out.
I fear that Norway will be a non-qualifier, just like Ronela was last year. She’s going first in a semi which will end with Sweden and Finland. They will take almost all of the nordic televotes. People won’t remember the songs in positions 1-4.
0 chance she doesn’t make the final
Haha you must be drunk ?? Norway will top 3 the semi and maybe win it.
The only ones that don’t enjoy Norway are the inner fans of Eurovision who likes Spain, Armenia, Portugal and Sweden aka lorreen. The world will be smarter 🙂 Norway has the strongest vocal in this euro, and the hardest song to sing, and she is an entertainer. Only blind people don’t know this unless you purposely ignore it
That stage was empty and with a song that has a lot of performance elements, Kaarija completely owned it with his own charisma. Finland are going to win this year, I can feel it.
Mae Muller depended on backing vocals. Austria much better than I expected. Slovenia are full of life and energy but I wish they’d make the instruments at least look like they are being played (I so hope that go back to their original live performance for the big show). Vesna are improving but I’m concerned. Shame, one of the best songs this year.
OK, just watched The Busker. If that doesn’t qualify, I’m done.
Austria and Vesna sucks live….
Most seem to have improved which is good Mae Mill and was a highlight fir me as it seems she had more energy than usual
Also Slovenia once again proving they should be in Top 5 this year my personal winner
Think Belgium is deffo a shock qualifier is gone up in my ranking so has San Marino though too
I will keep my fingers crossed that Monika did make conclusions after the London pre-party. It was terrible, with, I assume, the white guy singing over both the female backing singers and Monika herself. I am a bit worried knowing she may ruin what worked during the PIN final. Nevertheless, I think Vesna and Alessandra improved the most during the pre-parties. Obviously, some acts were steadily great, and many many acts were going downward on the path from the first to the last pre-party.
The Busker have been delivering every single night, if they bring that energy to Liverpool there is no way they won’t qualify! ?
By the look of things Sweeden might win the Jury vote while Finland the televote, so we could possibly have a Jamala / Duncan case with either Spain, France or Israel snatching the glass microphone trophy in the last second in a very likely dramatic ending!!
*typo – Sweden
I don’t understand, in that scenario Israel has a high jury vote or public vote? Both? Because I don’t see any of that happening
It’s all about how much Jury and televote agree, I think it’s going to be a a very open final
If anything, with a top notch performance, I could see Norway, or less likely, Austria be the one that comes 2nd/3rd with both televotes and juries and in total still win. But to be fair I don’t think that’s likely.
My overall guess based on what we’ve seen in terms of live performances so far would be:
Televote:
1. Finland
2. Sweden
3. Norway
4. Austria
5. Spain
Juries:
1. Sweden
2. Spain
3. Finland
4. Austria
5. France/Norway
Overall:
1. Sweden
2. Finland
3. Spain
4. Austria
5. Norway
That would only work if the gaps are small, but it’s looking as if the jury and televote wins will be by big margins. I suspect that someone will get such a large televote that we’ll already know there won’t be enough points for anyone else to win. Just as in 2021 and 2022.
Piqued Jacks performing Sunflower and Joker Out performing Umazane Misli are seriously the highlights of this pre-party season!
People vote their favourites, not the best performance, pathetic actually….
Although her song is not my cup of tea , Blanca Paloma brings uniqueness to the stage and puts on an excellent show. I wouldn’t be surprised if she wins the whole thing.
What show, she played guitar with a string and literally did not move entire song. Wtf is this 😀 less show = more show ?
She seemed flat on the scene. Her voice is strong for this song, but only this song, her voice is shaped for this line of tone..
What do you need her to do? Acrobatics? Running?.
O man you i might sound like the Spanish hooligan Eurofan but you sound like the stupid moron Eurofan so we are even
Tural and Turan will qualify btw, remember me.
In order to qualify you need to get points.
Not sure where those would come from.
* mysterious SIM cards springing up *
LMAOOO
Ehm no
POE POE POE, babes.
Without a doubt, their best live performance so far. I’m literally experiencing a war inside my heart about who I want to win ESC2023 more, Austria or Finland, haha.
I disagree, I do not perceive any charisma between them during their performance on stage. Their movements are rather static and their choreography lacks enthusiasm.
…..It’s a pre-party??? Did you see Loreen perform the exact same choreography in the pre-parties like she did in Melodifestivalen?
I don’t want to defend her- but Loreen doesn’t have such a stage setup, so I don’t know how she would perform such a choreography in the first place. Anyway, say what you want, but the Austrian choreography looks something like a performance in a kindergarten in front of parents. And even if it’s a pre-party, other performers have put much more effort into their performance. It really annoys me when some people defend their favorites by saying, “It’s a party, but hey, people paid for this pre-party, and they expect the performers to make an effort in their performance,… Read more »
They had literally no movements and still can’t hit high notes, best live performance wtf 😀 sometimes I’m wondering if I’m seeing the same performance as some others.
Watched few videos people in the public made (and this is not so visible from wiwi videos), but waht I find amaizing is seeing the crowd singing together in Finnish, Croatian, Romanian and all other languages. That really is the point of Eurovision 🙂
A bit like London 2012 when the crowd sang the national anthems. In Britain we get the greatest audiences.
Went for Australia but tough one moldova Portugal Austria Slovenia Finland norway and Spain were all amazing too nearly all acts were flawless
Czechia robbed
Kaarija for televote
Blanca jury
Loreen is exposed without staging with this song
Except blanka is not good at all. And her song is not hard to sing vocal vise. Literally the same vokal throughout the song.
The only thing she has going for her is the hand movements
19 Spanish people disagree 😀
Like it or not, her song is not a hard song to sing.
Neither is loreen’s. Mumble for a bit and shout loud. Then mumble then shout. Go silent then shout more and more
Basic
Her song IS not hard to sing? Meaning you could sing It yourself easily? I can understand that you dont like the song, even that you find the song just screaming but saying that her song IS not hard to sing is just stupid and only shows your ignorance.
So just because It is one vowel It means It is not hard to sing??? So Mozart’s Queen of the Night aria from the Magic Flute, the one where the singer just sings the vowel A, IS not hard to sing??? Man your ignorance IS almost touching.
very predictable too of Loreen topping another poll with quite the landslide
Reiley continues to be soo underrated, breaking my heart is a banger
TuralTuranX also very underrated such a gem of a azeri homegrown entry
Edgar Allan Poe and Blanca
Blanca is really awesome, changing and surprising us in literally every pre-parties!
And I cannot help cracking up when the audience helps finish Lula’s ‘game over b*tch’ lmao!!
Hahaha. I noticed my typo by the time I sent the comment. But, alas, already too late.
I was thinking about Lulu and Luka (two other names of Luke), then it turned out to be Lula. Or maybe just a Freudian slippery as I am actually following Brazilian politics recently. 😉
Yeah, all creds to Blanca putting in all that effort.
Poe
Kärijää, Piqued Jacks, and Tural and Turan!!
